"I wish I could explain properly what kind of bar this is... but this is for sure: make any ruckus an you're done for it, believe me the people in here are not afraid of magic tricks, see that guy over there?"

He looked at a bald ma with the right side of his face burnt off, wearing an eyepatch.

"He surely has survived the likes of you. And if you get into trouble here I will too for bringing you in this place..."

Shadowfallen had to think.

-Yeah I think it's time to tell him.-

"Ok... I''ll tel you why you are in danger, you have asked for my job. I will tell you but if you tell anyone you are done for it. I'm a hitman, an assassin killing people is my job, and this bar is also full of my kind, if you give anyone strange looks they won't hesitate to kill you. have you got that, mage?"

"Wow, I actually did not see that one coming," Carte said. Suddenly nervous, he asked, "I haven't looked at anybody wierd, but twelve people have to me. Is that bad?"

"As long as you don't make any ruckus you are save..."

Julian turned around and walked to Alex.

"I'm sorry for that..."

Alex facepalmed. 'This Cart Guy does need a babysitter' he laughed in his head. Alex walked over to assassin. "Grab your friend and meet me on the roof of the closed clothes store across the street. This place is too crowded for my taste.

Alex left the bar and jumped from the entrance of the club to the desired location. The moon was full. 'The tide has changed' he thought to himself. 'A new wind shall blow!'

Julian bursted into the bathroom, without asking for Carte he just kicked down a door which the mage hid behind.

He grabbed him at the arm, harsh as he was, and pulled him outside.

"We've gotta go."

He said hectically.

Shadowfallen left the bar and walked towards the spot alex mentioned.

Caius watched Julian fly out of the club, finishing his drink. He set the glass down, flagging down one of the waitresses. When she arrived, the vampire tossed a clear plastic card onto her tray. "Drinks are on me tonight, boys." Caius pushed himself up off of the sofa, straightening his jacket. "Have fun." He left the cheers behind him as he stepped through the curtains, saluting the bartender as he left the club. It was early morning and would still be dark for the next few hours. That looner from the club was nearby, atop one of the buildings across the street. The shadowmancer should be meeting him soon, as should the mage, he would imagine. Caius melted into shadow, slithering up the derelict building and waited in the corner, his shadow form conealed within the darkness. If he could just speak with the shadowmancer, perhaps this whole ordeal could be a little bit easier.

As Julian reached the top of the building through the stairway he looked up.

His connection to the darkness allowed him to feel the presence of another being.

He ignored it, If the person would jump out later it would be easy for the assassin to catch them off guard, knowing of their presence.

Shadowfallen waited for Alex.

Alex fell out of nowhere and landed in front of the two. "Glad to see you made it." Alex's wolf eyes glew yellow in the moonlight. He smiled showing his sharp canines.

"I'm looking for an assassin. He killed my pack. His an elf and almost always has a hood up hiding his face, what kind of assassin would he be if he showed his identy." Alex looked at the moon. "Seeping out of his hood is long white hair. " Alex the holds up his hand to the sky and looks at his claws. "And he has a katana..."

Julian felt offended by Alex' question "which kind of assassin he would be showing his identity."

"A damn good one..." he grumbled. Julian didn't use hoods and other methods of staying unidentified. In fact, he was thinking that too much cloaking would make an assassin even more suspicious in public. The way Shadowfallen was killing didn't allow anyone that saw his face during an assassination to survive.

"Have you any idea of his location? Or should I get back to the club gather information?"

Alex looked down. "I don't ...sorry. " he looked back up. "I lost his scent over those mountains over there. But I know he passed through this city. I only found this club because of a vampire I talked to in town square." Alex recognized the vampires scent. "In fact the vampire is close by, maybe I can talk to her again for more info as you check the club. If I need you ill find you, I know your scent." Alex leaped off the building into a dark alley way.

"A shame you're friend's so hasty." Caius stepped out of the shadows, arms extended outward. "I know exactly who he's looking for." The vampire shook his head in pity. "Then again, what can you expect from looners?" He laughed, the sound like metal nails scraping across frozen glass. "But that's neither here nor there. Actually... it's there." Caius pointed past Carte and Julian, toward a large manor in the outlying woods. "That vampire your friend was talking about is the Dominus of House Tepes, Olivier Ferencz. I happen to have some business in the area if you're up for a job, shadowmancer..."

"I, my good mage, am Caius Marus." The vampire took an exaggerated bow. "Some call me anathema, but things like that are just titles, ya know?" He straightened up with a wide, toothy grin. "And you, my shadowmancing friend, can take your payment anyway you like. You want it," Caius snapped his fingers. "I can make it happen. But first, I need you to get the job done." He turned his back to the humans, strolling around the rooftop. "You see, as Dominus, Olivier holds an ancient and powerful relic. two actually." He caught himself. "Now, my spies have brought to my attention that she intends to use these to disrupt the balance of power between vampires and the ly- werewolves. I want you to go right into her front door as guests, something she just can't turn down, and swipe 'em right out form under her nose. I'll even give you the rune you'll need to do it." Caius leaned forward, extending a hand to Julius. "Surely, someone with your talents could be through with this in a matter of minutes."

Julian was listening to the information the Vampire gave him, not looking very interested in any background story, all he wanted was the payment.

Dry on the subject he responded: "I am used to to get the payment afterwards, but still I have to ensure myself that I will receive it like in any job I take."

He opened his suitcase and in one of the many drawers he pulled out a sheet of paper.

"I know that there is now law amongst assassins, and I also know that there is no judge I can rely on, but it makes me feel better if a contract is signed, only a step of formality." He said it in the same monotone, dry voice as he was talking before.

He reached the vampire the sheet and a pen, the contract was very simple and had no hidden sentences.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After eliminating the Target:......................

The assassin will receive his payment of:....................

Julian waited for the vampire to fill out the dotted lines, greed was reflecting in his calm eyes.
