Do you think mobile phone gaming will kill off portable game systems like the 3DS and Vita?

firetruck iPhones, iPods and Androids! They cost more than you would like to pay for a overly sized and packed with useless applications device. The only good thing about iPods ONLY is that they have big memory space, but nooo, Apple decides to cancel that pro out by creating the most frustrating program ever *coughITUNEScough*. And I'm not buying a touchscreen cell phone or whatever. A cell phone shoud only be able to call, send text messages and maybe take pictures or play some music, but that's it!

Games, especially the KH franchise, should stay on traditional consoles. I don't understand why Tetsuya Nomura doesn't want to put the next game in PS3. Square did an amazing job on FFXIII graphic-wise. PS3 is a console that would blast KH3 in space with awesomeness!!! But no, he's just trying to make the fans buy a shitload of stupid hand-held consoles and now ever exaggerated phones just to play a new game. More profit for them, right? But PS3 actually has an assload of good games you can play besides KH3, like God of War, Assassin's Creed etc.

I don't think that phone gaming will ever kill off portable game systems. It is a completely different experience playing a game on a phone. The only time I have even played a phone game was on my aunt's touch screen phone, and it was nothing compared to a portable game system. Of course I am not really one to talk because I don't even own a cell phone, but I do own a 3DS.

I hope not. I mean, its fine if people who otherwise have no interest in gaming play on their phones, but those cheap $1 phone games should never replace real games. I can't play games like Kingdom Hearts, Tales of the Abyss, and Pokemon on a phone without sacrificing either graphics or actual controls. All touch screen just doesn't work for games more complex than Angry Birds and the like. Touch Screen controls like we have in the 3DS work great, but making a game completely controlled by touch just makes things frustrating.

 

If smart phones start gaining face buttons and analog sticks, then maybe one day, but so long as they are purely touch based, they will never be able to play more complex games.

I think i heard nomura say that KH3 was planned to be on a "next generation console" ages ago, hence i actually foresee it being on ps4 and WiiU.

well its just he's stuck with sony and nintendo consoles for all his games. Built a large fan base (through both). and no doubt if he releases it on just PS4 or just WiiU, the other fan base who dislike or don't own the other console will cause uproar. defo the ones that are loyal from the start and bought every game, and nearly every console (at least they were cheap, unlike the ps4 and WiiU which will cost a lot) i know i will complain anyway...... mainly due to the fact that i am not a big fan of sony, and i don't want to purchase a ps4 JUST for kingdom hearts 3 and i am sure others are the same as me and then vice versa for WiiU.

 

I want KH3 to finish off on a multiconsole, as ps4 and WiiU will be both excellent consoles with epic graphics etc. Ok so i could probs admit that PS4 will be a little bit better with this. but don't forget nintendo has some really really good cartoony styles, which are amazing graphics, while WiiU might not be able to pull of realistic stuff (i don't really know the exact specs but i assume they will to an extent) i think it will be able to handle KH graphics, game style etc just as much as PS4.

 

On another note.....i don't think both consoles can comprehend xehanorts mindfiretruck, and they both might blow up from his sheer awesomeness , hence why i think nomura has dumbed down the games to portable ....nah, just kidding, yet it would be funny

What kind of question is that? There's no way mobile games will ever be able to get the great quality and controls portable systems have. You can't beat the 3DS.

NEVER. The compatibility of the iphone will never reach the standards for the portables today. The Iphones can barely play GBA games and that is if they jailbreak it. I usually only use my ipod to take pics, text/make calls, play draw something and other puzzle games like that, and chech my social networks, and listen to music (95% is used for music). YEa they may be something that a lot of people have, but it is just a cell phone that is fancy....thats it.

 

When i get a 3DS limitied special KH edition, ill be on that alot more.

Yeah no. I can see handhelds gaining a lot more capabilites over the years but realistically, tablets and phones aren't built for the same amount of game quality. And really, I'd prefer to play Dream Drop Distance than Tap Tap Revolution.
