wayfinder823 477 Posted July 28, 2012 (edited) I'm buying a DVD from this guy who recorded one of our plays that I was in, but I want to be able to add Closed Captioning to it, so my hard of hearing friends can enjoy what they missed. Do you think I can ask the guy to just put the video FILE on a CD for me, (sort of like flashdrive) and then I can bring it into my editor and add the CC myself? Because I really don't mind adding the CCs myself. I've done it before, but it's always been through video files via internet (like clips from mediafire) I've never done it from an existing CD before. Can you burn video to a CD or DVD and have it remain in FILE mode, and not "Play as DVD" mode? Edited July 28, 2012 by wayfinder823

Hei 3,233 Posted July 28, 2012 I THINK I know the answer to the last question, just put the file onto a normal writable CD. When you put it into your computer, it should just ask you to view the files on the CD. Just like a flash drive would do if you were to connect to your PC. And If it doesn't work, sorry
Uncle Dolan 963 Posted July 28, 2012 IDK because I don't use movie editing software. Only music-related software,
hatok 6,413 Posted July 28, 2012 Where's Sora96 when you actually need him? Maybe we can lure him in with some delicious Australian cuisine?Or, if that fails, I hear if you say Australia three times, he appears behind you... 3 Rob, AntonioKHT and burnsideking24 reacted to this

AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted July 28, 2012 You could always rip the DVD, add captions, and then burn the new video onto a disc. Simple enough.
