hatok 6,413 Posted July 12, 2012 (edited) I've been watching DDD as Cyberman 65 reuploads it, and in one of the early cutscenes, Yen Sid explains the origin of all keyblades. That they were based off the X-Blade, to fight war/light/darkness, whatever. I HATE it when awesome things in series get mundane explanations that completely ruin the mystique of it. Explanations are cool, but not EVERYTHING needs it. I really didn't want to know where keyblades came from so I could pretend there was a much cooler reason Edited July 12, 2012 by hatok
KissyFace 134 Posted July 12, 2012 Wait, Cyberman is re-uploading his DDD walkthrough? Oh, just checked, he is. This is awesome news. Watching his entire subbed walkthrough felt awesome at the time, but it's kinda sad I now basically know everything about the game without playing it. Guys, you're missing the point. lol hatok's not mad about spoilers. hatok's just not happy with an explanation in KH3D about the keyblades.

Queen Tery 4,591 Posted July 12, 2012 In a way that's a spolier. But, that's not what hatok's mad about. Because, if hatok had just not given into spoilers and played the game when it came out, hatok still would've heard this explanation and still would've been upset. Whether or not it's a spoiler is irrelevant.

Dave 5,715 Posted July 12, 2012 I haven't spoiled myself for DDD just yet, but the fact that they're still trying to re-shape the entire universe just to plug the plotholes and fanfic elements of BBS annoys me to no end. What made Kingdom Hearts so great was the abstract nature of it, giving room for interpretation and making it more of an art in that way. To try and rationalize things, especially when one of the main themes of the game is the heart's unpredictable and irrational behaviour, is counterproductive. Dracozombie 4,554 Posted July 12, 2012 (edited) I prefer when things are rationalized. When important plot elements are open to our interpretation, the story can go in any direction with no rhyme or reason and we couldn't contradict them. Not what I'd consider a good story. You don't need to explain everything (and the heart's unpredictable nature has yet to be explained), but there's nothing wrong with a certain amount of stability in basic elements of the story. What's wrong with getting some answers to how the world works? Besides, if the explanation kills the amazement, perhaps it wasn't so amazing to begin with. You can know the scientific reason behind a rainbow and still enjoy its beauty, just as you can know how an airplane functions while still being amazed at how a giant hunk of metal can get in the air and take people across the world.
