KH3D *SPOLIERS* TWEWY story and time travel?

OK. So I have watch and read up on the story of 3D ALOT and I fully understand the ending BUT I've seen barely anything with The World Ends with You charaters. All I know is that their "world" is sleeping and is Travese Town, but can someone explain to me what roles they play? Are they just like FF charcters that just help sometimes? or do they play large roles? Also I know that there has been alot of confusion with the 13 darkness and how can there be YMZ and terrnort, etc. I've seen alot of time travel theroies, but what are they saying? and it doesnt sound very KHish. Could the answer just be they are diffrent sources of the heart and the body? or just nobody heart confusion?

For the TWEWY chars- yep, they play minor roles just like FF ones in the previous games. As for the 13 darknesses, the time travel and everything else, we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm not going to touch the time travel stuff because I don't know if I could explain it that well.

 

Now about TWEWY gang, they are like the FF cameos, but I think they're going to be a huge part of KH3. In fact, KH and TWEWY are canon with each other now (or so it seems) so a lot could happen. Keep in mind this post will have spoilers. Anyway, here's what's happening with the TWEWY people.

 

Neku, Shiki, Beat, and Rhyme were erased by a Reaper. Joshua, then, took the remaining fragments of them (that seem to mostly be the versions of them from week 1 of the Game with Megumi) to Traverse Town to try and save them. Pretty much, if they got hearts again (and after they found their Partners again), they would come back to life. However, to return to their own world, they needed to destroy the one Dream Eater that was going to different worlds and the different Traverse Towns; the Reaper that erased them came up with this condition. Anyway, with the help of Sora and Riku, they accomplished all of this. They then make a promise (at least Sora, Neku, Shiki, and Joshua do) that Sora will come meet them in Shibuya. In fact, I'm actually starting to believe we'll go there in KH3. And/or Joshua and everyone will somehow be part of the final battle.

 

Sorry if I didn't do a good job explaining this. It's hard without the English dub, because you don't know how it'll officially be translated. Also, I'm doing this from memory since the videos with the English subs (that I got all this info from) are now gone...

 

Personally, I would love to see more KH/TWEWY interactions. I love both fandoms and they worked so, so well together! Better than the FF cameos, honestly (at least in my opinion). Nomura gave them great banter and contrasts. Anyway...

Also to answer the topic, I read from a Nomura Interview that the TWEWY characters are acting as a replacement of the Final Fantasy characters... Meaning they just guide you throughout the game, kind of like the roles of the FF characters... I have a feeling that they will play a large role in KH3, like what DenizenofTwilight said

I don't figure they will play quite so large a role as to be involved in the final battle, but I would love it if Sora could visit Shibuya in KH3. That would be amazing.

Some of the "13 darkness's" we saw were summoned. The only one we know isn't summoned is YMX(who time traveled to get there and then went back to his time forgetting everything that happened) MX probably wasn't summoned and neither were Ansem SOD and Xemnas(MX was forming back to his original self and thus Ansem SOD and Xemnas had to be there) We don't have any information of where Terra/nort is at this time but he may be part of the 13 darkness's. I hope this clears up some confusion for you.

P.S: Upon returning to ones original time they forget what happened when they time traveled.

But "time travel" is part of the title, and your brain doesn't freeze/stop just from reading the word "spoilers". Just by putting "time travel" in the title people already know that it's in the game.

I'm sorry for putting possible spoilers in the title. I should have been more thoughtful and not have just slapped on spoilers to fix it. I must say, however, that I put it there so users could know what the topic was about to be able to decide check it out or not. This is my first thread and I am now learning from my mistakes. I will see if I can change the title, however I dont really know how ( but I'll figure it out ) I would just like to say I'm REALLY sorry if I spoiled it for you or anyone else because that can suck when youre trying to wait it out.

At the end of KH3D sora goes to 'Sleeping' Traverse Town to recollect with himslef. This seems to me that he may be going back to better himslef via seeing his new TWETY friends since he promised to see them again. In this case, this would be the opening tutorial of KH3 and not the whole game.

BTW this is all guess work.

There's already a spoiler warning in the title, so you don't need to nake other warnings in the posts. The problem with the title is that it has a spoiler warning and a spoiler. It would be better if it said "____ travel" or something among those lines.

It's not an idea created by fans, it's canon. To quote krexia from kh insider:

 

Young Xehanort: There are many restraints to travelling across time. The first time you cross, you must discard your body. Before crossing over, your self must exist. After crossing over, you can only proceed in one direction, in accordance with the flow of time. One cannot rewrite the facts of what happens in that time.
