Cheesepuffs16 1 Posted May 30, 2012 I'm have a freind over, and she ALWAYS treats him like he's perfect. and she treats me like i'm nothing. And when I tell my mom about it, she gives me the hand motion that says, "Go away." Any suggestions on how we can be treated equally?

sorariku17 37 Posted May 30, 2012 Let me get this straight, your mum treats your friend more than you? if so, either give it to her straight. Have you been bad? Tbh you don't need to be angry or jealous or anything, all you really need to do is notice how she treats you when your friend isn't there. If she treats you like shit, then either she isn't a good mum, or you did something wrong. If thats the case. you really need to force her to speak to you. Go to the room she is in, say we need to talk, and if she says "go away" again, so "no" i want to speak. Be forceful, it works (not physical though). If that doesn't work, then tbh she is a bitch who need to learn how to be a mother.
Xenidal 36 Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) Yeah, I don't understand. Who treats your friend better than she treats you? If you mean your mom treats him better than she treats you then maybe she's just being nice / not being rude. Especially if she is not friends with your friend personally... typically someone in her position treats the guest better than people she actually knows. Think of it the other way... say she was extremely rude and obnoxious to him and did not make him feel welcome at all. Do you think that he'd want to come back? As for her saying, "Go away" when you questioned her... no idea. Was she busy or something? Maybe try asking her again? Or give her some example of what you mean... maybe she just thinks you're being dramatic / exaggerating... Edited May 30, 2012 by Xenidal

Lu Xun 2,069 Posted June 2, 2012 We're talking about your mom, right? I guess most kids have this problem... They say 'oh but if you were John, blahblahblah' My grandmother stopped with this because I told her I'd kill my friend lol
