Alexia stared at the mirror. "Alright. give it all you've got. No holding back. Just another challenge,right?"Alexia asks to herself,trying to give herself confidence. She then sighed and looked down. "I'm gonna fail."Alexia says. Suddenly she looked up and saw a girl standing there. "We're waiting for ya."The girl says. Alexia noded. She walked out of the room and then down the hall. She could see that upfront was the arena. She breathed and wwalked out. She looked around her and could see the huge crowd cheering and all excited for the tornument. "Whoa."Alexia says as she walked around. She stood in a tile and looked upfront to see Duo standing there. She slightly chuckled nervously and waved slightly. The AC then walked up and stood in a balcony. "Welcome one and all to the Annual Tornument of the Kingdoms! This year we have the great honor to have it hosted right here,at the North Kingdom!"The AC says as he threw a punch into the air. The crowed cheered louder. "Here are the tornument rules! Each competitor represents the Kingdom which they come from,therefor they will have to fight in the style which their kingdom specializes. Illegal fighting,like ear bitting,or hair pulling is not allowed. The battle ends when either of the competitors is unable to battle any longer. For the first match. We have Alexia VS Duo,both from the East Kingdom! So all of you be ready,cause I have a feeling neither of them are gonna hold back any punches!"The AC says. The crowed cheered even more. The AC smiled and rose a black and white flag. "Ready....set..."The AC says. Alexia got her staff ready. "FIGHT!"The AC says as he swung his flag. Alexia rose her staff and it glew brightly. She swung it and some slashes of light went directly at Duo.

Alexia made the first move, attacking with slashes of light. Duo raised his arms and called upon a giant thunderbolt, it struck Duo, enveloping him in thunder, which shielded him from the light slash. He quickly spread his arms making the lightning disperse, he brought his hands together, creating an orb of lightning between them. Duo spread his arms again, making the own grow rapidly until it was several times larger than Duo. He reared back, brought one foot forward and threw the giant ball of lightning with all his might.

Alexia looked up at the sphere of lightning that came straight at her. It was way to big to dodge. She'd had to face it through. Alexia spun her staff and then setted it down standing. Some orbs of light started to spin around her as a yellowish transparent crystal sorrounded her fully. She held onto her staff horizontally as the sphere came straight at her. The sphere and the shield collided full on. Alexia grunted as she was trying to hold the sphere off. But the power was simply overwhelming. Eventually the sphere of lightning pushed Alexia and the shield back,sending them crashing against the wall. Some smke covered the area and it eventually cleared to show Alexia on one knee holding onto her staff. Electricity seemed to go around her and spark a bit. She shook and slowly stood up chukleling a bit. "Wow,that was quite the,shock." (Dadamptss~) Alexia says as she stood up fully,her legs still trembleling from the electricity going through her. She concentrated her energy and spikes of crystal appeared all around her. They turned into these huge spears of crystal as they glew. Alexia pointed her staff towards Duo as the spears of crystal instantly shotted up directly at Duo. Alexia spun her staff and two scythe crystal edges appeared at both ends of the staff,with that,she attacked foward along with the crystals.

Duo watched as the storm of spears flew at him, and on top of this Alexia was charging in with a crystal scythe. Duo made four small orbs that floated on front of him, Duo snapped his fingers and the orbs connected themselves with lines of lightning, making a large rectangle. The empty middle of the rectangle then filled itself with lightning and became quite solid.

 

The crystal spears did little as they hit and harmlessly shattered against the lightning wall, "Like that? I call this Thunder Glass, it works as a shield and as an amp, here let me show you what I mean," Duo fired a thunder beam from his fingers at the Thunder Glass, the entire wall of lightning began to glow, then a large beam the size of the Thunder Glass was fired at Alexia.

Alexia stared. She couldn't dodge it. Her staff glew for a second before the beam hit her. Next thing anyone could see Alexia was sent flying back and falling against the floor. Alexia slowly stood up without saying a word. Before anyone knew what was gonna happen next Alexia's face seemed to crack. Her entire body slowly cracked as she suddenly shattered into pieces of yellow crystal. "Behind you!"Alexia says. She was right behind Duo,standing on a yellow crystal plataform,with her staff glowing brightly yellow and her eyes with it. "A unique trading technique I learned myself back at home. Is useful when you're about to be pranked on. But this is a first to avoid an attack like that."Alexia says. She spun her staf. "please work...also,sorry!"Alexia says as she kept spinning her her staff and multiple shots of light went directly at Duo.

