The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted July 1, 2012 Hey everyone, I just wanted to express my thoughts on Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. I really loved this game because of it's very intriguing story, and I liked the card battle system, it was unique and fun. I know that most of you don't like COM that much because of the battle system, but hey, after all, this is an opinion. So anyways, I love this game because it delved deep into the plot of Marluxia and some of the Organization members that wanted to take over. I also loved this game because of the emotional moments like Sora realizing that Riku is a replica, and when Repliku got killed by Riku. I really loved this game, and my favorite boss battle has definitely got to be with Marluxia. I mean seriously, the guy has epic hair and an awesome scythe! And it also helped us understand why Sora had to go to sleep. So guys, what do you think of this game, and what are your favorite moments or battles from this game? =) 8 Setrex, khoathkeeper13, LightningXIII and 5 others reacted to this
Queen Tery 4,591 Posted July 1, 2012 I did not enjoy the card system. I though that while it was interesting of them to try something new, it just wasn't fun. I did enjoy the story and I fairly enjoyed the remake for the PS2. 1 burnsideking24 reacted to this

HarLea Quinn 26,501 Posted July 1, 2012 Re:CoM was the best version . The card system might be intimidating at first , but once you got the hang of it , it was quite fun imo. 2 Demyx. and Weiss reacted to this

Ultimus Grid 546 Posted July 1, 2012 I thought the battle system was okay. But I really liked the last two battles for Soras' story. The songs in both of them were very cool to me.

Fates Chance 60 Posted July 1, 2012 The first kh game I ever played was com for gba. My sis bought it and she was playing it on a plane and I was watching over her shoulder and kept asking what was going on with the characters in the story when she really had no idea either when she finished I played it to nearly the end when she took it back and didnt let me play it for a long time. She lost it and I never finished it but I loved the gba version. I loved the dialogue and giving the characters voices in my head. Then my sis and her friend urs later were playing kh2 and I came it just when we first meet axel and I was like: 0-0 OMG!!! That's that guy from the gba game!!! I must play!!!" and that's how I got hooked. .....way longer than I intended but ahhhh fond memories.... 1 IsaTheTroll reacted to this
hatok 6,413 Posted July 1, 2012 The GBA version is the best in my opinion. It's lear that it was BUILR for the card system, so I tihnk it works better. It's pretty clear they're reusing KH1 and 2 assets in Re:CoM, which don't really fit the card system. For this, and many other reasons, the GBA version will always be the best
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted July 1, 2012 I have both versions. It's cool to see the comparison between one game system and the other. I loved the PS2 remake because it added one more fight in the Final Boss battle against Marluxia! =D 1 doom reacted to this
Sora_Roxas26 124 Posted July 1, 2012 i have both versions of Chain of Memories but the card system sucks if you ask me
Rob 5,571 Posted July 1, 2012 I liked Re:COM because it made the game feel darker. Also, Aqua made us play with cards.
Nweintraub 630 Posted July 1, 2012 This game wasn't good. It was AWESOME! Although I only have the remake of it, not the gba version. I also just have the PS2 remake & not the original gameboy version, because I don't have a Gameboy.
Firaga 5,947 Posted July 2, 2012 I remember the commercial advertising the GBA version...and years later I bought the PS2 version from a friend for 10 bucks (Best purchase ever, I might add). I enjoyed the game a lot, especially Reverse/Rebirth Mode (Riku = beast).I still have the copy, as well as other PS2 games on my person albeit an actual PS2 (The old guy gave out....shame.) Anyways, the game itself is pretty decent...I thought the card system was fine, although I would have tweaked it so it can play a little bit more smoothly...the story was good too. All and all, there's only two things that pissed me off: 1) No Deep Jungle (Damn you, Burroughs....), and 2) Vexen....sucks....dick. The latter of the complaints is only due to my hatred of facing Vexen in Twilight Town TWENTY....FRICKIN....TIMES. But despite that....the game's alright. Elijah Gravenhorst 480 Posted July 2, 2012 I really liked the card system since it forces you to slow down and think about what your doing instead of just hacking away.
ZLGNF 33 Posted July 2, 2012 Well, I really think COM's hate should be be redirected to firetrucking Days... I loved COM and Re:COM gameplay... At the time, it was the game that had the most abilities in the series The only problem is how insignificant the Disney worlds can be... 1 hatok reacted to this
Cyokee 0 Posted July 3, 2012 I really liked the card system since it forces you to slow down and think about what your doing instead of just hacking away. I have the same opinion, of all the games I've played in the series (KH, Re: COM, KH2, and... Days), it had my favorite combat system. I can set my victory up in peace and then watch it go like a clockwork. It's awesome. And even if I were in an inferior position (the most memorable being against Ursula when I was Riku and used up almost all my cards in sleights except a couple of 1s and 2s and a single zero card), if I used my cards cleverly I could still come out on top (I learned a lot about card breaking from that battle). earth_angel 73 Posted July 5, 2012 I have both versions but my DS broke before I could get into the original game, so I only played the remake. Loved the storylines, especially since back then I didn't know you'd get to play a part as Riku as well. Imagine my surprise

venxas24 544 Posted July 6, 2012 I liked GBA version better cuz you could ssee the whole screen. This is my 3rd favorite KH behind the first and Days. I really like the cards system and EXP system. The story was also amazing. I realy liked how you could make the world however you want. So if you like the enemies in that world then you can choose to battle more or if you're in a place like Atlantica(i hate the fish enemies) then you can just get a lot of treasure from that world. It was an awesome game
Gambler'sApprentice 131 Posted August 18, 2012 I have mixed feelings about it. Re:CoM is the only one I've played, and I like the card sytem, but the story seems to bog down in places, and each world talking to Sora about false memories and the like makes him seem REALLY stupid. The other problem was that I felt the need to get 100% completion on Expert mode. Including leveling up all the way. Since in this game defating either character's end boss nets you a whopping 0 exp that meant if I was playing as Sora I had to wander the top floor mega flaring everything I could find, while Riku, who was at a lower level, had to actually fight everything. But probably my favorite part would be Marluxia's 3rd form, with the Reaper behind him and everything, it managed to do the impossible, make him look like a guy. But this game, and coded too for that matter both suffer from a feeling that if Nomura had wanted to he could have just created a cut scene that told us everything we needed to know.
