Wyle 123 Posted July 30, 2012 (edited) Just to add on even more to what everyone is saying, I strongly believe that Kingdom Hearts is a deep story. You need to dive deep into a world(s) of what all these characters went through. You may not like it because it may be too deep for you to understand. Kingdom Hearts has the best plot/story I've ever seen in a game series, in my opinion. Edited July 30, 2012 by Runay
Smithee 327 Posted July 30, 2012 The only thing that bugs me is Terra/Eraqus. Everything else, I understand perfectly.
StarlightStorm 21 Posted July 30, 2012 I loved the story. KH always has such a compelling and emotional story.

Number XV 490 Posted August 15, 2012 I think it did it in for me with the Organization coming back (Lea, etc.) That was fanservice.
Kirux 1,224 Posted August 15, 2012 I think it did it in for me with the Organization coming back (Lea, etc.) That was fanservice. Might have been fanservice, but it was explained fan service. It was actually set up at the end of one of the last games, so it was hinted at fanservice. Also, it was *AWESOME* fanservice. I think that if you just rush through the game and dont sit down to think about what's being revealed to you, you're not going to understand it. The story is complex, and is revealed to you in layers, like an ogre onion cake parfait. I think the hardest thing to understand is the time travel, which I still don't get. Then again, I don't understand any sort of time travel that doesn't involve payphone booths or blue policeman's boxes.

It ruins Axel's whole death for me. 1 hatok reacted to this
Rikuoblivion2344 5 Posted August 15, 2012 Basically watch allllllllll the custscenes, if you don't understand it watch it again (Noruma Logic is hard to understand) then you will understand most of it if you have played the other games, and then go on forums like these for all those other random questions

It certainly doesn't make you special to be able to understand it 1 Cactuar reacted to this
Crown Unlimit 234 Posted August 15, 2012 I don't think the story was stupid. I think it was great! It was confusing, but if that makes it stupid, then most of the other games were stupid as well. I, personally, loved this game (game play-wise, story-wise), but I don't think it was better than BbS. It was definitely a great entry for the 10 year anniversary, and a great entry to lead up to KH 3. I hope that if you get it, you will enjoy as much as I did. Speed 37 Posted August 15, 2012 People who don't like the story obviously don't have the patience to play through most of the games. Dumb Person: Why are there spin offs here? They probably aren't even important to the series in any way because it isn't numbered. I won't play any of them. What, who are all these people in KH3? Aw it's stupid! The sad part is that I knew someone who thought like this.

MDSVeritas 299 Posted August 16, 2012 The story is far more complex. There is not only more to understand, but the context of the story itself is tough to fully grasp. However, it doesn't stop it from begin one of the most fufilling KH stories we've gotten in a long time. Even while BBS was a truly new story with new characters, 3D finally moved Sora's story forward, and we get a lot of thrills on the way there. Returning characters give quite a few surprises, and Riku and Sora's friendship has never been more center stage (Am I the only one who thinks KH portrays some of the best friendships of any movie/game/book yet?). All in all, through all the complexity, you'll be rooting for the characters, and by the end, you'll probably be as impatient for KHIII as I was. A story well done in my eyes. Cactuar 21 Posted August 16, 2012 (edited) The story is great, and have the best character development to real Sora (ok, this part wasn't hard, up until now he was pretty much just smashing things with X without asking) and to Riku, mainly (not that it's very huge or anything). It is something you would expect from a Kingdom Hearts, the problem with the new plot holes and contradictions is that since Kingdom Hearts 2 we had three "spin offs" before DDD, two of them had poor new plot informations and gameplay compared to the major titles. That along with the series taking whole ten years to get somewhere, with it's chapters spread over diferent consoles, turned it a little inconsistent and vulnerable to some critics. Dream Drop Distance is taking some of the dislikes for the whole series, and in some way it deserves that. But it's a great game and really important to the story. I liked the plot, just miss the secret reports, that would help a lot and would be fun to speculate with. Edited August 16, 2012 by Cactuar
MDSVeritas 299 Posted August 16, 2012 Jebus, man, your not an advertisement. People can think the story is a well-told one, even if over-complex, and if times convoluted. Some of that core story is one of the things that made me like the series in the first place. People can think it's terribly convoluted, and it certainly can be, but thinking that it's nonetheless a fulfilling story doesn't somehow make people's arguments invalid, questionable, or flat out wrong. Everyone should deserve to have their own opinion on these things.
Dio Brando 5,810 Posted August 16, 2012 (edited) the reviewers are just stupid with the game just because it's not a Call of Duty(most reviewers give Cod a 910 despite being a rehash in every game).......oh come on....even with the glitches and some time travel problem....the Story was so good but only the Fan of the series will understand it...other people especially the new on the series won't understand the story unless they try to play the spin-offs they missed we finally progress forward in the Story and KH3D is an introduction to KH..........Kingdom Hearts was always about Story......if those dumbass reviewers said the story is stupid is because they didn't bother to play the other games.....or they just skipped every cutscene and read some bad transilation for the Japanese Version........
