VI stood outside a building. The second tallest building in all of L.A., to be more precise. It was large and simple, seemingly a regular office building. But in all truth, it was acutally the headquarters for Panancea Inc, the Umbrella-esque medicine company that -Akin to the evil fantasy corporation- did experiments on those unlucky enough to be captured. As for VI, the black haired teen he was, he bravely stood out in defiance of the place that once took him captive. As of now, VI took advantage of Panancea's 'free' wi-fi.

 

With speed, he easily hacked into a random bank account, depositing money into the fake one he set up for this situation. Closing the firewall and eliminating the trace, VI nimbly hacked into the largest pharmacuetical corpoation, while inconspicously looking like your average teen. With a grin, VI walked off.

Experiment #15 let out a sigh and leaned against a fence where there was a nice and safe view of the Panacea Inc. "They have some nerve capturing innocent people like us," she muttered to herself. She stared at the tall building, wishing it would just collapse with all those evil scientists with them, but it stood still. The faint memory of her trying to escape them when she first entered the horrible company came back and haunted her. They are all lies, making other people to believe that they are innocent. She let her eyes fall off the building and at the ground and walked across the street of the hotel where she was staying for a while before she has to relocate.

6206 walked down the dark L.A. street, looking around, feeling lonely and sad. With no idea who he was, or exactly WHAT he was, the only thing capable of making him feel better is finding someone like him, or at least someone who knew the answers to his many questions. He looked up at the signs. It seemed wherever he went, Panacea Inc. seemed to follow.

A mugger walked up to him and pushed 6206 into a wall. "Come on, you know the drill. Give me your money and your valuables."

"Trust me, I don't have anything you'll want." He laughed to himself, unphased by the mugging.

The mugger pushed him harder and pulled out a knife. "Oh, you think this is funny? How about I stab you, I'm sure that'll be hilarious."

This started to get to 6206. "Hey man, I told you I don't have anything."

"Then I guess this isn't your day." The mugger stabbed 6206 in the stomach. He fell to the ground. The mugger began to lunge at 6206 as he quickly waved his hands at the mugger and closed his eyes. After a few seconds he opened his eyes and realized it worked. He froze the mugger. Well temporarily at least. He got up and laughed for a little bit, until he coughed up blood. He was getting weaker. He started limping away, trying to get away before the mugger unfroze. And good thing to, because the mugger unfroze just as 6206 limped around the corner.

"Ugh, damn chair."

 

Sean was having trouble adjusting. To everything. The move to L.A., the new case, one he was heading up all by himself, even the stupid chair at his new desk took some time to get used to. He adjusted it a bit more and spun in it once, then he leaned a bit back and took a look at his computer. Panacea Inc. A drug corporation with no outward indicators of problems or malpractice. Why were all these strange events seemingly centered around them, then? There were lot of reports of odd people in the city. People who caused unexplained phenomena or were phenomena themselves. It all tied back to Panacea; it was often reported the people sighted were around the area of their HQ and they had received several tips warning against the company. But there was absolutely nothing to go on.

 

With any luck, the cold trail would heat up fast, though. L.A. police reported directly to Sean on any issues related to the reports and sightings, and hopefully that would bring him to a lead; any lead. That was all he needed now.

 

The phone rang.

 

"Yes, Special Agent Sean Deiren, what is it?"

 

"Sir, we've found an area where there was a certain incident.You'll want to come immediately, a car is on it's way."

 

20 minutes later Sean stood in what seemed to be a normal motel room. A wide-eyed maid sat on a chair in the corner, flanked by police trying to get a detailed report of what she saw. The clock was off time. It seemed to tie along with her report of the room being frozen in time. But how could that have happened? It seemed impossible. Just then an officer approached him.

 

"Sir, I, uh, don't know if it's important, but the maid's report seems to indicate the TV was on at the time, and the programming at the time was a...commercial."

 

"Ok, thanks." Sean waved it off, the TV commercial probably had nothing to do with what happened in the room. But just then a thought shot into his head. His glance snapped back to the officer.

 

"Wait, what was the commercial for?"

 

"A, uh, drug."

 

"A drug made by who?"

 

"Panacea I think, sir."

 

How? How were they involved? This was more than enough evidence for Sean to conclude that what was reported to have happened did happen. He moved quickly to the door. and found the detective on the scene.

 

"I need an alert sent out to all officers to look out for reports of events like this. If you would, I need it now!" The detective nodded wordlessly and left the room. Sean darted outside and got in his car.

