Zola 3,038 Posted July 25, 2012 I know there are several similar music-based questions on this site, but I'm still curious as to which pieces of music (from any of the games) would you say best embody the Kingdom Hearts series for you? For myself, it would be between Dearly Beloved (pretty obvious), Destati (definitely gives you a sense of the peril, wonder, and depth of the story), and Hand in Hand (because it captures the innocent, energetic hopefulness of the series) . AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted July 25, 2012 Obviously, it's "Dearly Beloved". 1 Daniel Black reacted to this

Iamkingdomhearts1000 1,170 Posted July 25, 2012 (edited) Maybe all of them but rather i think personally the "Xehanort" Theme embodies the threat of Master Xehanort and his forces. Edited July 25, 2012 by Iamkingdomhearts1000

A mystery 346 Posted July 25, 2012 Every time I think of Kingdom Hearts the first I song I hear is Dearly Beloved. It is such a lovely song that captures so much emotion. The second song I think of is Hikari, which is also a great song.
Firaga 5,947 Posted July 25, 2012 I agree that Dearly Beloved is symbolic with KH, but I think Simple And Clean, as well as Sanctuary, can fit in that category, too. http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/happy.png

Daniel Black 1,981 Posted August 15, 2012 (edited) Its a draw between Dearly Beloved and Simple and Clean (Hikari) - Orchestra, at least for me Edited August 15, 2012 by Blacksun30
Pyrrha Nikos 1,162 Posted August 15, 2012 -Dearly Beloved (no, really?) - Simple and Clean/ Hikari - Sanctuary/Passion (gotta love Utada)
LunarMadness 79 Posted August 15, 2012 Dearly Beloved is basically the symbolic music of the series... it wraps up all the serenity and beauty of it all into one little piano melody. I feel Destati and all its remixes is basically the antithesis to that. It wraps up the threat of evil and darkness.
Kirux 1,224 Posted August 15, 2012 (edited) I'm going to be a rebel. Roxas' Theme. It's so soft, sweet, gentle, and somehow nostalgic. Yet, at the same time it is amazingly sad. It may not be sad in the in your face way like Riku's theme is. It's the hopeful sort of sad. That's what KH is to me. It's the sweet story, that I have very fond memories of, but at the same time it's very depressing when you think about the story. Yet, the characters always have hope, and that makes it sadder. (I was listening to it while writing this and started crying) That's what I really really really really want to say. But the fact of the matter is that Hikari ~ Orchestra Instrumental (not to be confused with Hikari Instrumental, the really pretty rendition that plays when Sora unlocks his heart to free Kairi's) embodies everything KH is about. The ups, the downs. The inspiration you get from it is magical. You can feel the character's desire to fight for their friends through it. Their hope for a better future, and the conflicts that they face along the way. The cymbals that clash during the big scores are perfectly timed, and it makes it that much more epic. (Changed to this song, felt better but it's going to be on repeated for another 3 hours.) I HONESTLY cannot chose between the two of these songs. Neku 13 Posted August 15, 2012 Yeah I think it's Simple and Clean Orchestral it just feels like it's the series soul. Because Dearly Beloved changes a little bit each game I just feel that it represents each game separatly rather than the series itself
