chrissk08 15 Posted May 11, 2012 The nostalgia factor you felt while watching the opening was most likely intended. It was the 10th Anniversay so that also explains the use of Hikari instead of a new song. So I wonder if the opening for KH3 will just be a recap for KH3D or maybe even a foreshadowing. And hopefully Utada is the one making the new song.
KissyFace 134 Posted May 11, 2012 Hikari wasn't used in the opening. Passion was.
Matthew 74 Posted May 11, 2012 Isn't that kinda the purpose of ANY opening in the KH series? To recap all the previous games in the series? With the exception of BBS of course.AND KH 1 since,it WAS the first game in the series. P.S no spoilers about the opening,I am saving ALL of KH 3D for when I get it for myself! Timpani 23 Posted May 11, 2012 They've been using Hikari Orchestral for years in trailers. It really is the franchise main theme song.
Rob 5,571 Posted May 11, 2012 I believe looking at the previous KH games answers your question.

Kello 310 Posted May 12, 2012 (edited) Hikari is Passion lol. Hikari = Simple and Clean ("When you walk away, you don't hear me say...") and Passion = Sanctuary ("In you and I, there's a new land..."). They just made Orchestral versions of Utada Hikarus songs called Hikari and Passion (same as their original versions was called). And hopefully Utada is the one making the new song. I didn't like the opening much. Certainly the recap was nice representing the 10th anniversary but the music and the opening scene could have been better. I liked the BBS opening more. Hikari = Simple and Clean ("When you walk away, you don't hear me say...") and Passion = Sanctuary ("In you and I, there's a new land..."). They just made Orchestral versions of Utada Hikaru songs called Hikari and Passion. Like their original versions was called. They sound the same but the lyrics and the language are different. I wouldn't say they're the same since I prefer Hikari over Simple and Clean and Passion over Sanctuary. Edited May 12, 2012 by DG20
