CHAPTER 1: LIFE TAKES A TURN

Jarry begin his morning like always. He reached school and was in his first period class. The school year had started over again, and he was now in the tenth grade. The class was filling in one by one. Jarry had arrived first since he liked to have time to write in his journal. He looked around as people filled in the classroom. He saw that some of his friends had come into the class, but he just smiled at them and kept writing.

Alison was at her new locker getting it ready for the year. She always made sure that her locker had some style to it. She finished by putting a picture of her family. "There, a new year, a better look." She looked at the time, "Time for class." She said. She walked to her classroom and went inside. She looked around at everyone while she was coming in. She then noticed a boy writing in a journal. She sat down beside him and pulled out her notebook. She started drawing a picture of a rose. Edited May 28, 2012 by Xeveemon

Hawk Greyson was leaning on a wall smoking.

Then he looked at his pocket watch.

"Crap I'm too late again... "

He threw his cigarette on the ground and stomped on it with his heavy boot.

The european put his hands into his pockets and walked into the class.

As he was scanning through the people his view crossed with Larry's. Then he recognized Alison.

"Hmpf."

He took a seat on the vacant desk in the last row.

Nessa sat near the back of the room, not exactly the last row, but near the back. She watched Hawk walk to his desk from behind a book. He's always smoking... that's bad for your health. She thought stupidly. Nessa sighed and shut the book. "I've read that three times already." she mumbled. Bored, she gently tapped her fingers on her desk, waiting for class to begin.

Hawk started to lean back.

He coughed.

-I should really quit smoking-

he thought, but at the same time he checked his breast pocket how many cigarettes he had left, he counted 7.

-never gonna last till tomorrow morning-

He yawned and reached into the inner pocket of his coat.

He pulled out a little note.

 

-milk-

-eggs-

-my pills-

-read-

-butter-

-marmalade-

-cereal-

 

It was a shopping list.

-Mom, when you are gonna get well again?-

The teacher then walked in and wrote his name on the white board. "Good morning class, my name is Mr. Wind. Now I bet you are still excited over your vaction. So to figure out who is who in this class, we are going to play a simple game of 2 truths and a lie. When you present yours, you will state your name along with it. Okay so I will say you could come up with this in five minutes, and welcome to Geomtry." Mr. Wind said. He then began the timer.

 

Jarry had to think for a minute about this. In the past many people knew him too well to understand his lie. Now he must make this year different. He thought about the time he was in New York and how he never told anyone what he was like there. He then put his three down.

 

Alison didnt have any problems with it. Most of her friends werent even in the classroom, so she could lie easy. Yet there was something to this that she felt that wasnt correct, but she didnt mind that part.

Hawk played with his Zippo.

-A lie eh? this is gonna be easy-

he thought...

-But I hate to tell the truth...

2 truths? Ummmm.... Nessa's mind went blank. She wrote one without thinking, then another. Soon she had thought of a lie, and it was done. Nessa scanned her paper, wondering if she was really okay with saying this. I just won't go first. she thought, hoping the other classmates had a more interesting life story.

Hawk started writing.

 

-So that should do the job...-

 

-Hope teach won't pick me first...-

The timer went off. "Okay pencils down. Okay now, we will present in alphetical order." Mr. Wind said. Student after student went up. After a while, it was Hawk's turn.

Night "Joker" Michaels woke up to the sound of his alarm clock. 'We're leaving already?' he thought. "NIIIIIIGHT!" his mom called. It's time to get up. Night rolled his eyes. "Gee, you don't say. Maybe that's why my alarm clock went off!" Night called back. 'I hate moving to a new place' he thought as he got dressed. Night moved around alot. He originated from California, but his dad got a job transfer to Arizona, and then to Illinois. After finally thinking that they would settle down though, his dad was died in a mysterious accident. Unable to live there anymore, his mom decided to move away. And so, here they were, leaving the last hotel on their way to their new house in Atlanta, Georgia. And to a new school, with new faces that Night would have to get used to. Again. "You'll meet new friends" his mom told him as he stared out the window of their car. He would try, but he doubted it.

"Ok... My Name's Hawk Greyson. I moved here from Ohio, I eat cereal for breakfast and my cat's Name is Friday."

He leaned back on his seat and crossed his arms behind his head, smiling self-confident.

(Okay after much thought and consideration, I have decided to end this little 2 truths and a lie bit. So lets just say that we finished it. I want us to soon get this thing going instead of just having a long drawn out intro.)

Julian leaned back waiting for the bell.

-Hope we get a break soon...-

After a short time he started looking through the class.

-I hope I don't have to interfere with them, I'm alright with being alone...-

Later that day, the school had just ended and people were rushing out of the place trying to get away and carry on with their lives.

