If you could travel to a foreign country, whether just for a visit or living there for a little bit, where would you go?

I've always been interested in Japanese culture and as for the other two, I blame Hetalia.

I come from the US and I'd like to visit Japan, Korea, Singapore, and China. But I'm definitely an anglophiliac and I'd love to go on an extended trip to visit Europe and see as many countries as I can.

Funny I've been to Japan, (South)Korea, and Singapore, and all I can say is Singapore is so beautiful :0

LOL I knew everyone would say it too, me included, but it's kind of the one I'd like to visit the leas. bc one of my friends, it was her dream to go to Japan and she even went to college and studied Japanese (and she was fluent too), but once she got there she says they were all flat out rude and when she would ask a simple question (in fluent Japanese) they would just stare at her as if she were some alien speaking gibberish. She had to spend 10 days there and she says it was there worst time of her life. however the people in India were the nicest people she'd ever met and she loved India lol.

Yeah, that could be. But I don't think Japanese people are that dumb I would think they could figure out that she learned it by taking a class. lol maybe they were all jus flabbergasted

I would probably want to go to Athens, New York, but just for a short visit, Iceland as a whole because it seems like a really beautiful country, Japan, obviously and that's just about it. Actually, no, put Italy in there too, because Italian food is amazing...and I hear they've got a great culture or something like that but the food!

I was referring to the initial shock of hearing a fluent foreigner. As for the class thing, a good amount of people don't gain fluency from a class and Japanese language classes aren't nearly as common as French Spanish and German classes. Edited May 14, 2012 by Dragoncat

Well not the Uk cause I live there. America maybe. I want to become a game designer when I am older so anywhere with good places for that. Maybe Japan but I know sometimes that they can be rude. Maybe China? I have a Chinese friend. Hawaii looks cool. Italy? New York? Anywhere!

Her parents could have been fluent in the language and she learned it from them, her friends could have been fluent in the language and taught her it, she could have self-taught herself. Trust me, there's a lot of different ways you can learn things.

You'd be able to find most games you want. We even still have some GBA games, and a plethora of PS2 games around, and I only saw current gen games at your stores for the most part.

Nice! I have lived in the same Village my whole life. You can get good games in town but not always the ones you want. The best place to get them is online.

Yeah, Americans love video games or so it seems.

In my town, which although it isn't exactly small it's not a big city either, we have at least 4 different game stores 3 of which you can get older games at, the last one being gamestop which I have a love-hate relationship with.

Heck even if you're town doesn't have a game store chances are pretty good that you'll have a walmart which sells video games (or in the case of my area a meijer)
