The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted July 30, 2012 Hey guys, I just wanted to talk to you about my opinion on the two handheld systems from Nintendo and Sony. These systems have been on store shelves for a while now, and I’ve seen lots of new games for them. I myself own a Nintendo 3DS, and I think that the system is spectacular. I haven’t gotten a PSVita yet, and I don’t plan to anytime soon unless a Kingdom Hearts game or a new Dissidia game is announced for the system. Now then, I think that both systems are good, and as you can all see, both are competing to be the best handhelds on the current market. I like Sony as much as the next guy, but I think that the 3DS is better, because it has lots of quality games like the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time(which is the second Zelda game I played in my life, and I loved it.), Super Mario 3D Land, Kid Icarus: Uprising and most importantly in my opinion, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. But I also think that the PSVita has lots of potential, because the games have graphics on par with the PS3, and it has the excellent cross platform play, which is a curious feature. But the only thing that kills this system is it’s overwhelming price on both the 3G and Wifi versions. Well anyways, I think that the future of these two handhelds is bright, considering all the cool games that can be done on them. Zenithia 305 Posted July 30, 2012 tutti frutti. I would have to go with the 3DS. To me it has its own great library of games that people are familiar with, and those that people can expect to get their hands on. Same with the Vita. Also, the 3DS is backwards compatible, which I think is a plus for those that have DS games, or at the very least the option to buy them in order to help keep the life of the 3DS. The Vita doesn't really jump out at me. Unless there are a line up of games that catch my attention, there really isn't that much for me. LightningXIII 310 Posted July 30, 2012 I agree 100%. The PSVita is good, but doesn't have enough games for everyone's taste yet. But it will soon! Just a point though, the psvita can't fully recreate a ps3 game due to the engines being different. Imagine ffxiii and ffxiii 2 on the psvita. Yeah, it doesn't seem very likely until its watered down. The psvita does have lots of potential, but simply can't create the same experiences you'd get on a ps3. The Kingdom Hearts Otaku 44 Posted July 30, 2012 (edited) I say 3DS why? well 3D it's in the name the PSVita just finally got a touch screen and on the subject of games both started out with game remakes up the 3DS is finally getting a collection of its own. They both exsist and appeal to Different people. 3DS will appeal to all the people who like Pokemon and more family friendly games and Rpgs on the go. Vita only has AC3L...that I'm interested in. (Yes I am buying it for ONE game ._. The Vita is more hardcore and about the system while the 3DS is just about games(would it kill Nintendo to put a usb port in the 3DS for people who have no router to get the system update). Wyle 123 Posted July 30, 2012 Both systems have a lot of offer. I don't own a PSVita (I have a PSP), and I own a 3DS. Therefore my opinion is biased, BUT I'm going to go with the 3DS because I feel it is more "technological." I praise Sony for their work on the PSVita and I'm sure it will prove successful. Lots of games on the 3DS have been appealing to me and the 3DS just has a lot to offer. Sometimes I find the PSP main screen, or whatever, confusing and I'm not sure if the PSVita is the same but that's a con on my behalf. Kingdom Hearts is on 3DS which may be a key factor for why we all love it so much. If Kingdom Hearts is on PSVita in the future ( :blink:) then I'd go to buy it. But I think my answer would stay with 3DS for many reasons. It's in 3D, it has a better selection of games that appeal to me, more family-friendly, and my whole family loves Nintendo.
