"I don't know about this," Carte said, "this seems to...simple. Eazy...cozy." He shook his head. "These things usually lead to betrayal or half-truth, not always in that order."

Julian looked down to Carte

"I'm not interested in personal relations of my clients to the targets. It's just: kill and take the payment.

The client has no benefits from betraying me, and I don't care for any background stories, that's as simple as it can get."

-Is it really a good idea taking him with me?- The assassin was thinking.

-Well this mission involves creatures I am not fund of, and he has sure learned more about magic and mythical beasts that I have... I hope I won't regret this-

"You're OK with helping me taking a life? You know, that that would make you a part of my illegal activities..."

Carte shrugged. "What no one knows won't kill me," he said. "Besides, the target's a vampire, 9/10 of them are evil. I don't mind killing someone evil. And I could use a little more cash... or a lot. I'm not asking for a fifty-fifty split, just a little, like a twelfth." He punched his hand. "I'm can do this."

"As soon as you cause me any trouble I will not pay you... if the circumstances are given it could also easily happen that I kill you... by accident. But if you stay quiet, don't get in the way and maybe even support me there is no problem with even splitting up the cash 50/50."

As Julian waited for Alex to sign the contract he enlightened a new cigarette.

Alex jumped back on to the roof. "Your back already? That was quick!" Alex looked at Jailxuns blank contract. "Is that supposed to be for me?"

"No... it's for the Vampire."

Julian made no effort remembering any names.

Caius handed the slip back to Julian, grinning. "Thanks. Why waste my own incompetant henchmen when I can just pay someone to get the job done right, eh?" He reached into his back pocket, producing a stone glyph. On its face was carved what looked to be a music note, its form distorted and jagged. "This is a Sound Glyph. Be careful, these things are damn old." He shook it toward the humans. "Vampires of House Tepes have an aversion to sounds like the kind this baby produces. One rip of it and BAM!... they're stunned." His grin was wiped away suddenly. "Leave her servants in the manor. I'll take care of them later. She keeps the Heart of Darkness on her person at all times, and you have to be careful with that too. It's only a replica of the original, but it's also the only one in existence. Also, you must remove her right arm before you kill her. Otherwise, it'll ash and there's no way in hell you're geting paid." Caius nodded over the edge of the building. "When you're ready, my boy Lock will escort you. She doesn't take kindly to non-vampiric visitors."

Julian felt mocked by the extra notes the vampire has written on the contract, but he swallowed his anger and took back the piece of paper.

Sealing it in a secret layer of his suitcase, he looked up again, the suitcase contained every preparation he needed.

Because of his own skill as a dark caster he didn't have to carry around different weapons, except for the sniper rifle that he used to stay undetected among great distance.

"I'm ready for the Job, sorry Alex, you have to wait after I'm done with this mission. I'll find a way to contact you, even if the man you are looking for gets farther away from the city, I will be able to track him down if he's among the ranks of assassins. It maybe is also good for you to know that my kind isn't accepted in the ranks of hitmen, that's why I'm in no organization. The academy I come from is like any other magic, or fighting academy, except that it encourages the students to work individual and don't get part of any group or guild. That means the dark casters are more qualitative then mere assassins and also i don't have to obey any assassin rule or codex, that is enlarging my freedom of methods to fulfill my contracts." Feeling like advertising himself like a good wine apart from a cheap packed one made him feel strange, it was part of his job to inform the clients of his quality, but he'd rather wouldn't talk that much.

(How's this for a random introduction?)

Tyson was walking through the forest with a calm and relaxed composure. He reaches into his backpack to take out a map of the area. Tyson: Hmm, the dragon I need to take out the evil renegade is supposed to live in a lake that's a few feet behind Crimson City. As long as I don't run into anyone, everything should be great. Tyson puts back where the map was at, then continues walking to the City.

"Shadow bullet type butcher, and if that doesn't work we cut it off while he isn't looking..."

Julian didn't intend to give Carte a proper explanation.

"So If you are ready we can get started..."

"Lock." Caius snapped his fingers, the muscular vampire from the bar materializing beside his master. Dark residue streamed down his bulging biceps as he crossed his arms.

"Yeah, boss?" His voice was deep, but also had a softer tone to it. Not exactly what you would expect from a vampire of his appearance. Caius turned to Lock, the twisted gleam in his eye ever-present.

"These fine gentlemen have an appointment with Lady Olivier of House Tepes. Would you please escort them?" He grinned, his demonic incisors gleaming in the setting moonlight. "You do know how she hates unaccompanied guests." He looked back to Julian and the others briefly. "Lock here is my liason with House Tepes. The House and i aren't much on... speaking terms... anymore." He turned back to his servant, muttering a few things before Lock nodded. The massive vampire moved closer to the group.

"Alright, boys. Lemme know when you're ready and I'll take you to the manor. I'm the only one here who has permission to enter the Paling. You're my guests." Lock said, gesturing to the trio. "Just gimme the word and we're off."

"Yes I am ready..."

Julian smirked...

-Oh so it's a lady... well that helps... She sure has doubles.-

Then he had to think again.

-As guest I have a huge disadvantage, I won't be able to kill her from a save distance... the easiest way would be slicing off her arm from a close distance, while carte throws a fireball... those things are affective to fire from what I know. Running from guards would be easy... Carte could die if he was left behind... not my problem although... But should I start with the operation right when I see her the first time or gain her trust... through I have a second mission it would be best killing her right at the beginning... actually this mission seems easy... my greatest enemy is the law and I don't think those vampires have policemen around... but on the other side, if she has a double it would be best if I investigate further....-

The looner was about to blurt out 'why aren't you helping me!?' But he realized that this Guy was an assassin after all. If you pay him he'll kill who you want.

"I would go with and help but that wouldn't be a good idea, being part wolf and all." Alex turned to face the moon. "But when your done," he faces them again with a smirk showing his teeth. "Ill be over on top of the club."

"Right... it won't take long, maximum are two days, but that is really the longest time it'll take if I'm lucky it's even done today."

He stepped towards the tall vampire.

"Carte let's go..."

Tyson had appeared at a crossroad that splits to three places. Tyson: Hm, the left path heads to some house; the center leads to the lake; the rigt leads to the city. It's obviouse where I'm going so... Tyson walks to the middle road heading towards the lake.

"Alright then." Lock rubbed his hands together, dark energy pooling on the concrete at his feet. "This'll only take a second." And it did. One moment they were in the middle of the city, and the next they were ina woodland clearing. An enormous mansion stood defiantly amongst the trees. There was no one out front to guard the property, or so it seemed. The putrid smell of brimstone coated the glade, a forewarning of its guardians. "You're with me, so you're good. Just stay close." Lock made his way for the front door, trying to keep Julian and Carte close-by. The vampire pressed a button next to the large double doors, which swung open promptly. A man, human presumably, answered the doorbell, golden tattoos shining across his entire body.

"Master Lock." He answered, not entirely surprised. "This way please." He gestured inside and down the long hallway. Lock motioned for the humans to enter.

"Just down the hallway, all the way to the end. I'll be right behind you guys. Got somethin' to take care of real quick."

Julian searched the parts of the mansion he was walking by for possibilities to hide from the corner of his eye.

He wasn't very impressed by the building, he just cared for the job.

Not saying a word he followed the man keeping a low profile.
