Final Fantasy Versus XIII - Wait

Recommended Posts

tutti frutti. Fellow member LightningXIII, unknowingly compelled me to create this thread, so I am sharing credit with her. Moving on, this stems from a thread about whether Versus XIII will be at this years TGS. So my question to you is this, are you still waiting for any and all possible new pertaining to Versus XIII, or have you given up any hope of ever seeing the game come to light? For me, I have practically lost hope on this game due to not receiving any information about this game in who-knows-how-long. Plus the 6 year mark was last month with no knowledge about how far the game is, an idea on when it will be finished, etc. Though I vaguely remember reading that Nomura was into 100% production of the game, but to me that's not enough if we don't have the info we deserve to help tide us over for game release. I know that great things need time to build/create, but this is ridiculous.

I am still looking forward to this game. If it doesn't come out then I can't be disappointed, because I don't know enough about it to feel like I've really lost anything. lol

Losing hope on Versus means losing hope on KH3. I want KH3.

tutti frutti. In a sense Square HAS been able to produce two Final Fantasy games, plus a couple KH games, among other games, all while working on Versus XIII. If all of that is possible under a 6 year span, I can see them being able to work on KH3 in some way while still working on Versus XIII, in a sense.

Though, those KH games were developed by the Osaka team, not the KH team, who are working on Versus, and stopped development on that for FF 13 and 13-2. KH3 won't begin development(or full development) until Versus is finished(which you know).

Well, I've watched a few trailers, including a game play trailer. Which leads me to believe that i shouldn't lose hope on anything of this game. It looks absolutely fantastic and I would love to see this game come to the light and show us just what a game should be like. Square-enix in my opinion will be able to fight against any competition that competes against it. If you can't tell I have high hopes for this game, I mean by just what I have actually seen of it.

Chances are at this rate they wont stick to the original plan and will start on KH3 development before Versus is finished. Just because they said they would wait until after it was done 3 or so years ago doesnt mean its carved into stone. They are going to end up losing money on Versus anyway. They need another big title to earn them more money, and KH3 is so anticipated it would certainly garner big profits. It may be wishful thinking, but I honestly think its the best move business wise.

tutti frutti. And to me that very well bugs me to this day. Why stop development for two other FF games when they could very well have been working on Versus during that same period of time? FF XIII and XIII-2 took a shorter period of time to create, finish and put out on shelves. We got all of that in a shorter period than us getting info on just Versus. Part of me is hoping for what Loki stated and that KH3 is finished before Versus, esecially if they are will do stop/postpone production for one project for two others. At the very least we got info on XIII and XII-2 in a more timely manner. Instead of waiting for the main team to work on KH3, why not just give the Osaka team strict instructions on what should be worked on for the game, and check in regularly to make sure everything is going as it should?

Thanks for the credit zhill05 :)

No problem, LightningXIII. Though I can't remember the thread, you made a very good point about how crazy it is to announce this game for the PS3, and in turn give up virtually no information about it for over half a decade. If Square is going to put a 100% effort into making this game, and there is still no info on it whatsoever, then at least through my eyes, there is something seriously wrong here. If Versus is, as Square put it, being given 100% concentration, I would think that the game would have a higher priority than XIII and XIII-2.

That's Square for you. Working on one game then stop development on that to focus on other games. The Osaka team has only worked on the PS2, and handheld titles. Plus, Square has stated they are trying to figure out the PS3(ex: FF13 you had no free movement), which is difficult, hence having the KH team work on Versus to better understand it and make KH3 an even better game. I'm sure if it was that simple, we wouldn't have to wait for the KH team to finish Versus.

I’ve been studying the game process lately and I have this thing where I study the creators and what I have to say is……

Square will most likely develop the game along with other small titles as time continues, but then comes the failure of hope. Due to this they have three chances 1. FFV13, 2.KH3, or 3. TWEWY2 (which I can sense they are working on secretly)

Because of the lack FF has been giving off lately they’ll most likely want to make this big and keep working on it, but because of the player’s impatience they will have to begin KH3 sooner than expected. So to give a sneak peak of what KH3 could look like they’ll bring out FFV13 three months before KH3. But If both games fail the downfall due to the long wait Square will only have one chance before reaching downfall and they will most likely use this chance to bring TWEWY2 to rise up again. But all this will most likely not happen till 2016 which is when new systems will be brought in.

Things to worry about-

1. Since the FFV13 takes place in the future what will it cause for other FF games and how will it effect the series.

2. Will this cause problems for Gamers and their systems?

Well I hope this made somewat sense :D
