Makenna scoffed. "Whatever. At least I don't sleep on a bench." she mumbled. "My powers ruined, yet saved my life. Insane asylum started my life over. Wasn't in there for more than a week, but I was able to start over." she said to Patricia. "You stayin or goin. I could care less either way. If your goin, there's the door." Makenna got up off the couch and started walking towards a large room which she called her bedroom. 'She'll be back. Begging for food, shelter. Ha, I wont let her have any either." she got an evil thought. She stretched her mind trying to catch up to Mary. Finally she connected. <See ya later Mary.> she thought. She pulle her mind back and started laughing. 'Mary, Reserved for her mom. Looks like I can use it too.'

GOOD RIDDENCE! Mary Jane thought as loud as she could, so Makenna could still hear it. And she still called me Mary. That does more than just annoy me, she thought to herself. Have fun with your criminal life, you annoying telepath.

Mary Jane walked back to the park. It was starting to get dark and she was exhausted. She sat down on a bench and dozed off a few times, but the hunger clawing at her stomach would wake her up. It had been at least 24 hours since she had last eaten. She groaned and leaned her head back. "I need to find a job tomorrow..." she mumbled. She felt around in her pockets, seeing if she even had any money. She found about $1.25 in her right jacket pocket. Stolen food suddenly didn't sound that bad... No! I'm not sinking to her level.

Makenna laughed at Mary and waved bye to her through her window. 'Hm, I wonder...' she thought. She ran into the kitchen and grabbed some lunch meat from the refrigerator and started smelling it. Stretching her mind to Mary to see if she could also drive people crazy with smells.

Mary Jane had finally drifted off to sleep without her stomach bothering her too much. Well, not too too much. All she dreamt about was food. And she could've sworn she could smell meat. The sound of her stomach growling woke her up and she was certain of what she smelled. It was odd that she could smell meat, yet there was no one even around her that could possibly have any. That left very few suspects. One, actually. Please don't tell me that Makenna can... she thought, then smelled it again. It was driving her insane, not to mention physically hurting her stomach. Makenna! Stop it! Right now! You don't have anything to gain from it, so stop! Mary Jane shouted to Makenna in her mind. This reminer of how hungry she was almost pushed her over the edge.

Makenna heard her shouting, well thinking, and stopped. She smiled to herself and put the food back up. She then started feeling guilty about what she had done. <I'm sorry Mary Jane. Your right. I had nothing to gain. That was just flat out mean> she thought to Mary. She reluctantly grabbed some food and headed out the door towards the park. She got there in a matter of minuets and saw the Mary was asleep onthe bench. She smiled slightly and sat the food down beside her. She sent Mary a metal picture of the food in goose it would wake her up enough so she could say sorry to her face.

Patricia sat idly by (and not because I'm a slow poster ) until she saw Makenna leaving to the park, and followed along. Unlike Makenna and Mary Jane, Patricia would of rather not given her opinion, for fear of offending any of them and them leaving her alone.

"So, are we all good then?" Patricia asked. "I think we should start getting more productive things done.

(Someone should play an enemy, so as to make the story more interesting)

John then ported away knowing he would call her if he got anything that she could handle. He then got his first police scanner reading of a robbery going down in a gas station. John then ported to the scene behind the building. He appeared into the back and ported infront of the man with a gun. John ported throwing the gun away. He came back and this guy had a dark cloud around. Him. This cloud started melting all the stuff around him. "You're one of us?" John said shocked as the cloud get bigger and the building litterally melted around them. John the ported the civilians out leaving the robber in there.

When Mary Jane awoke, she saw Makenna standing there, then Patricia running up and speaking to them.

"'Productive'? I'm not doing anything 'Productive' with her!" Mary Jane shouted as she stood up. "Now why don't the both of you just leave me alone!! Escpecially you!" She pointed to Makenna. Mary Jane then ran off to a different section of the park, hoping they wouldn't follow.

John was walking through the park when he saw a random girl running. Unfortunately for her she almost ran into him but he quickly ported out of the way. He only went a foot infront of her so she barely missed him. She hit the ground and John Helped her up. "Are you okay?" John asked as he made sure she didn't have any cuts, scrapes or any brusies.

Mary Jane stood and jerked away from the boy who helped her up. "I'm fine." she said sternly. She was tired and irritable, and she had had enough idiots bothering her today, she didn't need another one.

Mary Jane dusted off her jacket. "Just watch where you're going." she said before she started to walk away.

Makenna frowned. <I just wanted to say sorry. I came with some food for you.> she projected to Mary Jane. She shrugged and started to walk off, leaving the food. She saw Mary Jane trip and a guy helping her up. <Be careful. She's kinda hormonal.> she projected to... John. She laughed and stopped, watching the scene and secretly eavesdropping.

