Aaron 579 Posted June 22, 2012 Square Enix have announced that a new Kingdom Hearts soundtrack is to be released. The soundtrack, called the Kingdom Hearts 10th Anniversary Fan Selection -Melodies & Memories-, will be released in Japan on September 19, 2012 for a price of ¥3,500 (approximately US$43.65). Square Enix have also created a page for the soundtrack on their e-STORE. The track listing of the soundtrack will be decided by fans! In order to vote for what songs you want to appear on the soundtrack, you can visit the soundtrack's official website and select the song there. The voting period is between June 22, 2012 and July 8, 2012. You can actually have a listen to a sample of every single Kingdom Hearts song from the website, so we highly recommend that you check it out and vote! Update 1: SQEX.INFO have translated Yoko Shimomura's comments regarding the soundtrack, and these comments can be read below. Hello, this is Yoko Shimomura, I’m in charge of the series’ music. For always playing the Kingdom Hearts games, and then listening to the soundtracks, thank you so much. So! To commemorate the 10th anniversary, this project will contain the best tracks of the Kingdom Hearts series. Plus, we’ll be recording the songs chosen by you guys! I’m happy about it, but I’m also super nervous. Which songs will be chosen? Which songs will unfortunately be chosen? Lol. And maybe put at least one other epic track from BBS, like Rage Awakened, or something. I don't know if I'd spend $43 on 10 songs anyway, so I'll just secretly hope the originals (as in what I already own) are best.