Duo spun around, caught off guard. He only had time to shoot down a few of the light shots with some lightning before the rest hit his body. The shots knocked him back, but he was other wise okay, he stood back up and dusted himself of. "I must say, that was rather impressive," Duo's legs began to crackle with lightning, "Did you know, that in nature, lightning starts from the ground up, we only see it strike coming down cuz how fast it is. With that in mind, I can do stuff like this!"

 

Duo jumped, lightning shooting from his legs, sending him rocketing upwards. He flipped around in the air and ended up upside down, right above Alexia. Duo dropped bolts of lightning on top of her, then quickly feel back to the ground on the other side of her. Duo wasted no time, and began to unleash bolt after bolt of lightning at Alexia. Duo's feet began to crackle, he spun around and swung his legs, sending two waves of electricity at her.

Alexia stared. She started to cause crystals appear around her. Some of them manage to be able to block some of the lightning. But the others hit her hard in different parts of the body,making those parts become numb. "(I won't be able to hold on much longer! Gonna have to take out the big guns!)"Alexia says. She backed away and fell on her knees as she held her staff. Eveyone kept cheering and watching. The AC stared. "It seems Alexia is at the verge of defeat! Will she be able to play a trump card and spin the chances at her favor?!"The AC asks,to add suspence. Alexia shook slightly and held her staff. It glew brightly and Alexia,still on her knees,pointed her staff at Duo. She charged up a last resort beam and she sented a beam directly at Duo. The beam dispersed into even more beams and they all spun towards him.

"That's what I'm talking about!!" Duo screamed. Duo knew that she was on her last legs, and if she was pulling out an all of attack, Duo wouldn't hold back, just as he promised.

 

Duo began to rapidly speak an old runic language, storm clouds began to swirl in the sky above him. His quickly spat out words in the old tongue, runes written in lightning appeared in a circle around him, lightning surged around him, and the biggest lightningbolt yet stuck him, feeding him power. Duo absorbed all of the lightning, "I can feel the storm surge inside me,"

 

Duo spoke on last word in the runic language before firing a giant beam of lightning. From the circle of runes small trails of lightning fed into the giant beam, making it take shape. It formed itself into what resembled a giant electric lizard, it appeared to be Balis as a matter of fact.

 

The two spells met with a catastrophic force, the two attacks were at a stalemate. The only thing Duo could do was hold on and see if he would come out on top

The smoke cleared up and everyone stood still in silence. Alexia satted there holding onto her staff,shaking still. She chuckled smiling. "Wow...that was..wow..."Alexia says. She then dropped her staff and fell down foward as she had an anime expression on her face. "I can't any longer...."Alexia says to herself as she layed there with her staff to the side. The AC rose a blue flag. "It is over!Alexia is unable to battle anylonger! The winner is Duo from the East Kingdom!!!!!"The AC yelled. The crowed suddenly cheered in large numbers as they clapped and whistled as well. They even started to cheer his name a bit. "Duo!Duo!Duo!Duo!"The crowed cheered. Alexia turned so she would be laying down,but facing up to the cieling. She looked over to her staff and picked it up. "I think we learned a few things from this. What about you?What do you think?"Alexia asks,as if the staff were alive. The staff glew in response. Alexia smiled. "I thought so too." She satted up rubbed her legs slightly. "His lightning abilities are amazing."Alexia says. She turned to see him and smiled. "He is truely one of a kind."

Sync was shocked at not only Duo's, but Alexia's magical abilities as well. The amount of magical powers those two brought on, the thought of it left Sync slightly in awe. He was pleased to see Duo won, an emotion Sync felt to be foreigen. Yet, he wanted Alexia to win too. Zero approached Sync, however, disrupting Sync thoughts.

 

"We have to head out now. We they told me that we should wait out by the doors until the arena can be cleaned. Those friends of yours certainly pack a punch." Zero said, walking off.

 

Sync ran after him, not knowing the way. "They really aren't my friends....just people I met along the way up here."

 

"Yeah yeah..." Zero said, laughing a bit. He motioned to two large doors. "This is it. We just wait until they start calling our names."

The two spells made an earth shattering explosion. It was a wonder no one was hurt, the dust settled and Duo saw that Alexia was in the ground, people were chanting his name, "DUO!DUO!DUO!DUO!" shouted the crowd. Duo had won, but he was really worn out, runic magic could take a lot of of someone. He walked over to Alexia and helped her up. He walked with her to back into the locker room, "You were great out there by the way Alexia," he told her, "Oh, and can I pass out yet?" he feel over, tired from the amount of effort needed to successfully use runic magic.

