Not-with-a-whimper 144 Posted May 4, 2012 Toby Mchugs was a better spiderman I honestly think that this new guy is doing a really good job. My favorite thing from what I've seen is that he's got down the trademark quirky/belittling humor characteristic of Spiderman, while Toby did a really good job playing mild-mannered and/or intense, but seemed to lack that playfulness that always made Spiderman my favorite Marvel character. baylaust 2,531 Posted May 5, 2012 (edited) I'm keeping a cautious optimism for this. I genuinely want to like this movie, and it looks like the cast is solid. However, I am a little sketchy on a few things. 1. This movie will be dealing with what happened to Peter's parents. Problem is: his parents are tied to S.H.I.E.L.D, which is a roadblock since they CAN'T have anything to do with S.H.I.E.L.D because it's not a Marvel Studios movie. It's a Sony movie. 2. I still think they're rebooting the series way too soon. It's only been 5 years since the last Spider-Man movie. At least with a reboot like Batman, it had been about 10 years, and the movie beforehand had crippled the entire superhero genre almost beyond repair. 3. Don't forget; the only reason this is being made is so that Sony can keep the rights to make Spider-Man movies. It IS a cash grab, and it IS rushed, those are facts.
