The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted June 22, 2012 Guys, I need major help. As you all know, I have Dissidia Duodecim, and I battle with my neighbor and best friend Dennis as well as my cousin Gerson. I am very skilled, but they have analyzed my battle tactics and have used them against me! Don't get me wrong, I still beat them, but my winning record went from 70% to 68%. Gerson's record is 67%, and Dennis's record is 65%. I know of lots of different strategies, for example. I use Warrior of Light's Bitter End attack and I then use my Aerith assist and then strike again. With Garland I use the Bardiche bravery attack and afterwards use my Gabranth assist and wait for the combo to almost finish so I can use Tsunami. With Onion Knight, I use Guiding Swipe and then I use Vaan so I can do yet another HP attack. I can keep going on and on with the strategies I have, but I just put these so you guys know how I battle more or less. So, do any of you guys have any good strategies that I can do with the following characters? Kain Highwind Lightning Warrior of Light Cecil Firion Garland Onion Knight Golbez Sephiroth Gabranth Prishe Gilgamesh These are the characters I am best at using, so can you please tell me what strategies I can come up with for these characters, so I can pummel my rivals? 1 doom reacted to this
Number XV 490 Posted June 22, 2012 ooh, Cecil. I've found it very useful to use Cecil's paladin, form, and 'ttack and 'odge as I call it. Use Cecil's varied midair attacks, as you can dodge almost immediately afterwords. Keep to the air as Cecil. I've never had good experiences with Sephiroth, but eh. Gobez doesn't have varied attacks, but his laser beams are great. Firion is great too, and his nice varied attacks are brilliant. I've found myself using 'weaponmaster' a lot. Gabranth is nice, but he takes a while to charge up against good opponents, so approach with caution. Other then that, I've found myself loving Onion Knight, mostly because of his speed. Use it wisely. 190 hours into Duodecim and still going strong.
Khrulesbbs 574 Posted June 22, 2012 well these players can be played in many ways personally i use prishe, golbez, and sephiroth as my mains so those r the only ones i can give real help with Prishe is not at all a long range fighter so never try and use her as such , master her abilities to chain her combos and use jecht's assist with each tim u slam ur opponent into the wall or ground and when u use her make sure u use the right move for the job if not your screwed Sephiroth can be played like a pro or like a spammer both will let u win if u wanna win spam just spam shadow flare in the air and you get the rest and if you wann play him well theres no real strategy , it takes timing with him and golbez is pretty easy i dont see how you cant use him
Wolfgang 735 Posted June 22, 2012 With Lighting i would always try to use flourish of steel. Also her spinning attack can be used with Kuja's assist which then you use crushing blow.

KissyFace 134 Posted June 22, 2012 (edited) Kain - Spam Jump, it's literally punishable, and if it is charged, you can dodge cancel when you get to the top. Also, kain's falling speed makes him hard to dodge punish. Generally, the consensus is Bravery attack>Kuja assist>Rising Dive. Lightning - Spam Thunder. It produces a ton of EX force, so a build that has the Heaven's Cloud katana, and white gem+Tenacious attacker in the accesories slot are helpful to her. Generally, people use this combo: Thunder (2 hits)>Kuja assist>Assist chase>Thunderfall. Warrior of Light - Generally a ground character, so pressure your opponents with White Fang. If they get hit by White Fang and you are close enough, you can combo that into Ascension, then into Rune Saber. Ascension is WoL's best friend since it is fast, produces good EX force, and has an HP link. For his air game, use Shield Strike and Rising Buckler, and punish your enemies attacks with then, then connect them into Bitter End. Make sure to always have aerial Dayflas as well. Cecil - Use him primarily on the ground, for his Dark Knight mode, and make sure to have Shadow Bringer. Pressure with Dark cannon, and stay on your opponent with Valiant Blow. Mix it up if they try to block by delaying your attacks and punishing their blocks, or use Shadow Bringer to crush their guards. His paladin form is rather punishable compared to his Dark Knight form. Also, use Dark Flame when your opponent is over your head. Firion - My main character, lol. Stay on the ground and use Rope Knife to punish stuff. That's basic Firion. Onion Knight - Equip Side by Side and punish your opponent's attacks with his HP links. That's much of what you need to know. Golbez - Stay on the ground at all times if possible, and punish attacks with glare hand. If the enemy is using an attack with long startup, use Rising Wave. Also, Rising Wave cannot be blocked. if they get close, or try to dodge punish you, use Nightglow. Nightglow is Golbez's best HP attack, period. Also, equip him with Side by Side. Sephiroth - Spam Shadow Flare to make your opponent come to you and fight you in the air. After this, use Oblivion and Sudden Cruelty to punish your opponents attacks. Since Sephiroth's attacks are generally rather slow, he is more defensive, which is what Shadow Flare is for. To make your opponent attack. Standard combo is Sudden Cruelty (1 hit)>Kuja assist>Heaven's light. Gabranth - Don't really play this character, but use Omni Air dash to get away from your opponent (or your bravery atacks to knock them away) and charge your bravery. then wait for a good time to use your EX, and devastate them. Like catch them off guard, or quickly go into EX mode and punish them. Gabranth also has moves that guard break opponents. Prishe - Spam One Inch Punch. It can be charged, it breaks guards, does a ton of damage, and is very hard to punish. One Inch Punch and Raging Fists are her staple bravery attacks. Gilgamesh - A lot of ways to approach playing this character. Edited June 22, 2012 by KissyFace

Vanitas 127 Posted June 22, 2012 (edited) Kain... my best character. Here's two ridicuolously (In my opinion) op combos. Onion Knight assist btw 1. Hit Crashing Dive, making sure you stomp them onto the ground. Onion Knight assist. And right as the last Blizzard hits and knock them up, use rising drive. 2. Kinda of the same as the first. Hit Celestial Shooter making sure you hit them against the ceiling of the map and then hit Sky Rave. Its so good its almost unfair. And if i remember correctly, theres a combo that works with Gilgamesh and Gabranth. Hit Tsubamegaeshi and when the enemy hits the ground, Gabranth assist. RIght when you recover go for Tsubamegaeshi again and this time when the enemy hits the ground, Gabranth should have just finished his combo and will nail the last hit ( knockback ) on the enemy. If that last hits slams them into a wall you can go HP attack on them. And Lighting. If i remember right, if you are close enough when you hit Aeroa, you can hit Lighting Strike right afterwards. There was something else with Blizzara and Thunderfall that i cant remember. Edited June 22, 2012 by Vanitas
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted June 23, 2012 (edited) Thanks for your help guys! Thanks to your helpful tips I was able to lower my best friend/rival Dennis's winning record to 64% and I almost have my cousin Gerson's record at 66%. Now I'm officially on edge in Dissidia Duodecim! And hey guys, I found a new trump card! Squall Leonhart is frickin awesome to use. And I have an awesome combo with him. Well actually, a few. So for those looking for new combos, read here. Squall Leonhart: Combo 1: Use Thunder Barret, then follow up with Upper Blues, then use Kuja Assist and then finalize with Aerial Circle. Combo 2: Use Thunder Barret, then use blasting zone. Combo 3: Use Thunder Barret, then use the bravery attack in which he does a lot of strikes and then initiates a chase sequence.( I forgot the name of this bravery attack). Combo 4: Use Thunder Barret, then hammer away with Revolver Drive and surf all around Order's Sanctuary! LOL, I really need to upload one of my battle replays so I can show you just how well Leon surfs. Mowahahaha, now I shall once again be the most supreme Dissidia player!
