Uncle Dolan 963 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) I hope it's just me this time, but I've gotten two 'Error 500' messages today, indicating a server error. I'm no website hosting junkie, but I think it's best for a blackout for users and the site. Giving the server a break from massive surges of log-ins should help the server(s) hosting the site out if I understand website hosting correctly. Should Daniel schedule downtown for some time? I think it'll be necessary for the upcoming international releases of KH3D soon. Please do vote above about your honest opinion on what Daniel should do. (although, it's all up to him in the end.) Lu Xun 2,069 Posted July 17, 2012 Well, if that can truly help somehow, then why not? Maybe two hours per day?
TheApprenticeofKingMickey 3,689 Posted July 17, 2012 This is really something you should talk to him directly about, imo. Not by posting a topic about it.

I know, but I also wanted to see what others thought about the idea I had as well as to see if it was just my mother's shoddy internet.
Xalaru 445 Posted July 17, 2012 Whatever helps I guess. I'm getting a lot of those messages too, so yeah.
Shana09 5,769 Posted July 17, 2012 Omg yes! I got those once today thankfully but I was on the Ipad most of the time anyways, but it never happened then... But other days I get it like 5 times a day so yeah we should have a blackout....for an hour or 2....I don't think I can survive that long of sheer boredom though/shot 1 SoraKH reacted to this

AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted July 17, 2012 Haven't gotten an Error in a long time, but with how many new members we've been getting the intake is getting kind of crazy. Maybe in the middle of the night for two hours or so. You know, during our lower traffic times, that way we don't really lose anything..
Spiney 125 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) OMG there was an entire day where I kept getting these messages. And b/c I know nothing about computers and how they work, I always just blamed it on my father who is too cheap to get a faster internet connection ((mini rant: if he did, he could watch all the soccer he wanted on livestream w/o asking me to stop watching How I met your mother on netflix >_<)). venxas24 544 Posted July 17, 2012 no way... its only on the home screen for me, everything else still works
DChiuch 5,773 Posted July 17, 2012 You're all acting like scheduled downtime is some necessary and great solution, when in reality, it wouldn't help at all. That's just not how it works. 4 Rob, venxas24, Sora96 and 1 other reacted to this

Sora96 17,256 Posted July 17, 2012 KH13 is actually down when it backs up. But you guys wouldn't know because you're asleep when it happens. These error messages can easily be fixed with Ctrl+F5. Having a time where KH13 goes down is stupid, that's a lot worse than have a few errors which can easily be fixed. Edit: Also because of time zones it would be impossible to find a suitable time for it to go down.

DChiuch 5,773 Posted July 17, 2012 I believe I've fixed the "500" errors, and "forbidden" errors. They shouldn't occur anymore. Please let me know if anyone encounters them again. 1 Sora96 reacted to this
