The worst restaurant experience EVER

Recommended Posts

So I was today out on city with my few good friends to celebrate my friend's birthday. Then we decided to go somewhere to eat something and went to one nice looking tex mex restaurant (My friend had been there once with his dad and said that there was good food)

First everything was looking nice and we went and took seats and then waited if waitress would come, she didn't come to give us service and we had to ask her and she was kinda annoyed that she had to service us.

Then we started to wait if we would get our food and went to take some salad. (Everything still fine)

Then we started to get annoyed since we didn't seem to get our food and there was even people who got there after us, but got their food before us.

After almost one hour of waiting:

We got our food, it was pretty good, but there was something suspicious in my friend's food:

There was fricking toothpick inside his food (dunno how that is even possible, but that is the truth)

We asked nicely fron waitress that what was going on and she was like:

"Haha, not my problem, eat or not eat it"

After we had eated we asked if we could get some kind of discount for this mistake and then she was like

"There is no good reason to give you anykind of discount. You kids just pay and go away"

Kids?

Last time I checked there wasn't any reason to give bad service to kids

And this isn't that whole restaurant was bad, everybody else ADULTS got fine service.

So I'm kinda annoyed for this, what is the damn reason to treat me and my friends like that because we aren't adults?!

That is pretty messed up. May I ask what kind of food your friend got, the one that had a toothpick in it?

Err, it had somekind of fried potato thingy and chicken with sauce. I'm certain that toothpick didn't belong to meal itself since there wasn't toothpick on my food and I got same as him.

Sorry for your terrible experience. The reason why the waitress acted this way is bc kids arent usually always the best tippers. True story .Ive worked in this industry while working and in college and can say this through experience. ..Its unfair to judge all kids as bad tippers but unfortunately this happens.

Alright, I just wasn't sure if maybe he got a sandwich or something like that. Typically, nicer restaurants do that, so I was just checking. I'm sorry that you had that experience. You probably should've asked to see a manager and then politely tell the manager. Even show the toothpick and food to the manager. Even if the waitress won't acknowledge you and get the manager, then find another employee to get you the manager.

Yeah, I'm probably gonna report to manager, would have done it right away, but ny friend (the one whose birthday was) said that we shouldn't let it ruin our day and just left.

Your friend did the right thing, things could get worse and you wouldn't want to have your birthday ruined

We were agreeing the waitress was being a bitch bc they are kids/teens and are known not to tip well.( not the person who wrote this post but in general) Its a stereotype .We both have/do work in the industry and know this happens .Im pretty sure i spelled that out in my first post .

That sounds terrible, such a shame too because you thought the food was good. At least you got your food. Once when I went out to eat with my family and the waitress brought everyones' food, but mine. I ended up getting my meal for free, but it didn't taste good and it was cold. :(

You don't have to explain that... I was just questioning all those one-word replies... Edited by ZLGNF
