Kingdom Hearts: The Dark Era of Sora

[CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]

What would happen when if you were being controlled by someone of darkness. Well you can guess with this story. The story of Sora, and the fight for his body and mind from a man of darkness and negative emotions.....Vanitas.

The story begins in the quiet Destiny Islands, in altenative timeline where Sora does not recieve the letter from King Mickey. Sora, Kairi and Riku now live in peace as Xehanort's reign of terror ends, along with the Organization. However, one enemy Sora and the gang don't know still exisit, Vanitas. At the end of the BBS in Ventus' ending, Vanitas was defeated by Ventus and fused with him, restoring the darkness of Ventus' heart, however setting him in a coma. And after the events of BBS, Ventus' heart went into Sora and he became one with Sora. However, Vanitas was never truely destroyed. Or at least not in this story....

So, when Vanitas can't not take being the darkness of Ventus' (techincally Sora's) heart, he takes over Sora's body, and tries to use his body to bring back his old master, start a new Keyblade War, and swallow all the worlds in darkness. HOWEVER, Sora only takes the characteristics: Black hair, golden eyes, and his black red suit, while still being able to control the body and his will. But he starts to lose both slowly. The only people that can help him is his two best friends and a person he hasn't met...in years.

As Sora starts to lose his mind and body, he can't understand anything. Unversed start appearing, attacking many worlds and his friends, but not him. Sora is scared and afraid. Will he be able to see the light in the darkness once again, or shall darkness finally consume him?

Chapter 9 - The Keyblade Graveyard

 

Vanitas has brought Kairi to a mysterious place. Kairi could not do anything but just sit on the ground. But she took a look around, noticing all Keyblades, all different from each other, in the ground. She asked, "Where are we?" Vanitas quickly responded, "The Keyblade Graveyard." Kairi was silent after he said that.

 

Riku and the others landed on the Keyblade Graveyard. Riku, Mickey, Jiminy Donald and Goofy got out and waved to them as they left in hypermode. Riku said, "You guys go that way. I'll go this way." They all agreed and the others left the other way.

 

Riku walked a few steps but stopped. He turned around and saw that the others had left quickly. It was weird. He turned around again to find someone else. Riku jumped and summoned his Keyblade. The person was a man in armor. He was kneling down, with his Keyblade in the ground, holding it strong. Riku lowered his Keyblade but still was going to be careful. He took a few steps forward and went to go touch the man, but he pulled his Keyblade out of the ground. Riku took a few steps back and went into battle position. The man stood up and just held his Keyblade, without looking like he was going to put up a fight. He said something, even though he didn't say something. It was like he was talking in Riku's mind. He said:

 

You are the one I choosen

Just a short chapter, and lol, I said Chapter 7 and 8 was going to be short and I was wrong. This one was short

 

After Chapter 10, I will put up Kingdom Hearts: The Lost Star, only the introduction, to show you what the storyline is, and what to expect.

Chapter 10 - Familiar People

 

Riku stop holding his Keyblade in battle position. He looked the armor. "You chose me? For what?" The man replied, For wielding the Keyblade of course. But I see you wielding a Keyblade I have not chose for you. Your destiny must of changed. I assume this Sora wields it. I've seen him before. With you. I am guessing you're his friend, correct? Riku nodded and then said, "But how do you know us?" The man said, On the islands. Do you remember? It was 10 years ago. I asked why you wanted to leave the islands. You said someone left the islands, and that you wanted to become stronger. Riku tried to remember but said, "I remember. But I don't remember you. You're like a blur to me..."

 

The man held his hand out. Then please allow me to help you. I will show you the truths and what's happened. Riku thought for a moment and nodded. Then the armor on the man dropped to the ground and all it was a glowing ball of light. It flew towards Riku and went inside him. Riku looked like he was in pain but he wasn't. He was...surpised. He tilt his head down and something inside began to happen.