Alexia smiled and noded. "Thanks. You were wonderful as well."Alexia says as she chuckled slightly. She satted down on one of the benches they had there in the locker rooms. She grabbed a hanky and started to clean her staff. Alexia looked over to Duo and smiled. "you were simply fantastic. You're truely amazing."Alexia says. She then heard some steps. She turned to the door and could see Balis running over inside the locker room. "Hey look who's here."Alexia says. She saw as Balis walked over to Duo. Alexia chuckled slightly and stood up. "You can rest over at the stands. Lets go and see the next match."Alexia says as she got the hankerchief away and walked to the door and then stopped thinking for a while. She looked up and turned to her staff. She tapped it a bit and it glew. "Yeah,I get ya."Alexia says as she stared at the staff.

Balis had come into the room, he walked up to Duo on the floor and greeted his master. "Nice to see you too," he told the lizard. Duo eventually got up and met Alexia on the stands, "That's the last time I runic magic," he said, "So it's Sync's turn now right? What Kingdom is he representing?"

 

Sync never did tell them where he was from, at least now they could see by the way he fought. He looked out towards the arena, heand Alexia really tore it up, and some of the stadium workers were replacing the broken tiles

(Going to be a long post- this one. Didn't want to drag it on.)

 

Quickly, the arena was fixed and the announcer resumed his post.

 

"Wow that was a stunner!" The announcer said, most likely genuinely surprised by the action Duo and Alexia just caused. The crowd was still wild with the excitement.

 

"As for our next two fighters....please welcome....Sync and Zero! Warriors from the South Kingdom!" The announcer was good at his job, as the crowd was even more riled up with aniticipation. Sync pushed out of his own door, and Zero did the same. Both boys were embraced by the frigid air as the made their way to thier respective pedestals.

 

"Alright boys keep it clean! The rules are easy. Only use your Kingdom's moves! I don't want a karate match from you Southerners! I don't want a bloodbath either. Stop when you can't fight. Alright? Good." The announcer went up to a high stand, and braced for the moment.

 

"Sync and Zero from the South.....Fight!"

 

Like that, Sync's weapon materialized within his hand, and he dove off his pedestal and into the arena. Zero did the same. The two quickly met, and blows and parries were sent out. Fortunately for Sync, he was taught almost all of the Fighting Styles for spears, so keeping up with Zero was easy. But that didn't mean Zero was an easy opponent.

 

The fight dragged on, when Zero quickly dashed up, quickly crashing down on Sync's spear. Sync swept, and managed to catch Zero on the blunt edge.

 

"Not bad! But your luck won't last long!" Zero said cockily, delivering a fast uppercut with his blade. This barely caught Sync's mask, and Sync swung his spear back to avoid his face from being seen, but to drive Zero back as well. Sync threw the spear, which Zero barely managed to parry. Sync's spear returned to him, and Sync immediately dove towards Zero, catching him off guard.

 

Sync slashed, and Zero's blade was thrown away. The scene showed a huffing Sync in front of a Zero on the ground. Zero grinned, then laughed. "Sync....that....was...awesome!"

 

The crowd exploded into cheers, chanting Sync's name.

 

The announcer called out to the crowds- "Behold our second winner, Sync from the South Kingdom!"

Noah stared.'' All them are strong. I wonder if I'll be able to win my match.'' Noah said as the arena was fixed up. Noah walked out and standed on the South Symbol as Wrath stood on the East.'' Give up and I'll make it worth your while.'' Wrath said with a grin.'' Not on your life.'' Noah said as he drew his blade. He saw Wrath fix up his claws. The AC then got the flag.'' Fight!'' he said as Noah rushed with his blade towards Wrath. He slashed at Wrath who dodged and slashed Noah's chest. Noah backed away and stabed the ground and a earthquake was sended towards Wrath, Who jumped in the sky. He then bounce off the sky and punched Noah in the face. Noah felt his jaw break a bit. He then started clashing weapons over and over again with Wrath, who was cutting and breaking a few of Noah's bones a bit at the same time.'' Argh!'' Noah yelled as he slashed Wrath on the chest. Wrath then slashed Noah deep on the chest. Noah backed away and rushed towards Wrath, who slashed Noah's face. Noah got up but was punched in the face again. Noah fell back as Wrath rushed to finish him stop as the AC was yelling stop. He then jumped from the stands shot arrows at his feet and arms making him be pinned to the wall.'' Killing your oppenent was not part of the rules. Noah, you win by default.'' AC said. They took Noah away to get healed. People were horrifed on what Wrath did. Wrath was then suddernely disappeared being banished.'' Next fight, Zeta vs Neku.'' Ac said. Zeta and Neku rushed to each other as Zeta dodged sword slashes and shot arrows at Neku stabing him in the chest. Neku then felt lightning through it as he fell down.'' Zeta wins.'' Zeta walked away hoping her cousin was alright.

