Dave 5,715 Posted July 1, 2012 English. And if not English, silent with subtitles. 1 Zola reacted to this
The Protagonist 332 Posted July 1, 2012 I prefer the Japanese voices (I assume they are going to have subtitles right) over the English it just sounds better to me. This.
AntonioKHT 449 Posted July 1, 2012 I'd prefer to have Japanese voice and English subs, because Japanese is so cool, but I don't a word they're saying...
Nisra 6 Posted July 1, 2012 I prefer English over Japanese as I hate having to go through an entire game reading subtitles as I love seeing good cutscenes. I'm going for KH as an example. All games aren't like this but I don't think most of the KH Japanese voices (Especialy Sora and Roxas' voices) don't fit the characters as well as english voices do. I guess I'm just like this *shrug* I dunno.
moonlightmidnight 14 Posted July 1, 2012 I like both Japanese and English.
VentusRoxas 73 Posted July 1, 2012 I prefer English to play, but if English hadn't been released yet, then Japanese is great just as long as it has subtitles
OtakuCyrus 1 Posted July 1, 2012 English unless the voice acting is terrible or Vic Micnogna has a role then Japanese.
burnsideking24 256 Posted July 1, 2012 If the English voice acting is good, I wouldn't mind. But if there's a Japanese option with English subtitles, I'd go for that.
Weedanort 8,786 Posted July 1, 2012 English of course. I don't understand a bit of japanese.
Roxas_Wagner 174 Posted July 1, 2012 I don't speak Japanese, but if theres English subtitles I couldn't give a toss =) I would try it for sure!
_The Door To Light_ 1,507 Posted July 1, 2012 As long as I can understand what they're saying. But usually I like English better since, as Ertyx posted, I can pick out the voice actors.
DG20 67 Posted July 1, 2012 I will admit that I have trouble distinguishing some Japanese voice actors voices but I do feel that Japanese voice actors put more effort and emotion into their work. If I have the option to play a game with Japanese cutscenes and english subs I will play that.
Matthew 74 Posted July 1, 2012 English.I don't speak or understand Japanese.English subtitles aren't good enough.Nor is any other language because I can't speak or understand any other languages.I should be able to speak and understand Spanish,I can't and don't because I just did not take my Spanish classes online If your confused, don't ask,its too long of a story. I prefer English voice acting. This may sound odd, but most Japanese voices sound too similar to me. I usually have trouble telling them apart, but I can usually pick out English voice actors, simply by hearing them voice a character. Ha no way I understand.I'm in progress of watching an anime called Nagasarete Airantou (good anime btw),and except for the one guy and one of the girls,I can't tell the difference between them. 1 Queen Tery reacted to this
J. Severe 1,137 Posted July 2, 2012 (edited) Neither. German FTW. I don't have any games with Japanese voice acting, so I guess I prefer English. It's nice to have the option to listen to both though. Edited July 2, 2012 by J. Severe
Arietomas 15 Posted July 2, 2012 I prefer English but if I can't play it in English then I'll play it in Japanese with English subtitles
Samantha Dominis 25 Posted July 2, 2012 I prefer English, but I don't mind Japanese if there are English subtitles and there isn't an English version of whatever I am playing or watching. After a while of listening to the voices and reading the subtitles, in my head, it sounds like the Japanese voice actors are speaking English instead of Japanese. DreamDropStorm 31 Posted July 2, 2012 I love both but their Japanese voices have more emotion to me.
Firaga 5,947 Posted July 2, 2012 English, Japanese, Spanish, Chinese, Pig Latin ( )....doesn't matter to me as long as I can interpret it. UNLESS.....you're the Ocean company,,,and then I have to throw my TV out the window and clean out my EARDRUMS.
Zenithia 305 Posted July 2, 2012 tutti frutti. I must be the only one who noticed that Lu Xun didn't do this poll for the day, not that I'm complaining in any particular way. Moving on to the thread at hand, I'm not really picky between Japanese and Enlish, though if I had more of a preference I would have to go more towards Japanese since their VAs seemed to have more emotion to their characters than the ones in English. AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted July 2, 2012 I don't really care. The Japanese VA's usually sound better, and I can usually figure out what's going on through subtitles or just paying attention to events. English is really just convenient.

Always 309 Posted July 2, 2012 If I could understand Japanese perfectly, I would definitely choose Japanese over English. But, alas, I'm still not very good with the language.