 

Riku was in the Awakening. He was a on a station but it was unusual. It showed Riku and another man. That man was probably the same one from the armor. It showed Riku and the man layed against like an invisible wall. It was similar Sora and Vanitas' station together. And Riku's Keyblade overlapped the man's Keyblade. Two pictures on top of each of them, on Riku's side had Sora and Kairi while the man's had two people. One was Ventus and one was a women with blue. And at the bottom contained a picture of a man on each. On the man's was a mysterious old man with a white beard while the other was another man but didn't have a white beard but white hair. In the blackness showed memories. On Riku side, it showed his and vice versa. He was starring at the man's rather than his. He saw lots of memories with his friends, his adventure going to the other worlds, and his final moments. He even saw Vanitas.

 

The man finally appeared on his part of the station. He said, "I am Terra." He walked over to Riku and patted him on the shoulder. "Boy you grew big. 10 years and you're as big as me." He laughed but Riku didn't. He said, "How are you going to help me, Terra?" Terra closed his eyes and memories of his two friends appeared. Terra voiced over while the memories were moving, "This is Ventus and Aqua. My two best friends. Like how your friends with Sora and I believe her name is Kairi." He turned around to see memories of Riku and saw his encounter with Aqua. He said, "Ah so you both seen Aqua. Good." He stopped and then said, "I remember my essence with my heart before being losing connection to it. Apparently Aqua is in the Realm of Darkness."

 

Aqua soon disappeared and Ven appeared constantly on Terra's side. "And Ven. He was like a brother to me. Well a little one. I don't know what happened to him. I believe he's dead." Riku looked closely at Ven. He could of sworn that was Roxas. So he said, "Wait, you mean Roxas?" Terra looked at him strange and said, "No, that's Ven, not this Roxas." Riku replied, "No...that guy looks like Roxas. The Nobody of Sora." And turned around and memories of Riku fighting Roxas appeared. Terra looked at it with surpised and said, "I don't believe it. I mean, a boy looking like Ven, and you fought him...wait, you said the nobody of Sora?" Riku said, "It's Nobody, with a captial n. They are creatures that are the body and soul of someone who's heart was released. Sometimes if their will is strong enough, they can lived on and look like their orginal self. But I don't know why he looks like this Ven and not Sora." Terra thought for a moment and then said, "Then Ven is apart of Sora. Which would explain why he alot of things..."

 

Terra said, "Look Riku, I can help your friend. I can feel that Sora was being consumed by someone. And it had to be Vanitas. I smelt Xehanort when I fought him recently." Riku looked at him and said, "Xehanort!" Terra sighed and only said, "It's a long story. Now I need to take over your body and let me fight Vanitas. He's too strong for you." Riku shrugged and said, "As long as you can get my friend back to nomral, you can stay for as long as you need." Terra smiled and so, a transformation began to happen on Riku on the outside.

 

It grew dark out and it was time. Vanitas summonded a ball of lightning and darkness like his master did. He shot it up in the air and saw the clouds moving away. What appeared was a heart-shaped moon. Kingdom Hearts. He smiled and looked at Kairi. The darkness of Vanitas and the lightness of Kairi glowed together. Kairi looked at herself as she had no idea what was happening. The lightness flew off of Kairi and into the air, along with Vanitas' darkness. Together, a mysteriously Keyblade appeared. But it wasn't a Keyblade. It was infamous, legendary X-Blade. Kairi's body fell to the ground, with nothing in her heart. However, Vanitas stood strong as he grabbed the X-Blade. With the X-Blade's power, he didn't need darkness or lightness. He had Kingdom Hearts' power.

 

He started to float in the air...when a ball of energy came out of nowhere and hit Vanitas' helmet, knocking it off and showing his face. He turned around and saw someone. It was Riku.