 

Noah was in a bed as he saw Alexia, Duo, and Zeta around him.'' If it wasn't for AC stepping in, I would've died.'' Noah said as Zeta looked at Noah.'' I had Duo enhance my arrows so I can win faster which was good.'' Noah smiled as he saw Alexia about to say something.

Alexia rose her staff. Even though she was worn out,she was willing to help out. She started to heal Noah. "Don't move much,or else it'll be worse."Alexia says. She then heard him and stared. "Wait,what?"Alexia asks. She turned to Duo. "Isn't that cheating?"Alexia asks. She looked around. "Enchancing weapons equals making them more powerful by sources of magic. It also at times for arrows,has them...follow their target."Alexia says as she stared down and then looked at Noah and then at Duo. She didn't knew if it was true or not. She just shook her head and stared at Balis. She rubbed his head. "That's cheating. If you guys get caught,both of you will get disqualified. You for having them enchanced and you for helping him."Alexia says as she pointed at Noah and then at Duo. She then breathed and turned away while she held her staff and saw it glow. Alexia stared at it. "Um,escuse me guys."Alexia says as she quickly hurried over outside and stood in the hallway. She held her staff. "What's wrong?"Alexia asks to her staff.

Duo held up his hands trying to look innocent, "She made me! She told me I owed her for making her watch Basis when she didn't want to touch him, she called his a slimy over sized toad," he said, "And anyway, the judges didn't say anything, even though that lighting of from the arrows were very noticeable, but I'd rather not take a chance like that again,"

 

Duo saw Zeta glare at him for ratting on her, but his attention turned to Alexia, she kept talking to her staff, it seemed odd, but Duo talked to Balis a bit too seriously even for a pet. Duo have her a moment just as she asked, then when he thought she was finished went over to her, "I'm guessing your staff has some way to communicate with you huh?" he asked her

Alexia turned to Duo and noded. "Yes."Alexia says. She turned to her staff and held it. "Ever since it was given to me by my teacher,since I was around 10,I've always felt this strange energy coming from it. At night I kind of have dreams,and I can hear a voice. At day I can hear it too. It was the staff actually,that helped me out at our battle. It told me to move and all."Alexia says as she stared at her staff and it glew a bit.

 

 

Alexia stared at the beam going straight aher. "Alexia move. The substitution techique." Alexia stared and noded. "(Right!)"Alexia thinks.

Alexia walked around and turned to him smiling. "So yeah. It is pretty much that. It talks to me and I talk back. We share feelings and thoughts. Its like if its alive yet not alive at the same time...a bit crazy,especially since its a staff and all. But its something that has been since the beginning. I've heard some rumors it might be some spirits of nature. But I think its just that it has a mind of its own."Alexia says smiling.

Duo thought about what kind of power must be in that staff of hers. He was deep in thought when it of corner of his eye he noticed something flying towards his head.

 

Duo quickly turned, and saw that it was a shard of ice, his hand charged with lightning. He made a swift movement to smash the ice when his eyes widened with shock. There were not one but two ice shards flying, one at him, the other at Alexia. Duo adjusted his swing and hit the shard flying at Alexia a split second before it reached her, but this left him open for the other shard. It struck him just above his eye, but luckily Duo wasn't hurt very badly, for the shard shattered harmlessly on impact.