John almost let her walk away but she irritated him with her attitude. "Hey you ran into me chick, don't get angry at me for your problem alright so you just watch where you are going and watch your freaking attitude!!" John yelled at her, he then flipped the bird towards her behind her back. He just got really pissed off because after all the people he had saved this girl was going to be rude to him

Makenna laughed at John's attitude. 'I like him.' She started running over to John. "Sorry for her. She's bein a brat." She said smiling. "And you dont have to worry. I won't be rude to you. How many people have you saved?" she asked, already picking through his brain.

John was thrown off by her asking about the people he saved. "Um... How did you..." It then came to him and he realized "Telepath? Isn't it rude to pick through a random strangers brain" John joked a little irritated by the thought of some stranger listening in on his thoughts. "I don't keep count of the people I save, I just do it" John said trying t think of an answer.

Makenna laughed. "She kinda said the same thing. You seemed a little nicer though." She said smiling. "So John, do you mind if I stick around?" she asked hopping he would say yes. She waited patiently for a reply.

Patricia followed Mary Jane.

"Mary Jane! Mary Jane please! If you won't do this for her, or even for yourself, please do this for me. You guys may be the closest thing I've ever had for a family, even back when I was living in my foster home. Not to mention how big of an opportunity it is to meet not one, but two other people with special abilities obtained from what we can only assume came from the meteor shower. You can't just leave because you got a little irritated. Please don't do this." She looked intently at Mary Jane awaiting for an answer.

Mary Jane paused for a second. "'Closest thing to family', huh." she sighed, still having her back facing Patricia. "Well, we seem a bit similar. We both have these stupid powers, we've both been in the care of a family we didn't belong to in the first place..." Mary Jane stood there and took a deep breath, calming down a bit. "It's rough to not have a family. I know that all too well. And how much better of a person would I be than everyone who has walked out on me if I did the same to you?" She turned to Patricia. " I suppose I could stay with you for a while, but that telepath is out of the question indefinately."

John looked at the girl and shrugged, "Sure I'm sure I can use your talents. You'll do great for recon, so If you want to tag along you'll have to help me help others. Think you can manage that?" John said as he checked his phone for police reports but there wasn't anything luckily for him. "You know you could help me out! I have trained myself to read faces like if I'm ever in the same place as a bomber or somebody who is about to commit a murder, I can see the anger in their eyes, but I am never 100% sure. So you could help me" John said

Patricia smiled. "See? I think we're making progress now. But we can't just leave Makenna, can we? Can't we come to some sort of an agreement? Like not using our powers on each other unless asked to or unless it's neccessary? That's a good truce right?" Patricia asked Mary Jane.

"Nothing you say will make me change my mind about her." Mary Jane said firmly. "She's nothing more than a brat who thinks she can get whatever she wants, just beacuse she wants it. All of her stolen stuff, the fact that she just reads people's minds without their permission, just so she can invade their privacy. It makes me sick." She kicked a rock and sighed. "Besides," Mary Jane said, looking back at where Makenna and that boy were. "It looks like she's got a new partner. Therefore, she doesn't need us and we don't need her."

Patricia looked to see Makenna talking to another stranger and sighed.

"Oh... That was fast..." She looked back to Mary Jane. "Ok, at least I have someone to be with, so I'm not alone." She smiled again. "So where to now?"

Makenna smiled, pleased she could stay. "I can manage helping people. I'm going to let you know now though, I have stolen from people in the past. Just to survive. Like, the furniture I have, I stole that when I was first using my powers. Food I still steal because I don't have a job. Mary Jane back there dosent exactally approve. I sure you don't either, but I'm willing to change." She said hoping he wouldn't kick her to the curb. "Oh, I'm Makenna by the way." she said as they passed the park bench. Spotting the food she left, she picked it up. <If your not gonna eat it I sure will.> she projected to Mary Jane. Opening the bag, she handed a turkey sandwich to John. "Would you like to eat? Dont worry, it's fresh. It's actually mine that I left for Mary Jane, but, she's hormonal." she said.

John took the sandwich and sat down on the bench. John realized he hadn't eaten much for a while due to his sudden thirst to help people. John ate the sandwich and looked at Makeena. "Its good that you are having a change of heart, it shows good character to admit your wrongs and do right, good Karma" John said finishing off the sandwich.

Makenna sat beside John and started on the sandwich. "Well, I don't exactally like stealing. I just can't get a job. I'd go insane." she laughed. "That, and I really CAN'T get a job. I shouldn't even be out here." she said seeing a police car drive down the street. She quickly turned her back to the car and finished the sandwich. "You have somewhere to stay? I have a place not far from here. And just so you know, I didnt steal his from anyone other than the bank. It's abandoned, besides me living there."

John laughed. "I have a thieving past to but I happen to use my charm to get it." John said with a wink. "I think I know the bank you are talking about, obviously since its abandoned, that's the only abandoned one in town." John said as he grabbed Makenna and the ported out of there. They appeared into the bank. "This is it I hope" John joked