 

This was the closest he'd come to a lead, if he could catch one now, he could have something to truly go on, but he needed to hurry. The alert was already sent out. Now he just had to hope that whoever froze that room would do the same thing somewhere else in the city.

Drake took in a deep breath from through his nose as he looked around his new surroundings in L.A.. Though he was in human form, he had stoked his fires in case he needed to barbecue anybody. Unfortunately that meant smoke was coming out of his mouth and nose. Something normal humans didn't do. He cooled himself down and the smoke faded. He'd need to find a way to camouflage his smoke somehow. He'd figure out that later.

He moved out of the alley he was in and started walking. He knew They would be after him at some point. No reason to make it easy for Them.

While now seen, sitting in a chair, reading a newspaper and having a cup of Joe, was Zebra seen, talking to himself, saying "I wonder, could i find any bustling attractivements, here in Vega." said Zebra, talking a little bit out loud, to himself only and while wishing to visit the great landmarks that Vega had to offer him.

#37 put her head down and took of sprinting away from the police car. " Hey you there! Wait!" The cop yelled after her, #37 made the mistake of looking over her shoulder to see the policeman runnign after her. She whipped her head back around the ducked into a nearby alley twisting and turning along the narrow streets she had memorized from her frequent escapes from the police. She peaked around the corner of a building to see the cop run past still yelling.

" Idiot.." She breathed and leaned against the wall panting trying to ctach her breath, " All that for not giving him a name?" She wondered outloud then pulled her black hood over her light blonde hair to help her blend in with the crowds on the streets. She walked back out onto the sidewalks hugging the buildings to make a quick escape is she was spotted again. #37 stuck her hands in her pockets then stopped.

" Where did the money..." Her eyes widened and she patted each one of her pockets, she cursed under her breath and closed her eyes,

" Why didn't I see that coming?"

6206 slowly walked past the motel he was in. He saw police cars outside the room he was in.

"Oh no." he whispered coughing up more blood. "I must have been careless." He moved the thought out of his head. "As far as I know, the Panacea doesn't have a specific way of identifying experiments, so for now I'm safe from them. Right now I have to focus on finding a hospital."

A few blocks down he slowly trudged towards a hospital, and collapsed. "No, not here..." He slowly closed his eyes as people noticed him and the last thing he saw before passing out were the hospital lights as they took him in.

#27 was going through the cities various alleys, his eyes flit from place to place as he ran. At the moment, he was trying to get away from a couple of bounty hunters from Panacea Inc. His attention was focused on a blue pipe sticking out of the ground, he smiled, he turned his head, the bounty hunters were still behind him. #27 quickly ran past the blue pipe and skid to a halt. From the back of his waist he pulled two short, black metal rods. The rods buzzed as he charged them with kinetic energy. He slammed the bottom ends into the ground, sending a huge blast of concrete into the air, creating a large shroud of dust.

 

#27 smiled again, the ground he smashed was tampered with, his own handy work, to make a rather clever trap. All of the ground before the blue pipe was hallowed out, only barely able to support a person waking on it. The alley crumbled, the ground beneath the bounty hunters feet opening up and swallowing them into the pit #27 had made.

 

He had things like these everywhere, his own system of traps, supplies, hide outs and other things for his survival. It was his pride and joy, the markers that showed him where everything was were easy for him to spot and harder for others to find. He casually walked through the alley, a red cross-pipe was visible towards the end of the alley, a supply depot, good, he needed more stuff.

99 was sitting in his hotel room when Bounty Hunters knocked down the door. 99 then jumped up and fell through the floor. He then hit the floor changing his density to a strength like steel and started sprinting as police showed up due to a disturbance hearing the bounty hunters guns. The police saw him running so the chased after him. 99 was getting shot at but bullets just bounced off him. 99 then ran into a crowd of people so they would have to stop moving. 99 walked out and the cops had the area surrounded and had him boxed in within a minute

VI continued to smile, strolling down the road. he had also intentionally left an obvious 'backdoor' into the hacked area, not only for another easier way into Panancea's systems, but so Panancea could recognize their failure. That recognition came early, when a couple black sedans drove up near where VI was standing.

 

Blasted bio-chip. They found me. I've got to got out before the can home on my signal or recognize me. Quickly thinking, VI pulled his collar up more, and putting on a pair of tinted glasses. His eyes were a dead give-away, based on the way they glowed. Even though VI tried to outmaneuver the oncoming guards, they still kept within pace as they attempted to target him. A unaimed shot whizzed past VI's ear. The signal they had found him.

