KHCoM Was it Aqua or the Organization Who Gave us Card Games?

Recommended Posts

I sort of covered this in my other topic, but this one is without DDD spoilers.

So, is it Aqua's magic/Caslte Oblivion that makes everything cardish? Or is it just something Org Members and Ansem did?

It's weird to me that Luxord had noting to do with "Operation CO" given his choice of weapon. As for how they create cards, the cards are a manifestation of the persons memories. CO probably uses this as a way to prevent danger to the world by having an intruder become lost in their memories.

Luxord wasn't a traitor though. But the idea sounds awesome.

Would have been pretty hilarious if in BBS aqua was shown to enjoy playing card games, thus implying where the card system came from.

I would have paid for see that. I guess, in my opinion that the answer is : Aqua´s Maaaaagic :) Edited by Blacksun30

I think it's a mixture of both, Aqua did things to Castle Oblivion to allow it to be used as away to explore memories using cards, the Organization doesn't seem to bother with it, but since they want to mess with Sora they make him do it. The card battle system is just a way of representing what they do, so Sora uses the cards as memories, while they just hit him in the face.

I like the idea that the cards are a way of protecting the world. For all we know the Room of Awakening is right next to the entrance and the memory cards just serve as one big distraction so no one will find something hidden in plain sight.

If you want the answer to which one it is, I'd probably say that it's Castle Oblivion's way of confusing its residents, which is the point of the building to begin with.

But if you want to cynical answer, it's because it was the best way to make a KH game run on a GBA haha xD

To tell the truth, I don't think anyone can confirm anything about this. I too thought about this once, but I let it go, because there's no way to know for sure. It is not mentioned or BbS or CoM, so we kinda have to wait. Maybe things will be clearified in KH3.

They didn't send Luxord there because he would ne unstoppable. He would be like god with he's powers strengthened o.O

And yet they send him to Wonderland. I'm questioning this Org.

Now that you mentioned it, it would be cool to see Luxord controlling those card soldiers. Think about the mess he could make...

I also don't this Organization anymore

I think its more something Organization members did with the cards specifically; the Organization used Castle Oblivion to do experiments on memory. The cards were probably a convenient method they used to hold memories and project them into the rooms of castle oblivion. The name suggests that it already had memory properties to it; Organization just added cards to utilize that.

Using cards to fight is more of a gameplay mechanic; cutscenes sort of prove that cards aren't actually used to fight, but may symbolize the memories of how to fight and such. It's especially hard to tell in the case of Sora because Namine was messing around with memories and stuff...

I like the idea that the cards are a way of protecting the world. For all we know the Room of Awakening is right next to the entrance and the memory cards just serve as one big distraction so no one will find something hidden in plain sight.

I feel like the secret is like a Mirror of Erised type thing; you'd have to make a card from Aqua's memory of that room to get in, and then it would be the real deal. Ie, only someone who remembers/knows the castle would actually be able to navigate it. I feel like Castle Oblivion might have more secrets to it; afterall, I'm pretty sure the organization abused this world, so there must be something else that Eraqus wanted hidden...or maybe some special knowledge...hm...