 

He floated down to the ground and held the X-Blade at Riku. "You're too late, Riku. I have control of-" He stopped when he noticed something different with Riku. His hair...it was brown rather than grey, while wielding the Way of the Dawn and the Gaia Bane, Terra's Keyblade. He spitted out, "Terra. I thought your exsistence was erased. Looks like I was wrong. Then I shall erase you along with Riku and-" He was interupted by someone. He turned around to see Mickey, Donald and Goofy. They had their weapons out and were in battle position. Vanitas laughed and said, "Heh, more to slaughter. Now let the ultimate showdown begin!" He was in battle position alone, along with Terra. Riku showed a hologram next to Terra. Sora appeared as a hologram next to Vanitas as well, but was in chains.

 

All hell was going to break loose, in this battle to the death!

End of Rising Action. And right into the climax. Hopefully this chapter blowed your mind with Terra controlling Riku, and then Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Terra vs. Vanitas. Got to read the next chapter to see to outcome and events inside Sora...oops looks like I spoiled a little. Oh well, you'll eventually read it .

Chapter 11 - The Ultimate Showdown

 

Terra, Mickey, Donald and Goofy charged Vanitas, but Vanitas shot a beam in the air, and disappeared. Mickey knew what to do. He jumped in the air, dodging, while Donald and Goofy was just confused. The both of them were hit with many slashes while Terra dodged. Vanitas kept hitting and hitting fast. The power of Kingdom Hearts was too strong for the gang.

 

Terra was thrown back with such force. He couldn't take him. He didn't have enough power unlike if he was in his regular body. Only one way to take out Vanitas. From the inside. Inside Riku's head, he said, New plan. I will go inside him! Riku replied, Not sure you should do that but ok!. Terra ran up to Vanitas and swung his Keyblades at him. Vanitas deflected it with his X-Blade. Terra's soul released and went into Vanitas. Riku dropped the two Keyblades and fainted. Vanitas just laughed and aimed the X-Blade at him, and went for the kill. But Goofy deflected it, and Donald used Fire on him. It hit his hand, and Vanitas cracked it. Donald and Goofy gulped. They were going to get their buts handed to them.

 

Inside, Sora was on his station, but was locked in chains. He continuesly started at the platform. He was brain dead. His heart was in ruins with no darkness or light. But Vanitas was making sure he wasn't going anywhere. Terra appeared and landed on it. He found Sora and ran to him. The chains...looked like they were too powerful to be destroyed...or even picked. Vanitas appeared and landed the platform, yelling out, "Nothing you can do, Terra. My plans succeeded and the end is nigh. There's no point." Terra pulled out something out of his pocket. It was some sort of star, and it was orange. He said, "Not true. I know Ven is here and he's the only one to stop you!" He held it high in the air and it glowed.

 

Soon a bright light appeared next to Terra. The light disappeared and there he was. Ventus. Ven said, "Terra...Good to see you." Terra responded, "Good to see you too," as he patted his shoulder. But they grew serious and starred at Vanitas. He laughed and said, "A good welcome deserves a goodbye!" He charged them Terra ran but Ventus pushed him back. Terra looked at him and smiled. Good memories. Ven summonded his Keyblade and both weapons slammed into each other. Ven started to glow and with enough strength, he pushed the X-Blade away and kicked Vanitas in the air. Ven ran for the X-Blade and grabbed it. Vanitas smiled and landed on the platform again. He said, "Even if you do have the X-Blade, I still got Kingdom Hearts' strength. You and Terra don't have enough power to take me down!" Ven shook his head and said, "Wrong. I have connections...so does Sora!"

 

Two people appeared. One looked excatly like Ven and one was a girl who had black hair. It was Sora's counterparts. Roxas and Xion. They both summonded their Keyblades, the Kingdom Key. Vanitas reached his hand out and tried to summon the X-Blade to his hand but Terra shot Vanitas with a beam of light. He continued to shoot him with it. Roxas and Xion aimed their Keyblades at Vanitas and shot beams of light.