The CEO of Panacea Inc., Mr. Hirozaki stood with his rather round and bulky body, looking out through a window that viewed all of L.A. while smoking a cigar. One of the bounty hunters had entered. "I'm sorry to barge in Mr. Hirozaki, but I just wanted to let you know that we've been picking up a lot of "Experiment" activity."

The CEO huffed in some of the cigar, and blew smoke out slowly. He spoke, "Just as I expected. Almost all of the experiments from all over our country wide factories have all been drawn to our headquarters. It'll be interesting to see what they'll do next." He put out his cigar and threw it into an ash tray.

As the bounty hunter turned to leave, Mr. Hirozaki spoke up again, "Don't hurt my children, alright? I want to be able to see each and everyone of their faces. I have a plan for all of them." He said chuckling in his deep voice as he looked back out the window.

(And idk, these bounty hunters chasing us seem a little weak. Maybe I'll play a bounty hunter too, if neccessary. Heh heh )

#37 looked over and noticed a bunch of cops surrounding someone, She had a quick vision, " Thats not goign to end well...." She looked around for something to distract the policemen. She noticed a cleaning supplies store nearby and grinned, " Perfect." She lifted someone's wallet and bought a couple chemicals. #37 mixed them together and through them through the window of the shop next door. A loud explosions came from the shop and screams were heard but she knew it wasn't going to do too bad of damage. The cops ran to check out the explosion and #37 ran to the guy. " You ok?" She asked. ( talking to number 99)

#27 grabbed what he needed and a change of clothes, he'd been spotted so he wants the best chance of not being recognized. He put on a short sleeve purple shirt under a black vest, a pair of jeans, a black military cap, fingerless gloves and a pair of boots. As he walked out of the alleys, he heard an explosion and ran to see what was happening, but after seeing a lot of cops going the same way he quickly turned around and went the other way. He noticed a guy on the ground and a girl trying to help him. #27 only barely noticed and tripped over the guy on the ground.

Sean's car sped past the rest on the road. A weird time-based disturbance had occurred involving a mugger. He was in custody now, but several witnesses had seen time stop around the mugger and another man, who's identity was unknown. He spoke to one of the department heads over speakerphone has he rushed to another scene of phenomena disturbances.

 

"The mugger doesn't remember time stopping" the cop said over the phone.

 

"Hmm, that may part of it, anything else he told you?"

 

"He said he may have injured the man" the speaker blared.

 

"Hold officers outside of all local hospitals, in an hour I want them all locked down. If one of these people is hurt, I don't want to take the chance of letting him loose."

 

"Yes, Mr. Deiren, I'll have my men on it at once. Where are you headed?"

 

"I've just had a report that a man who can withstand bullets easily was surrounded by police. The report they gave me stated he may have other powers, as he seemed to make unnaturally strong impacts on the ground. The police reports are scattered on the development now, there was apparently a nearby explosion, you're men can take care of that, I know that comes first, but I won't lose any possible leads, so I'm headed to track down whoever was spotted there. Reports also indicate an uncooperative girl who ran from officers in the location, that gives me two targets there to investigate." Sean said, growing impatient with how slowly he was getting there, but just then his GPS signaled he'd arrived.

 

The car skidded to a halt, he turned off the car immediately, switched his call to his phone and stepped out hurriedly.

 

"I'm going to look for these two, officer, keep me updated on the hospital situation." Sean said, then he brought his phone down and right as he was about to end the call he realized one more thing. He brought it back up to his face and then said "Oh, and by the way, see if you can find any odd happenings or news related to Panacea Inc."

 

The cop tersely responded. "Of course, I'll get right on it."

 

"Thank you, keep me up to date" He said, then ended the call. He looked around.

 

Time to find those two.

99 looked at the girl and nodded "Are you from... you know" 99 said thinking she looked familiar. 99 then saw a few cops turn back around and started fire at the alleged bomber. The cops raised their guns and started to fire. 99 then grabbed the girl and changed his density so light that the bullets passed right through him. Lucky for her his powers transferred over and bullets passed through her too. "I am SO glad that worked" 99 said as he grabbed her hand and saw a guy tripping. With the bullets around he coudln't let that guy get hurt so he grabbed the guys arm and ran through a building leading them into a hidden alley away from the cops. 99 dropped to the ground trying to catch his breath

#37 peaked out from the alley, " We lost them, for now anyways." She sighed then turned back to the guy. She held out her hand, " Well since I already know where you are from, I'm number 37." She said she had a sudden vision from their near future that caused her eyes to glow a slight blue from her normally grey eyes. She blinked and decided it wasn't important for now. " The police don't like you either huh?"

Sean rushed to the cops opening fire on two people. His voice seemed rushed and a bit angry.

