The Kingdoms of Pandora

In this world, lies four kingdoms. They are ruled by their kings. The four kingdoms did not use to exist. In the center off all four, lies the ruins of the center kingdom. There layed the kingdom of Technology. A kingdom based and lived on technology. One night, the king's four sons, who are now the kings of the other kingdoms. Lead an attack with their small army and defeated their powerful father and destroyed the kingdom along with technology. Now, many years later, the four kingdoms live in peace and harmony, but for what they don't know, is that a band of suriviors have gathered together with the remains of technology to destroy all four kingdoms. Now, the kingdoms have to band together once more, to destroy technology, or they will be wiped out one by one by technology.

Bio: A quiet girl from the East Kingdom. She specializes in light elemental magic,knowing a bit of healing magic as well. She mostly stays at practices and magic classes to perfect her abilities,but she always likes to stare out at the sunset each day. Just for the heck of it. She knows the story of how the middle kingdom was betrayed by the rest of the kingdoms. She wonders of it alot. Either help the reminders of Central Kingdom,or fight against them,she still doesn't know witch side she will take. But when the time comes,she'll know.

Weapon: Utilizes a armlet to form prismatic weapons. These tend to be swords, knives, or spears. An armlet on his other arm allows sync to shoot fireballs.

 

Bio: A mysterious boy from the Central Kingdom. His true name and origin is unknown, but his extensive use and knowledge of Tech suggests he is from the Central Kingdom- the place of Technological wonders. He goes by 'Sync' a fitting name for him. It is unkown who he is as a person. Most people cannot tell if his goal is that of evil or good purposes, and those who have met him have never seen Sync's face. He always wears a visor-esque mask over it.

Bio: He is a quiet kid from the South Kingdom. He spends his time on the beach and trains on it. He always wished he can see the outside world for what it is. He learned about the center kingdom falling a few years ago from his dad. The king. He is the prince of South kingdom. He will soon inherit the role of king of the South Kingdom when he gets older. He hates being treated as a royal brat, so he tends to hide out at the beach. He will soon face the technology he dearly hates as it took away his brother long ago.

It was yet another peaceful day at the capital of the East Kingdom. Its castle stood strong and proud,right infront of the huge waterfall that supplied most of the water of their kingdom,and standing over rocks,with waterfalls flowing down from it. Giving it a sense of majesty to it. The houses were made out of rock and wood. Using the hard terrain and the water around them as an advantedge. Alexia stood there along with the rest of her friends infront of one of the many waterfalls. Their teacher stood before them,her back facing against the waterfall. "All of you will have to use your magic,in order to reach the top of the waterfall,reach one of the flowers,and bring it back down. You can use any type of magic that you know of. There are only three rules. 1.Do it within the timelimit,2.Don't knock or push the others away,and 3.Do not fall into the water. You have until your shadow reaches to that wall."The teacher says pointing at a random wall. They all looked up to see a bunch of flowers at the top. The teacher rose her staff. "Go!"The teacher says as she sent a small fire sphere flying,causing a small explotion as it reached the top. Everyone started to activate their magic spells and started to climb. Some used the wind and tried to wield themselves up,others used the power of nature and other elements. Alexia stared and breathed. "Time to use my new technique."Alexia mutters to herself. She rose her staff and spun it around. Yellow crystal shards appeared climbing upwards in a spiral way. Alexia stared at the bottom one. She stepped on it and it quickly shattered. Alexia growled. Her technique was inperfect. She looked at the shadow. Time was against her. Her teacher stared. Some had already gotten their flowers and were on their way down,others had fallen into the water and were cursing and swimming back to shore. Alexia just stood there thinking. She then snapped her fingers. "Got it!"Alexia says. She made the other crystals dissapear. She made one appear instead. She then jumped on it and quickly jumped off. It shattered. Just a second before her feet touched the water another crystal appeared beneath her,catching her. But she quickly jumped off as it shattered. They were to delicate to support any weight. She then started to jump from crystal to crystal,upward. The teacher watched and smiled.

A figure leaned against a ruined building in what was once known as 'The Central Kingdom'. He was clad in green robes, with a golden visor that shielded his face. He had his arms crossed against his chest, gazing out at the ruins. He stood in the Upper Levels, the area belonging to the richest members of society in this kingdom. Though it let the rich escape the greivances of the poor, it was also their demise. WHen war came, the Rich were the ones farthest away from the gates.

 

The figure knew this. He straigtened an armlet that was around his wrist, and sighed. He looked behind him, now gazing at the remnants of a once proud castle. The figure reached towards it, as if the castle was important to him. He sighed again, reaching for a sack next to his feet.