 

The dust made from the broken shard began to irritate Duo's eye, he held it shut and placed his hand over it. "Excellent reaction time, but not the best of choices," said a voice, Duo turned to look at the person with his one good eye, it was a girl, about how age, "I'm Rose, you were impressive during your fight. I just won mine, I look forward to competing against you," she said. Duo didn't say anything, only scowled at her and glared with his one eye

Alexia looked over to Duo. "Are you allright Duo?"Alexia asks. She turned to Rose and stared at her with a slight glare. "Hey,watch it. You should have respect towards the other competitors!"Alexia says as she somewhat stood in defense because of what she did to Duo. She saw Rose smirk. Alexia growled and her staff glew. Alexia turned to her staff. "Oh...I see..."Alexia says. She turned to look at Rose and then back at her staff smiling. "You're right,words are meaningless to deaf ears."Alexia says. She then heard Rose somewhat laugh. "Are you seriously talking to your staff? Do you have a lose screw in your head or something?"Rose asks in somewhat a mocking matter. Alexia turned to her glaring. "My staff is pretty much alive thank you very much,and it agrees that you're pretty headstrong for your own good."Alexia says.

'' The first round is now over. These are the people moving onto the second round. Duo, Sync, Noah, Zeta, Kane, Ginjo, Leo, and Rose. The second round begins tomorrow at noon. So, be prepared for the next round. This is the North Kingdom signing out.'' the AC said as Noah smiled and laughed a bit.'' That's good.'' Noah said as he got out of the bed. His wounds healed. He saw Zeta.'' You still have it don't you?'' she asked.'' Yeah. No matter what Father did, it kept coming back. He says it's a curse, but I find it like a blessing.'' Noah says. Zeta was shocked.'' Your calling it a blessing?!'' She was out rage at what Noah had just said. Noah laughed.'' Hey, I can't help it. It's the only reason why I surivied my fight. I was suppose to die, but it knows if I died, then it'll die too.'' Noah said. Zeta sighed.'' Well, I'm leaving.'' She said as she walked away.' You'll soon find everything you cerish in the ground.' a voice said as Noah heard it in his head.'' What the?'' Noah said as he shruged and walked out as well. On top of the Arena was the same man from eariler, still having his face covered.'' Your abyss awaits Noah and Alexia.'' he said as he disappeared.

Sync sighed happily when his name was called. He made it to Round Two. After the battle with Zero, he and SYnc managed to become good friends. They talked about their own lives, with Sync doing his best to keep his cover. Soon, a woman walked up to Sync, and talked to him.

 

"Do you know the boy Noah, and Zeta?" The woman asked, probably an employee of sorts.

 

"Yes." Sync replied. "I was traveling with them to get here."

 

The woman nodded. "Noah has been injured during his fight. If you wish, you can see him in the infirmary. Your other friends should be there."

 

"They're not my friends." Sync replied, but he still walked to the infirmary, giving his goodbyes to Zero.

Alexia stared at Rose and then looked away to the side a bit. She rubbed her eyes. She felt tired a bit. After climbing up the monutain and then battleling in the arena. She was pretty tired after that. She then started to count slightly with her fingers,doing some math inside her head a bit. She then turned to Duo and glared at Rose. "Duo. Lets go back. You need to rest for tommorow's round."Alexia says. She turned and took a few steps away when suddenly she stopped and helded her head. He staff started to glow faintly a bit. "(Ow...what is this....)"Alexia thinks. She looked up and shook slightly. "(It's a really dark energy...I can't really decribe it...what kind of energy is this?Who does...it belong to?)"Alexia thinks as she held her staff. She then shook her head and decided to ignore it and looked back at Duo. "Come on Duo."Alexia says.

Duo saw that Alexia was some sort of headache, "Are you alright?" he asked her, his hand still over his eye, "C'mon, your the one who needs to rest,"

 

The tournament officials had set up an area of tents for the competitors. They were East Kingdom tents, enchanted to look like a normal tent on the outside, but upon waking into one, you enter a lavish hotel room. Duo's eye felt no better, if fact, it felt very cold, "Alexia, is something wrong with my eye?" he asked, removing his hand. Even with one eye, he could very well see the shock on her face as she gasped

Alexia stared. "Duo,your eye,its dark grey,and its bleeding!"Alexia says. The ice had seemed to hit hard enough somewhere around his eye to cause some bleeding and inflamation to his eye. Alexia grabbed him and dragged him over to a chair where she made him sit. "Stay still. That eye is very bruised up. I don't know what she actually aimed at but she managed to do some serious damage to your eye."Alexia says. She looked through her bag and took out a hanky. She wetted it with some water from the sink and passed it around Duo's eye to clean the blood off. "Now hold still."Alexia says. She rose her staff and it glew brightly. "(Help me heal him.)"Alexia thinks. She didn't knew much of healing magic,but she could've at the very least try at it. She got her staff close to his eye and some golden aura started flowing around his injured eye. She didn't knew if it would heal him or not,but she had to try...
