Okay guys, everyone has a view on this...even if you're an atheist. So, what do you think?

Talking about religion isn't the best idea in the world on forums.

A while ago there was a conversation that wasn't about religion directly, but it broke out into a semi-religious argument debating whether or not God's way was the right way, or whatever bs it was.

I mean, it's not like it got too ugly or anything, but it gave that specific thread a certain tense air, you know.

Well, I agree...but it seems that on THE MOST popular Kingdom Hearts forum, their Religious thread has done well. And what's wrong? I just want to see how people differ in this aspect and why they believe what they believe. But...I know everyone has a different opinion even if we're in the same religion, and I know we're more mature than to fight about it and flame. So, let's give it a shot.

Well, I agree...but it seems that on THE MOST popular Kingdom Hearts forum, their Religious thread has done well. And what's wrong? I just want to see how people differ in this aspect and why they believe what they believe. But...I know everyone has a different opinion even if we're in the same religion, and I know we're more mature than to fight about it and flame. So, let's give it a shot.

 

Copying other forums, tsk tsk.

You could be the most mature person, and yet your opinions may get the best of you.

One opinion leads to another, and then another, and on and on...

And of course people have the right to reply to an opinion with their own opinion, which may be the complete opposite opinion of another person...

And then the arguments break out. <3

I will not flame you for this, but there is a word for believing without seeing. It's called faith...it's almost like believing the best will come out of something. Faith has pulled me through the death of my father and grandmother, the miracle of my little brother living, my mom living through breast cancer, my older brother living through a battle with drugs...pretty much every bad thing.

I've always thought it was to make us stronger and bring us together with the people who we do have. And when we lose someone, it makes us appreciate who we DO have. Why don't you talk to JesusFreak about that part?

Assuming their IS a single "God," I would say the world is his playhouse and we are his dolls.

Well, I'll get into this conversation and idc if it's starts a huge argument. I don't mind discussing religion at all. As long as we're discussing Christianity. I really don't understand other religions.

 

Before i say anything else, I'm saying that I'm a 100% Christian, and not a religious one either. I'm not one of those ppl who say that they're going to Heaven just b/c I go to church and pay my tithes. That's not right. I'm a girl of God who loves Him and has seen miracles because of Him.

I wouldn't call u an atheist, Luzze. An atheist is a person who is TOTALLY against God in every way possible. It least, that's what i understand. I would just call u a regular person, like Kairi said, she calls herself "Me or human" that's a good way to put it.

And God doesn't let people suffer. We let ourselves suffer. It's kind of hard to explain. Like, say a dude...let's call him Joe... Let's say Joe is a person who's really not into God. Says He's just not real and that's that. So if Joe doesn't believe in God and doesn't except him for Who He is, Joe then wonders why bad things keep happening to him in his life. Like he gets sick a lot or is family isn't getting a long, or he can't make payments. That's not God's fault, that's Joe's fault b/c since he chooses not to except God, God's not there to bless him in his life. God's not a god who sits up in the clouds and plays puppet with mankind. He doesn't make people's life miserable just for fun. That's not God, that's the devil. Its the devil who makes our lives a living hell. He wants us to think God's a god who let bad things happen when the devil is doing those bad things himself. That's the devil's job, to cause mayhem.

Okay then, let's look at a common everyday person who DOES believe in God, and yet their life is total shit.

My friend already had a crappy life prior to her accident, and then one day she got into a car accident (one of those damn drunk drivers). Now she lies in the hospital, mentally and physically disabled. She's now paralyzed in the legs and she can't eat (like...the part of her brain that told her how to swallow and stuff doesn't work anymore, so she gets fed through a tube).

She was like you, I guess. 100% Christian. She was super religious, and I was super not, so religion was something we just didn't bring up with each other.

Where's her "God" when she needs him?

Apparently, God is just making her life hell.

 

Its the devil who makes our lives a living hell. He wants us to think God's a god who let bad things happen when the devil is doing those bad things himself. That's the devil's job, to cause mayhem.

The Dover Demon was this...really strange...bony looking creature that I caught from the corner of my eye while my mom and I were driving past some woods in Massachusetts. If there really is a devil in the world, I'll place my bets on that thing being it.

The view of the same "God" changes with each religion, with Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc because I'm terrible with naming religions...

 

And I can back up the "Jews" here because I grew up Jewish, lol.

Really, God just kept asking the Jews for a shitload of crap, gave us the Torah written in a language only MOSES could friggin read, and then sent us to a land of freedom. Then the SAME GOD seemed to have missed Jews with Romans with the whole putting Jesus to a cross thing.

And allow me to point out that THIS SAME GOD previously was A-OK with allowing the Jews suffer through slavery for over 2,000 years in just Ancient Egypt.

(Don't believe me that's the same God? Christianity is based off Judisim. Which is ironic, in a way...)