 

Jarry was walking to the door with his books in his hands when he bumped into Alison. They both fell to the floor and the books scattered. "Ow, that was unexpected." Alison said. "Hey why dont you look where you are........." Jarry cut his words off when he saw that he bumped into the girl who sat next to him in first period. "Oh, I am so sorry. Here let me help you with your books." Alison said. "No, no, it was my fault, I wasnt looking where I was going." Jarry said helping Alison get the books back to their rightful owner. "So you are Lenny, right?" Alison asked. "Jarry." Jarry corrected. "Okay Jarry, my name is Alison. Hey I saw you writing in your journal this morning." Alison said. "Yeah, I am quite the writter, even though I like to keep what I write a secret. People here normally dont get the fact of writing like I do." Jarry said. "Well I am quite the artist myself, so I know how it feels." Alison said. They got their books and Jarry helped Alison up. Alison smiled at him, "So maybe we will meet up sometime?" Alison said. "Yeah, that would be nice." Jarry said. "See you around then." Alison said and walked away. Jarry watched her walk away and touched his heart, "Well that feeling is not one I expereniced before." Jarry said and walked away to his car.

Almost there, Night and his mom were at a rest stop. "Mom, are you almost done?" "Just a minute!" 'We're never gonna get out of here..." he thought.

Nessa walked out of school towards the parking lot. "Why does every day feel like enough to last a lifetime?" she muttered. HEr house was fairly far from school, so she had plenty of time to think. "Maybe I'll write Elphie when I get home." she decided. Feeling her car slow down a little, she stopped at a gas station to get some. After paying, she walked into the small rest stop for a few things. She saw a boy sitting in one of the cars(Night). "You live around here?" she asked.

"Huh?" Night said, startled. Seeing the girl (Nessa) he replied, "Well, kinda. We're moving here. We're heading to our new house right now, my mom and I. So, who are you?"

Jarry drove to the one place that he could think after school, the forest well. When he got there, he got out of the car. He went over to the well and got some water out of it. He drank it and sat down beside it looking up at the clouds. "Man, what was that feeling, it was like something else mattered to me than myself. Odd feeling. Anyways, time to do some of that homework. I cant believe I already got homework on the first day, good thing it is just a paper telling about myself. Sounds easy enough." Jarry said and pulled out his homework and started working on it.

 

Alison cut a dumby in half with her sword. She was at her dojo training. "You are getting more and more wiser, Alison." her master, Travis, said. Travis was somewhere in his thirdies and had a brown bread to match his brown hair and he had the body of a bodybuilder. "Thank you, master." she said. "So why dont you take a break and tell me about how school was today." Travis said. They both sat down on a nearby bench, and Alison took off her helmet. "Well there isnt really much to tell, expect..." Alison said. Travis looked at her, "Excepted what?" "Ah nothing, just this guy I met." "Guy, you mean you have a crush in the making." "Where did you get an idea like that?" "I can tell it from the way you get lost for words trying to speak about him." "Well, he is just so handsome, and he even understands how hard it is to be different. See he writes, and you know how I draw, where he feels the same way about showing your work to other people." "Sounds like a he has somethings similar to you." "Yeah." Alison said.

"I'm Nessa. I live somewhere over there." Nessa pointed to a small neighborhood. "Well, I guess you could say you're lucky, you just missed the first day of school."

As Jarry was finishing his homework, a storm rolled in. When he heard thunder, he jumped. He ran into his car to wait out the storm. Thunder rumbed, lighting zapped, and rain poured. "Good thing I got out when I could, or else I would have been out in that. Good thing I have this car, I dont know what I would do without it sometimes." Jarry said to himself. He then went to the back of the car and laid down to take a nap until the storm stopped.

 

Alison was outside walking to her grandmother's house when the stormed rolled in. "Darn it, I am going to get wet." Alison said and ran to her granny's house. When she got there, she went inside. "Granny, I'm here." Alison said. Her grandma then came over to her, "Oh my, you are soaked. Here let me get you a towl." she said and handed Alison a towl. "Thank you. I was on my way here and that storm came out of no where. I guess that is what you get sometimes." Alison said. "At least you are safe and the goodies are still in good health. Now you just relax and I will call your mother to tell her you are safe." granny said and made a call.

Julian finished making dinner for his mother.

"I'm away, I hope you don't need me.."

"No, no have a nice evening, you're such a good boy..."

The boy closed the door and enlightened a cigarette.

"yeah, good boy... hmpf..."

He walked through the streets, while it got darker.

Night smiled at Nessa's comment. "Was it really that bad?" He asked. He then remembered where she had pointed when she told him where he lived. "Wait, you live there? That's the neighboorhood I'm moving into."

Nessa smiled. "Really? That's great." She felt a few drops of rain, and pulled on her hoody. "I guess I'll see you around, then. I'm Nessa."

"Nice to meet you, Nessa. By the way, I'm Night," Night replied.

The storm made the whole city dark. The car that Jarry had been in was smashed out and Jarry was no where to be seen. In the forest, there was the howling of an animal that howled different than a normal wolf would. There was also a trail of blood going from the car to the back of the woods.

 

Alison had made it home finally to her mother and went straight to bed. She was passed out from all the training she had done today.

 

(Would someone please have their characters come to the woods and find the car?)
