Firaga 5,947 Posted July 18, 2012 Well, I feel like opening up to you guys today...so I'm gonna let you in on a secret. Like many, many, MANY people...I have opinions. Opinions that define me as a person and show where I stand. I know you have opinions too...and I also know that some people take your opinions, and mine, WAY out of proportion, and that ensues for us to get bashed. This is a perfect example. You know some of the stuff that calls for entertainment on TV today? The stuff that EVERYONE hates because its garbage. Well, even though I agree that most shows today are lacing quality....there are some I am going to have to say....I like. It's weird, isn't it? To like something that most of the majority of your community DESPISES. I call these shows my guilty pleasures. Why? Because I know they are crappy, in hindsight....but I still find entertainment in them for reasons I will explain to you now. 4 shows that are slandered on by the very face of humanity....I like. And that's just fine. Here they are: 1. The Total Drama series: Look, I realize CN has hit a rough patch, and bringing in this Canadian cartoon didn't exactly help...but, I guess the teen drama, old school cartoon violence, cruddy, yet seemily workable humor, and the like. Oh well. This series actually has a big fanbase anyway (mostly due to the various couples on the show, but I digress) so maybe it gets a little less shit thrown at it then the next two shows.... 2. Ridiculousness: This is pure bias, I admit it. I am a Rob Dydrek FANBOY. I really am. I thought I could deny it, but I can't. I am simply convinced that everything this man touches turns to gold. Oh, yeah, and also because Daniel Tosh is an asshole and Web Soup keeps getting canceled....but yeah. 3. Adventure Time & Regular Show: I put these shows together because they generate the same hate, mainly being because they have idiotic humor, bad animation, stupid plots, and are unfit for children who are expected to watch these shows on a network that is made for kids under the age of, like, 12. Well, sorry, but I'm a 15 year old teenage boy going on 16 in August, so I guess I can't be thrown into that crowd, can I? No, I find the stuff they put on AT and RS funny, thank you very much. I think if these shows were on, like, Comedy Central, it'd make more sense, right? My thoughts have been typed, ladies and germs. Now, it is time for YOU to spill the beans. That's right, don't be afraid to give the world a middle finger. Express yourself! The truth....shall set you free. I'm not gonna judge, and hopefully no else will (if they do, they are missing the point anyway...) but still, if you like one of the various TV programs we have today that totally piss off the vast majority of people on this world whilst YOU have no complaints for some reason....go ahead. I rarely see any hate for them because both (especially AT) have such cutesy and bubbly animation styles and humor. The show specifically came out for the tweens/teenagers who watch CN. Soooo being 15 and watching it is normal. I have family members both young kids and middle-aged adults that like these shows. Also, CC is meant for adult humor, like South Park or Always Sunny. Adventure Time & The Regular Show are both pretty clean. EDIT: Aaaand where did you hear that the animation is bad? The animation is fine. Loiter Squad. It's so stupid, but I can't stop watching them be stupid. Jesus Christ, "Loiter Squad" is the best thing ever lol. I love it so much. Of course, they usually come from the guys begging to see some Hanna-Barberra style cartoons on CN and hate anything that came after the whole CN downgrade. i.e. shows like Chowder and Flapjack. Overall, these people are right, as far as the quality shift, but I don't think they gave AT or RS a chance. Basically, I'm trying to appeal to a certain crowd, is all. Fun Fact: Adventure Time is a POST-APOCALYPTIC SERIES. It means it takes place after the end of the world.
