Wickedwriter13 9 Posted June 23, 2012 Okay I don't want to complain and or vent about this but I need to get it off my bloody mind. I'm a writer (yeah duh -__- ) but I HAVE SO MANY PROBLEMS WHEN IT COMES TO WRITING. You need a short fantasy story for English in a week? Sure! I can do that in no time! Here's a good idea with details and a plot and blah blah blah. Then after that's done I try to write about my bigger ideas, the ideas that spawn great distances and have chapters. Uh, NO. See the big great problem I have is that I have so many dang ideas running rampant in my head that I can't just PICK ONE. I'll try and then it just doesn't turn out right. I'll be focused for a good week, plotting things out in my head and all, and then out of nowhere I'll completely lose focus and what do you know I'm right back where I started. A mess of awesome ideas and me standing around in the middle of all of them, not able to pick just one. This seems like a major rant and I'm sorry -___- But does anyone have any advice they could give?
Queen Tery 4,591 Posted June 23, 2012 (edited) Try combining ideas from many story ideas into one story. That's how I wrote my story "Eva." Edited June 23, 2012 by Ertyx
Wickedwriter13 9 Posted June 23, 2012 Try combining ideas from many story ideas into one story. That's how I wrote my story "Eva." Great advice ^^ And I actually have done this. I found (after some thinking) that some of my ideas would work great with some of my other ideas. I ended up combining said ideas and got one product out of it. The problem is is that there are still several rouge stories running circles in my head. And there's no way I could combine them It would be not only be poor writing but complete and utter chaos. The ideas simply won't mesh together. Thank you for taking the time to respond http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/happy.png
Weedanort 8,786 Posted June 23, 2012 Try to do what I do when I have to write an essay. Write all of your ideas on a sheet of paper and decide which idea is better. It works for me.

Lu Xun 2,069 Posted June 23, 2012 Combine some nod them, and take out like two hours per day to write a little about it... Or just write them all down and see which combinations could make your story excellent
Oishii 3,987 Posted June 23, 2012 The story of my life Maybe just writing out the plot synopsis and character profiles of your ideas can help out. Sure it's not creatively writing out the story to be delivered to others, but at least you're getting it out of your system. But don't fret about not being able to write them all because chances are you won't. Just enjoy the company in your head and try to decide on what to write next based on which one you think you can deliver the best.
SummerRain 185 Posted June 23, 2012 pick whichever one would be easier to write a exposition, plot, climax, etc. cuz whenever i try to think of a story, i can only think of one part of it. thats why i have no stories on here...YET so just pick a story when you have the main points of the story figured out. But, if you find that there are ideas you have that just aren't working out, ditch them. Or write them down and then forget about them. That way you'll always have them written down if you want to come back to them.

That way you'll always have them written down if you want to come back to them. That makes sense. I'll just have to suck it up and start cutting things down and putting them away for later use. Thanks again ^^ Edited June 24, 2012 by Wickedwriter13 1 Queen Tery reacted to this
heartless101 83 Posted June 26, 2012 Write out a brainstorm and then once you put out all your ideas eliminate what you think won't flow in your writing.