 

Three wasn't enough. Ven looked over to Sora. He walked over and put the X-Blade in Sora's hand. Ventus shot a beam of light at Vanitas, and waited for Sora. Sora didn't do anything. He continued starring at the ground. Ven hopped for Sora to wake up. Sora's eyes was filled with blank. Even in his perspective, his vision was blank as well. However, a sound was heard. It was Kairi. She yelled out, "SORA!" Sora's eyes opened and a huge beam of light shot out of the X-Blade, hitting Vanitas, causing the whole area to fill with light.

 

Was the light affective...or did it fail? Find our the next chapter, the final battle of Vanitas. Who will win and who will lose...or die?

Oh yeah... these chapters were made of EPIC...

Chapter 12 - Sora's a Bomb

 

Vanitas walked to Riku. Donald went in front of Vanitas and said, "CMON SORA! We know you're still in there! Fight back!" Vanitas said, "Out of my way, you stupid duck," as he pushed Donald away. He continued walking but Goofy stood in his way too. "Sora! Snap of out of it. You can beat him!" Vanitas said, "I don't have time for your stalling," and kicked him out away. He reached Riku but Mickey stood in front of him. "Sora. I know you're in there. You got to fight back!" Vanitas was tired of this. He aimed the X-Blade at him and was about to hit Mickey...but he stopped. Light shined at Vanitas' stomach. He said, "Oh no," and then he was a bomb. He exploded with light which blew away everything. Mickey and Riku fell off a cliff but Mickey grabbed on to Riku and the ledge. The X-Blade landed next to Kairi.

 

When the light disappeared, Vanitas was still there. It seemed he was injured but was still in control. He walked towards Kairi to get the X-Blade, but was stopped. In front of him was Riku. He turned around to see Mickey holding Riku. He was confused. But once he turned around again, three appeared. Replicas. Vexen's Riku Replicas. And they were not happy.

Chapter 13 - A Replica's Fight

 

Vanitas couldn't get to the X-Blade so he summonded his own Keyblade and fought the Replicas. However, there was too many of them. As he kept destroying, more keep coming. There was no end.

 

One Replica appeared, but saw Mickey with the real Riku. But Mickey was on the cliff, losing his grip. This Replica was different from the others because he grabbed Mickey just before he fell. He pulled him up and went to go fight Vanitas. It's like he had a heart...

 

Riku finally woke up from Terra's soul out of his body, losing connection to his body in the process. He said to Mickey, "What happened?" Mickey replied, "Vanitas exploded from the inside, like there was light destorying him! Maybe we can get Sora back if tried to hit him with light from the outside!" Riku nodded and summonded his Keyblade. Mickey did the same. They shot beams of light at Vanitas. Two of the Replicas looked back to see the beams of light, and they dodged. Vanitas, fighting the Replicas, did not see the light and was hit with it. He groaned in pain, but he was still standing strong.

 

Riku knew it wasn't enough. He looked at the same one that helped out Mickey. He yelled out, "Hey you! Grab the weapon besides Kairi and aim it at him!" The Replica looked back at Riku and nodded. He went over to the X-Blade and grabbed it. He turned around and aimed it at Vanitas. Without warning, a big beam of light shot out and hit Vanitas, causing an explosion like what happened before.

Chapter 14 - Vanitas' Last Stand

 

He again was still standing but this time, and the Replicas were gone. Vanitas looked different. Parts of him was Sora. His eyes turned blue, and it appeared Sora was trying to take control. However his eyes turned gold. Looked like Vanitas wasn't going to let him. He opened a huge ball of darkness in the air, with it sucking everything. Mickey and Riku grabbed on to one of the Keyblades in the ground. Donald and Goofy did the same. Vanitas limped to where the X-Blade.

