kristi-swat 61 Posted July 13, 2012 hey guys I was reading some answers at gamefaqs.com about when do you switch between Riku and Sora and they said it's with a timer..the drop gauge....but shouldn't they change when the time is right for them to change??...shouldn't they have a predicted time of how far you'll go with one character then switch?...bcs when we get the game and play it and at a boss fight the drop gauge ends and we play as the other character,we don't get to finish that fight and would have to start the fight all over again :SSSSS
darkchaser 788 Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) it is based off a timer. They said in interview you should be able to get about 20 minutes with a full drop meter, but you can drop whenever you want. As for dropping during a boss fight i remember reading that square fix it so the boss wouldn't regain it's health Edited July 13, 2012 by darkchaser
wayfinder823 477 Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) That's the exact point. You can end up dropping in the middle of a boss fight, and switch to the other character. If you've seen any of the walkthroughs, it happens quite a bit. Just be mindful that when you switch back, you'll restart the boss fight. (I'm not sure about items that were previously used, if they'll be reequipped or not...) A way to get out of it, though, is you can open up the menu and there should be an option to "drop." I've seen that it is best to do this when you're about to enter a boss fight, and your time is low. I believed they did this mainly for two reasons: 1) It allowed the player to play two different stories at the exact same time, unlike BBS where you played each story separately, and 2) This game is about dreams. While dreaming, (at least for me) I'm constantly switching POV, sometimes I dream in 3rd person (so it's like a movie and I can physically see myself), sometimes it's 1st person (where I'm looking through my own eyes) and sometimes, I'm a separate being. Points of View in dreams switch pretty often. So switching between characters randomly kind of helps give it that kind of feel. kristi-swat 61 Posted July 17, 2012 they say that drop gauge will end and will change between sora and riku....but what if there's a place in a world those two met,but we only reach the place with one character and not the other...do we still watch a cutscene or what? http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.png...in my opinion it should have been like they change at a certain moment, without the drop gauge ...for me it would have been better to understand the story that way...in this way we can get distracted from one's story ...assuming one other thing...we finish a world with one character..than what?...do we play with the other one at this world while the first jumps to the next one? http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/smiley-confuse.png
arlux13 5 Posted July 18, 2012 I want to know what happens after you complete the game. It seems like it'd be pretty obnoxious to force a drop when you're trying to tie up loose ends with just one character like getting to level 99 or finding treasures and whatnot