 

The figure prepared for his next long journey.

Name: Duo Barrim

Weapon: Familiar- a giant lizard

Bio:Duo is an exceptional magician, over the years finding himself under the teachings of many great users of magic. He travels with his familiar, a rather large lizard he named Balis. Duo is well versed in using Lightning/Thunder magic, and his favorite way to display his skills is by imbuing Balis with magic to turn him into pure lightning, after which the familiar will rapidly jump and warp around, leaving a trail if lighting behind. Extremely loyal, he'll do anything in his power to fight off the Central Kingdom and their technology

Alexia kept jumping from crystal to crystal. She was getting the hang of it. But she needed to hurry up if she wanted to reach the flower before the show reached the wall. Alexia put petal to the metal. "Almost,almost!"Alexia says as she jumped up. The others had either fallen or already reached their flower,or,like Alexia,trying to reach it yet. Alexia gave one last jump and stretched her arm as much as possible. She grabbed a flower that was right at the edge and managed to take it. "Got it!"Alexia says smiling as she made her way down. But just then the teacher's shadow reached the wall and she sounded a flute. "AW MAN!"Alexia says as she de-concentrated and the crystal broke beneath her. Alexia yelled as she fell down and into the bottom of the waterfall. "Time's up everyone."The teacher says smiling. Alexia swam up to the surface and breathed. She whined. "Aw man. So close!"Alexia says. She swam up to shore and stood up. The teacher rose her staff and had fire and wind blow above the soaked students to dry their clothing. "Now to set these flowers in the sanctuary. Those who have flowers go to the sanctuary and set your offerings,those who didn't get the flowers have the option to go home."The teacher says as she walked away. The students who didn't get the flowers simply walked away. Those who got the flowers followed the teacher. Alexia stared at her flower and shrugged and followed the teacher along with the others.

Noah sat on the sand as he let the sea breeze flow into his nose. He smelled it.'' This smells nice.'' Noah said to himself as he held his blade. He stood up and started training. He swinged his blade over and over.'' This wind feels good.'' Noah said as he then ran up the beach and slashed the air and then a tree. He then sealthed his blade as he wakjed in the forest. He kept walking as he reached a gravestone. He kneeled down and put fresh flowers on it.'' I wish you were here brother.'' Noah said as he saw a messenger.'' Yes?'' Noah said.'' A tournment is being held. You have been selected.'' The messenger said as he left. Noah then smiled.'' Time to show my skills.''

They all got to the sanctuary. It was a small place where people could find peace and prayers. Everyone setted down their flowers and walked off after saying their goodbyes. Alexia waited for everyone else to set down their flower before setting down hers. The teacher walked up to Alexia and noded slightly. "I hope to see you in next week's lesson."The teacher says. With that,she leaves the sanctuary. Alexia stared and then looked back at the flowers. She sighed. "I could of so passed that fully if I had only figured it out faster."Alexia says. She stood up and held her staff. "Oh well. There's always next time,right?"Alexia asks to herself. She stared at the crystal windows as sunlight passed through them and landed on random spots. Alexia smiled. Light being her element,she felt nice,energized and warm inside whenever she was near sunlight,or atleast under it. She shook her head slightly and walked out to see the calm yet busy capital. Everyone here is either adept to magic or just a normal person like any other human. So if you are neither of those,you can be spotted quickly and set appart from the rest. She walked up and looked off to the horizon. They had quite a view from the high terrain they were settled in. "Maybe the other Kingdoms are more..exciting than this one."Alexia says.

Aria sat on her usual ledge far above the northern kingdom nestled between two great mountians. She breathed in the crisp cool air and closed her eyesas she swung her legs back and forth over the edge with her bow sitting idle in her lap. Aria's eyes snapped back open when she heard bells ringing, it was the 10 minute warning for gate closing. She grabbed her arrows and hopped of the edge of her small cliff running expertly down the mountain toward the gates. She easily dodged loose stones and roots sticking up out of the jagged rock. She slipped into the gate entering a new atmosphere of noise and activity. The roadside shops were closing and mothers were erging their children home as her feet padded silently along the dirt road. Aria dodged the small crowd of people heading home and pushed aside the cloth covering the opening to her family's house. " I'm home." She called and braced herself for the unslaught of little brothers. She was suprised when the house was eerily quiety. She hung up her bow and arrows and looked around. Aria leaned against the stone and dirt wall smiling when she found her three little brothers curled up on the floor their little chest's slowly rising and falling in peaceful sleep.

