Didnt you know, JRPGs cant get 9's or higher this gen. They are all games unworthy of 9's that refuse to evolve, so says most reviewers.

but hey after I read all that I came up with a question ...they say that drop gauge will end and will change between sora and riku....but what if there's a place in a world those two met,but we only reach the place with one character and not the other...do we still watch a cutscene or what? http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.png...in my opinion it should have been like they change at a certain moment,without the drop gauge ...for me it would have been better to understand the story that way...in this way we can get distracted from one's story ...assuming one other thing...we finish a world with one character..than what?...do we play with the other one at this world while the first jumps to the next one? http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/smiley-confuse.png

I think it's a really fair review. I mean we are all going to be really biased here and say the game deserved higher and stuff but that's because we are genuine fans of the series.

IGN has it's fair share of bad reviewers and stuff but I find that Audrey nails every single one of her reviews spot on and she is really fair. I mean she did give it a lot of praise so I can see why people are saying 9/10 but at the end of the day it's only someone's opinion and everyone will have a different one.

When I say Gen, I mean Generation of Consoles. The PS2, DreamCast, Xbox, Gamecube, PSP, and DS were the 6th generation of consoles. The PS3, 360, Wii, 3DS, and Vita are part of the 7th gen. What I was saying is that during the 6th gen of consoles, Jrpgs were generally rated just as fairly as any other genre, but since the start of this gen (with the 360's release), reviewers have been lambasting every JRPG series for not changing, or changing too much (while many other genre's that are now popular in the west have the same issues). Rarely do you see a Jrpg this gen get rated a "9" or a "10", in fact I dont think ANY have.

0.1 points higher than Re:COM

0.5 points higher than COM, Days and Re:coded.

Actually no, the DS is for the 7th generation.

The PS3 came out in 2006 w/ the WII while Xbox 360 came out during 2005.

KH was lower than KH2 and now KH2 is at the bottom.

That gameplay taken from the game looks awesome. I wish they would tell us how to rip it like that instead of having to take off-screen videos of it for walkthroughs. Would make them look a lot better.

 

And I think the score's fine.

Oh my mistake, thanks for correcting me on that:) But my point still stands that ever since the start of the 7th gen with the 360, JRPG's haven't been getting fair treatment in comparison to other genres. While I think Audrey's review itself was nice, the score she awarded the game doesnt reflect what she actually said about the game. And I dont see how a complaint about the story being "convoluted" can be listed as a negative thing if you havent played the others. Of course a sequential story will seem hard to understand if you haven't played all the chapters. Its like reading Harry Potter's first two books, skipping 4 of the books, and then reading the last couple and saying Harry Potter is "hard to get" when its your fault for not reading all the books. KH plot makes perfect sense, if you've played the games. And her only other complaint about the camera/platforming? I'd rather have a small amount of trouble moving the camera than have games that are nigh impossible to finish because the game plays like a flip book (like some other games that need not be named and garner high praise on every release).

 

But alas, none of that really matters to me in the long run anyway, because I buy games that I want and just read reviews for general information/opinions on games. If I were to trust reviews, I would have never played the gem called Nier that was released a couple years ago

you're welcome ....they hate japan guys maybe ...they are becoming the top creators now maybe that's why ...that's why I'm playing the games all over again starting with BBS and down to KH2 bcs I don't have Re:coded yes...to re-understand the game better since now the released games are in the chronological order and re:coded and 3d:dream drop distance are after KH2...so this is great bcs the new upcoming games are sequels and not prequels like BBS