 

He bend down to grab it. But something was wrong. The X-Blade was being pulled back. He realized....it was Kairi! She stood up, glowing with gold as Kingdom Hearts powered her. She tried to pull the X-Blade out of Vanitas' hand. But it was a tug-a-war as Vanitas pulled back. Vanitas, however let go as Sora kicked him out of power, as his eyes turned blue. Sora said, "Kairi, aim it at my heart and end this! Even if it means killing me." Kairi shook her head and said, "I won't do it!" Riku, Mickey, Donald and Goofy were very uneasy as their Keyblades began to pull out of the ground. Luckly, Donald was able to yell out, "HURRY KAIRI!" Kairi shook her and but Sora said, "Do it for me. Do it for everyone."

 

Kairi started to tear up and cry. She aimed it the X-Blade at Sora's heart. Sora closed his eyes as a beam of light started to glow on the X-Blade. It shot at Sora's heart. It caused Vanitas to be destroyed as light consumed it. The X-Blade disintergrated into light and darkness, the darkness went back to Sora while the light went back to Kairi. The darkness fused with Ventus' heart. And then Ventus' heart fused with Sora's. All of the parts that Sora had Vanitas on was now Sora's. He was pure Sora once again. The dark ball vanish and everyone let go of the Keyblade. A light in Sora appeared and then disappeared.

 

However, Sora fell to the ground, now dying. Everyone rush to Sora's side. Kairi and Riku bent down to Sora. Sora's eyes were closed, and he wasn't breathing correctly. Riku sighed and said to Kairi, "I can save him. But it risks my life. I might as well do it." Kairi stared at him and looked down at Sora. "Don't worry. I can be save. It's him disappearing forever or me disappearing but can be saved," said Riku. He smiled and stood up. He aimed the Keyblade at the sky. He glowed and then the light around Riku popped out of him and into Sora. Riku then disappeared into thin air and everybody gasps.

 

But Sora was going to be alright.

I pretty much just rushed through Chapter 12-14. The next chapters won't be rushed, I promise. Because today is when I finish my story ^_^

Chapter 15 - Sora Awakens...Again

 

With Vanitas gone, thanks to the efforts of Kairi, the worlds have finally reappeared, the darkness gone from them.

 

However, this led Sora to shoot right up in a coma. It's been a couple of days after the incident, and he still hasn't awaken. This was probably because of Vanitas' and Ventus' doing. All that stress on his body over did it. However, Kairi and the gang believe he won't be able to wake up...

 

In the Awakening, Sora lied on his station, sleeping. His station was completely Vanitas proof. He only had himself on there. However, the problem was, will he wake up?

 

Sora woke up to the sound of someone's voice, opening his eyes slowly to find Ventus standing above him. Ven offered a hand, and Sora grabbed it, and pulled up. Sora said to him, "Who are you?" Ven smiled and said, "You'll find out soon. Once you really wake up..." He disappeared and the whole Awakening covered with light.

 

Sora opened his eyes and saw Kairi above him. He couldn't make out any words, only grunt noises as he try to sit up. He said, "How long have I been out?" Kairi replied, "A week...". He looked around and then said, "Where's Riku?" Kairi shook her head and said, "Gone..." She didn't cry or tear up. He eyes were too tired for that. She had blackish purple under her eyes. Sora looked at her but then put his head down. "But we can still save him..." Sora looked up when Kairi said that. He jumped out of the bed and said, "Well then, it's time to go then!" Kairi stood up and said, "But wait! The King couldn't stay for that long. He wanted to give you this." She turned around grabbed something and then turned around again to show it to Sora. It was a bottle...with a message inside?

Epilouge

 

The letter had said:

 

I wanted to tell you immediately.

There are memories asleep inside you.

Those memory fragments connect to the future.

Sora, Riku, Kairi,

the truth surrounding the Keyblade,

passes through numerous connections,

which are inside your hearts.

Sora,

it all leads to you, and everyone is waiting for you.

The only one who can heal their sadness is you.

Its possible that the travels up until now,

compared to the next trip, may have been easy.