Duo walked through the hallways of the temple, his familiar Balis following closely at his heels. Duo had been visiting to learn other forms of magic, the mages and magicians their had taught what they knew, and soon Duo was on his way.

 

A traveling magician, always looking to improve upon his trade, Duo had learned under some of the most experienced magicians. The temple was located in the jungle of the East Kingdom, and was relatively close to the of the South Kingdom, home to many swordsmen. "Maybe we should go to the South Kingdom, how about it Balis?" he asked his familiar. Balis hissed lightly, showing his agreement with his master's suggestion. The two travelers came upon a clearing in the jungle just as the night began and the star revealed themselves, "We need to start a fire, help me find some good fire wood," the two searched the edge of the clearing, gathering wood here and there. Once they had enough, they placed them in a small pile in the center of the clearing. Balis crawled up Duo's leg and back to lay himself on his arm,"You wanna start it?" Duo asked. Balis hissed to confirm this to his master, "Okay then, here goes," Duo's right arm crackled with lightning, the sparks the were produced spread and began to crackle around Balis as well. Soon Balis was glowing an electric blue, exploding with sparks, "Go!" Duo yelled as he threw his arm forward, sending Balis flying through the air, a trail of lightning behind the large reptile. Balis flew in an arc and stuck the pile of wood, lighting it on fire with a big flash of sparks.

 

Duo smiled as Balis came back to his arm, flying in the same arc. Duo had found Balis as an egg, and raised him since. From that time till now, Balis had shown himself to be a loyal pet and companion, serving as Duo's familiar.

 

The two set off in the morning, and after many an hours journey, they made it to the beaches of the South Kingdom

The figure continued to walk through the Central Kingdom, now reaching the Middle Levels. This area belogned to the Middle class, those with money, but not excessively rich or too loyal to the Kingdom itself. Since many of this level were not loyal to their own Kingdom, this area was not as ruined. It also meant there were few here trying to start a new life, and many failed.

 

The figure walked past several ruined buildings, one sadly having a vehicle rammed into it.

 

"The Central Kingdom was alsways so proud of their technology..." The fiugre whispered, passing by the numerous skeletons that signified a form of apopcalypse. He stopped, however, when he heard a inhuman growl.

Alexia went home and started to pack a few things inside a bag. "Potions,rope..."Alexia muttered to herself. There wasn't enough space,so she needed to be careful of what she was bringing. She took this bag of money and set it inside,and some water and a fresh piece of bread. She closed her bag and got it around her. "That should be enough."Alexia mutters. She picked up her staff and walked out. She then walked down the path to the exit of the capital. From there on it would be tropical forests,lakes,even more waterfalls. Then there would be different paths that would lead to different places. "Alexia?"Asks a voice. Alexia stopped and turned to see her teacher. "Where are you going?"The teacher asks. Alexia stared and played with her fingers slightly. "I was thinking,that maybe to become better at my magic,I just need to explore beyond the limits of the East Kingdom. There are three others out there,whichI have never visisted. Maybe all I need is some experience and all..."Alexia says trying to explain. Her teacher stared and breathed. "I understand what you're trying to say...very well."The teacher says. Alexia stared. "What?"Alexia asks. "If this is what you think that will help you become at the best of your abilities,then I wish you luck. But when you come back. You better be able to pass my tests with flying colors,or else."The teacher says. Alexia smiled. "Thank you teacher,I won't let you down,I promise."Alexia says.

Noah made it back to his village as he saw the kingdom castle not the far. He walked up and saw a poster for the tournment.'' Hm..What is this even about?'' Noah asked to himself as he looked at the poster. It had the symbol of all four kingdoms as a tournment for all fighters from the four kingdoms to go to the North Kingdom so they can resigter. Noah smiled.'' This will be good. I can show off my skills to the other kingdoms.'' Noah said as he heard a voice and he turned seeing his father, the king.'' Oh. Hello Father. I was hoping you would let me go to the Kingdom tournment. I want to make the South Kingdom proud.'' Noah said.'' Of course my son. Go and be careful.'' his father said. Noah went to his house and grabbed a bag with supplies and his sword.'' Time to set out. It'll take me a few days, but I'll make it.'' Noah said as he walked outside of the kingdom gates heading to the north kingdom.

