Tails 6,692 Posted June 7, 2012 I need help with a choice that is difficult for me to make. Okay, so as you know I recently stated in another thread that my Wii died on me RIGHT when I bought Xenoblade Chronicles (which is now sitting here in my room just waiting for me to play it. And I want to play it so bad right now). Well, I was thinking about buying another Wii just so i can play it along with finishing Skyward Sword on Hero Mode (if there is any way to transfer all your data from your Wii to another Wii console. I would hate to do all that stuff again just to unlock Hero Mode again). But then there's the Wii U coming out which also plays Wii games. But the Wii's at my local Super Target are selling the Black Wii console for $150.00 new that comes with New Super Mario Bros. Wii (a game which I already have). So what should I do? Get a new Wii system or just wait for Wii U and let copy of Xenoblade Chronicles sit there while getting dusty?
Iamkingdomhearts1000 1,170 Posted June 7, 2012 Get the WII U and just keep Xenoblade Chronicles nice and clean, i mean, it's not going to break from becoming dusty after a while, am i right
Zoro317 111 Posted June 7, 2012 Well, it's going to be a while before the Wii U is released. I would buy a new Wii while the price is still affordable.
kalnet 1,198 Posted June 7, 2012 Wii U is just another 4-5 months away so why not wait for it. If we were to wait for the Wii U for another year then I would say otherwise, but since its coming out this year. Its really best to wait and save your extra $150 for Wii U games and so on and so forth.
lizzie1238 538 Posted June 7, 2012 Don't buy the Wii for $150, that's a rip off. See if you can find a cheaper one, otherwise just wait for the Wii U.

Matthew 74 Posted June 8, 2012 What makes it a rip off? The Wii-U plays Wii games and you can use that 150 dollars for Wii or Wii-U games or various other things. It just doesn't seem that worth it for 150 dollars. But hey its YOUR money.

Fair enough. Don't buy the Wii for $150, that's a rip off. See if you can find a cheaper one, otherwise just wait for the Wii U. Just called GameStop and they said that a used Wii is $99.99. SHould I just go ahead and buy a Wii at that price or is it still a rip-off? Edited June 8, 2012 by Tails 1 Matthew reacted to this

Sounds like a good price. But be warned, if you ever want to sell it (like when you get a Wii U) gamestop only gives you like $20 for it.

I already have enough money for the Wii U. So for me it doesn't really matter. But thanks on the advice Lizzie. I'll gio ahead and see when i can go and buy a used Wii. Vanitas 127 Posted June 8, 2012 Im fairly certain the wii has a hard drive? If it does (to lazy to check) just use that and a new wii.
lizzie1238 538 Posted June 8, 2012 Im fairly certain the wii has a hard drive? If it does (to lazy to check) just use that and a new wii. It has a small amount of storage on it, I'm pretty sure that's not a hard drive. But if your save files are on an SD card or the old Wii works enough to move the save files to an SD card, you can put it in the new Wii.
A mystery 346 Posted June 8, 2012 I would just wait to buy the Wii U. I don't think it's really that long of a wait and you will save money. 1 Sora96 reacted to this
Sora96 17,256 Posted June 8, 2012 The Wii is about $150 here in Australia when it's on special. Lol. Just wait for the Wii U. The Wii is a big waste of money now. It's annoying playing SD games....
Geralt 4,874 Posted June 8, 2012 Buy the old one until the new comes out and do a trade in at Gamestop or any gaming store to get some credit towards a new one at least that's what I would do