Everything thought to be accidental was really connected,

and the door to a new departure already seems to be opening.

 

Sora sat on the paopu tree, reading it. Kairi walked up to the tree and smiled, but stopped and said to Sora, "You're leaving now?" Sora stood, nodding and said, "I have to. There are sad people in this world I am connected to, and I must save them. I even have to save Riku..." Kairi smiled and made a small sigh. She took his hand and put an object in it. It was her lucky charm. "Hurray back."

 

....

 

Riku walked in the Realm of Darkness, lost and with no hope. He came across the Dark Meridian, a place he went to with Sora. He walked there to find two people. He wondered...

 

He walked to them and said, "Who are you two?" The man in the coat looked up and said, "I remember you...Riku...it's hard to remember..." Riku was stunned and he replied, "DiZ!" He looked at the woman beside him. "And who are you?" The woman said, "Aqua." Riku repeated what she said, "Aqua...you're a Keyblade wielder he talked about!"

HOLY CRAP, OMFG IT'S DONE! I am actually kind of sad, because I don't want to see my story end

Altenative Ending (*Note that this happens during Chapter 14)

 

Vanitas bend down to grab the X-Blade. But something was wrong. The X-Blade was being pulled back. He realized....it was Kairi! She stood up, glowing with gold as Kingdom Hearts powered her. But what if Kairi refused? Here's would of happened if she did that.

 

Kairi refused to do it. Riku, Mickey, Goofy, and Donald's Keyblades fell out of the ground. All of them went to the dark ball, and disappeared. Kairi looked, but accidently aim the X-Blade at Sora's heart. Sora closed his eyes as a beam of light started to glow on the X-Blade. It shot at Sora's heart. However it was too late, as he had enough power to from consuming the others in a dark ball, and even though it hit Vanitas too, he was not destroyed. However, the X-Blade disintergrated into light and darkness, the darkness went back to Sora while the light went back to Kairi. Vanitas laid rest with Ventus' heart. All of the parts that Sora had Vanitas on was now Sora's. He was pure Sora once again, but still had Vanitas. The dark ball vanish, and a light in Sora appeared and then disappeared.

 

However, Sora fell to the ground, now dying. Kairi bend down. She cried as she watched Sora lying there, knowing that she couldn't do anything to help him. He closed his eyes and disappeared. Two hearts popped out of where Sora was lying. One of them disappeared with darkness. The other flew around Kairi and teleported her. It then flew into the air and disappeared.

 

Kairi was on Destiny Island again. It was weird. The darkness should of consumed the world when Vanitas stole Kairi away. She stood on the beach and lowered her head. She didn't stop Vanitas in enough time. Now he was still alive, somewhere in the Strange Dimension. And the other...she did not know about.

 

As she walked away, she notice something in the sky. It was a person, somebody Sora's height. He wore blueish armor and was on a board. Like a hoverboard. She saw him flying around and he notice her on there. He saluted her and opened a portal into the Strange Dimension. She knew he would fix everything.

 

That boy...was Ventus. He would stop Vanitas from doing the same thing once again. And maybe...he would be able to save everybody!

The secret ending below contains spoilers to the next upcoming story I will be making!

 

 

 

Secret Ending

 

Sora got dressed and went to the bathroom. He washed his face, and took a deep breath. He wiped his face with the towel and then hanged it up. And then he went to the mirror.

 

He smiled and said, "Well looks like I am not Vanitas. Yep, no more Vanitas!" He closed his eyes and laughed. He opened his eyes to see someone else in the mirror. He jumped and rubbed his eyes. When he finally opened, all he saw was his reflection. He looked the mirror strange and left the bathroom, soon going to set out on another, brand new adventure.

 

The person appeared in the mirror again and this time, he went out of the mirror, like a ghost. He even looked like one. The man had long, green hair, and wore such big, white armor that would look heavy. He said, "A Keyblade wielder...so if Keybladers still exist...where's Xehanort?"