Alexia turned and waved to her teacher as she walked off. Right before she walked out of the capital,a messege in the bulletin board catched her eye. She walked up to it and stared. "A...tornument?"Alexia wonders. She stared and read. "Its of all the four Kingdoms..."Alexia mutters. She thought for a while and looked back. Her teacher had walked off to her own bussiness. Alexia turned her attention back to the poster. "Well...I've never really seen other Kingdoms,or any warriors from them before..."Alexia says. She stared at it and read. "It will be held at the North Kingdom."Alexia says. She got goosebumps. "I head ts pretty cold up there,aw man."Alexia says as she whined. She stared and then looked at her staff. She smiled. "Then its settled. My first stop will be at the North Kingdom."Alexia says. She turned and walked off and out of the capital,determined to return to the East Kingdom stronger than ever before. She then took out a map from her back and stared at it. "Ok...lets hope I don't get lost..."Alexia says as she walked off.

Duo walked the streets of the kingdom, he was enjoying the sights, especially the beaches. As he began waking past the square, he noticed something, a poster, "The Kingdom Tournament," he read if the poster, "a tournament for all comers of every Kingdom. What do you think Balis?" Duo asked. The lizard poked its head out from Duo's collar and hissed his usually agreeing hiss, Balis had to hide in his master's coat as to avoid any unwanted attention. "Well lets go then, says here that the tournament's in the North Kingdom, sorry Balis, but it's really cold up there," Balis hissed again, this time disapprovingly, like most reptiles, Balis had a dislike for the cold.

 

The two cut their trip to the South short, and headed north. As the two reached the edge of town, something came across Duo's mind, "We may cross the ruins of the Central Kingdom, that should be...interesting..." he said.

Aria looked at a piece of paper that was laid on the nearby table," Oh... we are hosting the tournament? Cool." She smiled left out some food for her brothers, the shops would be opening up soon and she couldn't wait for them to wake up. Aria grabbed her bow and arrows slingign her arrows over her back and stepped out into the cold air. She looked around to see everything covered in a light dusting of snow, " I hope all of my opponents don't freeze to death first." She laughed to herself rememebring the time a southern kingdom man wandered through and thought he had entered hell. " Theres nothing wrong with the place, its beautful... just cold haha." Aria walked up to the tournament area to see people setting up. Since when did we have room for this?

When the growl mysteriously left, he figure quickly reached his intened destanation, a fugitive camp on the outskirts of the Central Kingdom. It was quaint, but the years after the war made it seem more like a small village than anything. It was probably the largest one too, with a survivng population of about 100 people. As the figure walked in, he was immediately greeted by the head of the town, a stocky balding man by the name of Den.

 

"Ah, Sync! You're just in time." Den said, doing a brisk walk in Sync's direction.

 

"You know I prefer to keep my name...secret." Sync replied, his visor shielded face turning towards Den.

 

Den laughed. "Yes, yes. But a scout of ours found a interesting poster I thought you'd enjoy." Den nodded to a makeshift bulletinboard, and Sync hurried over to it.

 

On the board displayed a single poster, one proclaiming about a tournament of sorts. It was located in the Northern Kingdom. Sync sighed.

 

"Den, you realize this one of the most hated Kingdoms? That getting there would be trouble, and getting in would be even more so? How am I going to get in, why I do not have the skills the other Kingdoms so easily brag about?"

 

Den laughed again. "Do you know wield two amrlets, both fused to your body alone? Sync, you weild fire and weapons of power. I'm sure you could pass for a boy of the East Kingdom."

 

Although the visor made anyone seeing Sync's emotions hard- Sync was smiling. He nodded to Den, before quickly retreiving his gear. Perhaps the day would be more interesting after all.

Alexia walked around the tropical forest path. She stared at the map. "Aw man...this is pretty confusing.."Alexia says. It was dark still a bit. Which was a good thing that her element was light,as she used her staff to light the way as she walked. She closed the map and decided to just follow the path and take a look at the tmap again if she happened to find a crossway. "Hm...I am a bit hungry..."Alexia says. She thought for a while and then took out a piece of bread from her bag and took a bit out of it. "Hm...this is good bread..."Alexia says. Her parents had died of an accident that had happened a few years back. It was in the rainy season,and the rivers were starting to overflow. Just as they tried to stop the rivers from getting into the houses,a massive amount of water came down and took away a bunch of the people,including her parents. Alexia shook her head and finished her piece of bread. She then looked up and saw the run rising quickly,she tapped her staff down and it stopped glowing as she wouldn't be needed it anymore. She then stopped as she faced a three way fork way. She looked around from side to side. "Wait,where's the north kingdom one???"Alexia asks as she opened her map again.

Duo as walking down a rather winding path, somehow the path be chose brought him back to the tropical forests of the East Kingdom. The path seemed to rise and fall with the land, as well as wind and twist more than a serpent. Once it began to level out, it converged with three other.