 

"What the hell are you doing! They're not firing at you, who the hell gave you permission to try and kill them!"

 

"We... uh, well" One of the officers stammered.

 

"Head back to your Sergeant, and watch your trigger fingers!" Sean said, now calm.

 

A few dozen police were rushing to control the site of the explosion. Sean called a few of the over, and flashed his badge. "I need a perimeter on this area now, try to collect some descriptions of the people we're looking for." Sean pointed to two officers; "You two, head over to those alleys," he moved his hand to point toward several far alleys, "check them for any potential suspects of witnesses, the rest of you, get that perimeter if you could."

 

The police scattered in several directions. The suspects had disappeared. For now, at least. Sean didn't know what to make of them. He didn't know if they were hostile, or if they were working for or against Panacea, but he was determined not to hurt them, regardless of their intentions. Most indications had shown that many were young. The police he sent over to the alley wouldn't find anything, that hadn't been where those two had gone. Sean looked around and identified the most likely spot and decided to go searching himself.

6206 awoke in a hospital bed. He saw the knife wound, covered in bandages.

A nurse walked in with a form. "Oh good your awake. Here how about I ask a few questions ok? Let's start with the easy stuff first. What's your name? And do you know where your parents work?"

If only she knew how uneasy those questions were.

"Umm gee, I'm a little tired, can you come back later?" 6206 pleaded

"Oh I suppose I could give you a couple minutes. I'll be right back." she said as she left the room. He contemplated what name he should make up. He had never actually been in this situation before. He thought of many things in those few minutes. One of the things being his power. The scientists in the factory he came from at first suspected 6206 could freeze time. But realizing not everything froze when he used his powers, they determined he could instead freeze atoms, giving the appearance of freezing time. However the more they had talked of freezing time, the more he wished that was his powers. The nurse came back in.

"Alright, you ready to answer some questions?" another nurse walked in, and although trying to quietly whisper, 6206 could make out what he was saying.

"We're locking down in 5 minutes..." the other nurse whispered.

Crap. It was obvious the lockdown was because of him. 6206 had to figure out something fast.

"Can I go the the bathroom?" he asked politely.

"I'm sorry, the patients aren't allowed to leave their room." she said disappointingly. "You can use the bedpan."

6206 sighed. Ok I'm sorry, I don't have time for this." he waved his hands to freeze the nurses, and disconnected all the needles attached to him. The machines began to sound.

"Crap, I didn't freeze the machines." he yelled at himself. In nothing but the hospital gown, he snuck past all the nurses, and reached the exit.

"Hey wait! Stop!" the lady at the front desk yelled. 6206 began to run.

"I gotta find clothes, or I'll be easy to find for sure." he said to himself when he couldn't see the hospital anymore. He glanced over and saw a blown up clothes store, with some clothes still intact. He ran towards it and as he approached, he saw two people who must've had the same goal as 6206 (the two figures being 99 and 37). He hid behind a brick wall, hoping they wouldn't see him.

99 grabbed her hand in shook it "Nice to meet you 37, i'm 99" he quickly dropped her hand after the vision cause it freaked him out. "Please tell me that has to do with your ability? But yeah Cops don't like it when you run from a place where gunman were sighted." 99 laughed. 99 then sat down. "lets just wait here for a while for things to calm down." 99 thought this was a pretty good place to hide it was in between outer walls of multiple buildings blocked out. it was only accessible for people with his ability even though he was the only one.

Being behind a brick wall were 99 and 37 could be seen, 6206 leaned closer trying to hear their conversation. He then accidentally tripped on his hospital gown and fell in front of them. 'What an embarrasing way to go' he thought to himself 'death by accidentally tripping on a gown in front of potentially dangerous people. Great. Just great.'

#37 smiled, " Ya it is don't worry." She sat down next to him and sighed. " I'm pretty sure we are going to have company soon though." She said looking around the alley. Her vision started to make more sense and she got ready to run just incase. She jumped and held back a yelp when someone fell infront of them. " So your who I saw." She thought outloud standing up. She kept her hand on one of her guns hidden under her sweatshirt and held out the other to help him up. " Your 6206 right?" She asked hoping that didn't just freak him out, she forgot not everyone knew her ability.

As he got up and brushed himself off, he looked puzzled at her. "Ummm how did... Wait, are you one of the experiments from Panacea Inc.?" He smiled. Finally he had found someone like him. Maybe even someone who knew more about what had happened, if her experiment number was low. "I'm assuming he's one too. So I guess you guys know my number, what's yours, if I may ask?"
