Amres 3 Posted June 9, 2012 (edited) Okay, so I'd like some help on getting a new laptop but I'm not sure what to get. My current laptop is a bit old actually but it is still decent for gaming and working. Budget: $1100 or lower I have considered getting a desktop but I favor laptops primarily because of their portability. Intel i7 Quad-core processor. It should be powerful enough to play games like Skyrim 60fps on high settings @ 1280X720. If you are doing multimedia work like photoshop and so on, Just add another 4GB Ram. It doesn't cost much. Other than that, you're good. =)
Sora96 17,256 Posted June 10, 2012 I'm too lazy/tired to choose which is better. http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Satellite-P755-S5385-15-6-Inch-Laptop/dp/B005KP0Y24/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1339335904&sr=8-5 http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Portege-R835-P81-13-3-Inch-Laptop/dp/B005KP070I/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1339335904&sr=8-

kalnet 1,198 Posted June 10, 2012 Thanks for the suggestions guys! Yeah, I will definitely be doing multimedia work but isn't 4GB of Ram enough? Nope it isn't if you are doing Multimedia. 8GB Ram is the sweet spot for most heavy PC users. Its also safe for future hassle from lagging and so on and so forth. An extra 4gb Ram doesn't cost much. It cost around 20-30 USD depending on where you are living.

kalnet 1,198 Posted June 11, 2012 New York; I probably would buy a laptop that comes with 8 GB of Ram rather than upgrading it. You won't find a mid-range laptop that comes with 8GB ram. Only high-end laptops, unless it comes with a promotion or like I said, depending on where you are living and how they sell their laptops. It is very easy to upgrade a ram on your own. You can watch some tutorial videos on youtube to see how they upgrade the ram, but if you are buying at a store, then you can just ask the staffs to do it for you. Sora96 17,256 Posted June 11, 2012 The ones I linked you to both have six gigs of RAM. And you can easily add more.
