'Nowadays' he says.Square Enix/ Squaresoft/ Enix have all been lazy since their inception, but they're actually a fair bit less lazy than most other companies. And really, why would you bother to make an entirely new model if it's going to be completely covered by a cloak that has already been used for a good dozen and a half characters? Also, something to think about, technically YMX did appear in this game, he had a full model in BBS for one scene. Maybe they had a different plan for the character before?
