Vanitas for me. With all of the muddled motives behind each character, Riku, the Organization (without getting into spoilers, what they believed they were trying to achieve), it's nice to have a character who is pure evil, with no remorse, and doesn't try to justify his actions... and don't get me started on his whole "origin" story from the BBS texts. As far as I'm concerned, they aren't official canon, and all they do is try and make Vanitas a sympathetic character, when what makes him such an amazing villain is how unapoligeticly evil he is. He's not a sympathetic character, and he's not supposed to be. KH already has WAY too many of those.

 

Plus, most villains always talk about getting their hearts, taking someone's heart / body, sending people into darkness, etc. Vanitas is the only one who flatout goes "I'm going to kill your friends, take everything you care about, and there isn't anything you can do about it."

I love vanitas, bad- riku, and ansem but in the first game I liked maleficent as a villain too.
