Do you think hemp and marijuana should be legalized?

Okay, so I just finished watching the documentary "The Union" that was pretty much explaining why there's nothing wrong with hemp and marijuana. I watched this because I have to do a paper on legalizing marijuana and give my opinion on whether I'm for it or against it. I would like to hear your guys' opinions. I'm not even 100% sure if this is in the right place but I think it fits. If you want to watch the movie, I'll post it right below this little paragraph.

Personally, I don't have the urge to do it. I think that doing drugs is a pretty dumb thing. But, just because I don't care for it doesn't mean that I should force that on others. I would not vote against it being legalized if given the option.

Well I don't see the problem with legalizing it.If you're somewhere smoking marijuana and nobody else is being negatively affected there's no reason it should be considered bad

I'm not sure what hemp is and I don't feel like watching the video, but I've always been pro-marijuana.

It doesn't affect you badly in a physical sense except for the case of the munchies and the only problem is if you're psychologically addicted and it takes over your life. And psychological addiction isn't a basis for keeping it illegal, since you can get psychologically addicted to anything. I think it should be legal and regulated.

Just a personal belief. It's how I was raised. Drugs affect the brain in a negative way and it's not something that I agree with. But, like I said, I don't feel that I have the right to tell someone not to do it. Just like I'm not gay, but that doesn't mean that I should tell someone else to not be gay.

Thats a really controversial topic, its like for every reason why you shouldn't legalize it there's always a reason on why you should. In my own biased opinion, no I don't think it should be legalized solely based on the experience that I lost someone who I thought I considered a best friend to it. (No she didn't die) Just the relationship has been torn to pieces I feel will never be picked up again because of her marijuana habits. So yeaa

I'm not sure what Hemp is but I believe Marijuana should be legalized since it can be used for medicinal purposes and it has a chemical in it that helps patients/people with anxiety problems or mental problems more relaxed and less stressed. It's the laced Marijuana shit that shouldn't be legalized, it can make you severely sick.

 

I'm not for people abusing it though.

I agree with you there. Marijuana in its most natural form is actually very good. Hemp is similar to marijuana but could actually be used as a substitute for cotton (clothing), used for paper, and is also a biofuel.

It does not affect the human body in any harmful way and it only causes problems if the person is dumb and develops a psychological addiction which may or may not ruin their lives, but again you can get psychologically addicted to anything (i.e. porn, internet, texting, coffee)

I've heard that the original push to ban hemp came from it being an incredibly useful and cheap material, which wasn't good for business. Or something like that. I dunno.

 

I have a feeling that legalizing minor drugs like these would drive down crime rate, as people would no longer illegally acquire the drugs.

But I don't care much either way.

I honestly wish people would just shut up about marijuana. Everybody acts like it makes them so special and unique, yet act like everybody does it,/should be doing it.

And WAY too many people are obsessed with it.

My friend overdosed and she forgot everyone and the school didn't let her come back. I would do anything to talk to her again. Even if she won't remember me......
