Thankfully there were still good cartoons, but as Wuver said it was when they started to die . (Pokemon and Sailor Moon FTW!) This sounds like it may ring a bell though... And when we're older, the kids who grew up between 2000-2010 are gonna be like, wow, these are the best shows ever! And all the other ones sucks. And it'll go on and on.
