Queen Tery 4,591 Posted May 2, 2012 CHAPTER 7: NT. MOTEL ROOM-EVENING (Nate is sitting on the couch watching TV. Suddenly, Travis walks in and sets his keys on the dresser.) Nate: Hey, man. How’d it go? Travis: Good, everything was great. We had dinner and talked for a while. It was nice seeing her, again. (Travis lies down on his bed and stares up at the ceiling.) Nate: So, you met her in high school? Travis: Yeah, we both went to a school called OCLC. It was a school for kids that caused trouble in the public school system. Nate: Oh, I see! You were a “bad egg!” Travis: That’s what the school system believed. I caused a lot of problems and they sent me off to OCLC. I met Anna there. After I graduated, I began traveling and I haven’t seen her since. Nate: What’d you do to get sent off to OCLC? Travis: A few minor things and then I accidentally burnt down part of my high school. Nate: Why did you do that? Travis: I don’t even know that I actually did it. I just got angry and blacked out. When I woke up the room I was in was burnt to the ground. I got out of there and the teacher’s saw me running out. I got pinned for it and they sent me away. That way I wouldn’t be their problem, anymore. Nate: That sucks. Of course, I don’t know much about high school. I never went. Travis: You never went to high school? Nate: Nope. I was in an orphanage most of my life, but when I was about 14 years old I left and I’ve been living on the streets ever since. Travis: Why would you purposely leave your home to live on the streets? Nate: I hated it there. I was always bored and I didn’t get along with many of the other kids. Besides, I wasn’t getting adopted and by the time I was 14 I realized that I never would. So, I eventually made my way to L.A. Of course, I hated it in L.A., too. Things weren’t much different than my life back at the orphanage. (They sit there in silence, but only for a moment.) Travis: I’m in a pretty good mood right now. Don’t expect this to happen a lot. (Travis smiles and Nate laughs.) EXT. FAYETTVILLE, ARKANSAS (Travis and Nate are driving down the open road, not a vehicle in sight. Suddenly, a winged demon swoops down and lands in front of their car. Travis slams on the break, bringing the car to a halt.) Travis: F***ing annoying piece of shit. (Travis grabs his sword and coat; he quickly gets out of the car and puts them on. He pulls one of his guns out of his coat pocket. The beast roars and rushes at Travis. Travis unloads a clip and kills the beast. But, many other demons swoop in and continue the assault. Nate gets out of the car and picks up some rocks, throwing them at the demons.) Travis: Thanks for the support and all, but you’re not really doing anything other than pissing them off! (Travis lets lose stream after stream of bullets, putting down each demon that comes at him. However, a group of demons that is on foot join the battle, as well. Travis runs out of bullets.) Travis: Shit! (Travis puts his guns away and unsheathes his sword. He hacks through each of the demons. But, there are many more than the wave that he faced back in Seligman.) Nate: Watch out! (Travis barely manages to dodge one of the demon’s claws. He quickly hacks the demon apart and moves onto the next one. He eventually finishes them all off and turns around, facing Nate. One of the winged demons flies overhead and drops a large ogre like demon.) Nate: Holy shit! (Travis stumbles forward, because of the small earthquake caused from the demon falling to the ground. Travis turns around, but is quickly tackled to the ground, by the demon. He drops his sword and puts his hands against the demon’s hand, trying to keep it from killing him. He yells out, in pain. Nate picks up a group of larger rocks and throws them at the demon’s head. The demon furiously lets go of Travis and rushes toward Nate. Nate stumbles backwards, realizing that he has no real way of defending himself. Travis gets up and releases a bolt of red light from his hand at the demon’s back. The demon is burned alive and he falls, no longer a threat.) Nate: Shit, man! What the hell was that red light?! (Travis is breathing heavily. He looks down and sees a large stab wound in his side. It was most likely caused from the demon tackling him with its claws.) Nate: Shit… (Travis falls forward, unconscious. Nate rushes over and picks him up putting him in the back of the car. He takes the keys from Travis’ pocket and starts the car.) Nate: Hold on, buddy. I’ll get you to a hospital, as fast as I can! 1 Kirie reacted to this

Queen Tery 4,591 Posted May 3, 2012 (edited) CHAPTER 8: INT. TRAVIS’ DREAMS (Scenes of Travis’ past flash through his mind, while he is unconscious. Travis, at 14 years old, is sitting in the principal’s office. The principal is yelling at him and another adult.) Principal: I want him out of my school! All he does is cause trouble! Let OCLC handle him! (The memory switches to Travis sitting in class at OCLC. A 15 year old, Anna is sitting behind Travis. She taps his shoulder and passes him a note. Travis opens it up and reads it, in his head. The teacher walks up.) Teacher: Travis, what is so important that it couldn’t wait until after class? Travis: F*** off. If it was meant for you to read, I would’ve passed it to you. (The class bursts out laughing. The teacher’s face turns bright red.) Teacher: To the principal’s office, immediately! (The memory skips to one where Travis and Anna are now 18 years old and have graduated.) Travis: I’m sorry, Anna, but I’m not staying here. I will find the bastard that took my parents from me and I’m going to kill him. Anna: But, Travis, what if you never find him? The world’s a big place. You might spend the rest of your life only running around in circles. Travis: I’m willing to spend the rest of my life doing this, if it means avenging my parents. Nothing you say is going to change my mind. I decided this a long time ago. INT. FAYETTVILLE HOSPITAL (Travis wakes up in a hospital bed. He looks around confused. The doctor walks into the room, looking at some documents on a clipboard.) Travis: Where am I?! (Travis tries to sit up, but the doctor intervenes and guides him back into lying down.) Doctor: It’s alright Mr. Mason. You’re in Fayetteville Hospital. You have a nasty wound in your side, but we’ve fixed you right up. We ask that you relax and remain here for the remainder of the day and then you may leave. Travis: No can do, doc. (Travis slowly gets out of the bed.) Doctor: Mr. Mason… Travis: F*** off. (Travis slowly walks toward the door.) Doctor: Mr. Mason, I noticed that you don’t have medical insurance. (Travis stops, just before reaching the door. He lowers his head and closes his eyes.) Travis: Shit. Doctor: Make sure that you pay your bill in the lobby. Travis: Will do! (Travis walks out the door.) Travis: Asshole. INT. HOSPITAL LOBBY (Travis enters the lobby and sees Nate sitting on the other end of the room.) Nate: Travis! (Nate gets up and hurries over to make sure he’s alright.) Nate: It’s good to see you standing, again! Travis: Thanks. (Travis walks past Nate and makes his way to the counter.) Travis: My name’s Travis Mason. How much is my bill? (The receptionist types at her computer, searching for Travis’ bill.) Receptionist: That’ll be $2000. Travis: F***! (The people in the lobby look over, confused. The receptionist clears her throat, nervously.) Nate: Man, calm down. People are staring. (Travis puts on a fake smile and pays the receptionist.) INT. FAYETTEVILLE BAR-AFTERNOON (Travis and Nate are sitting at the bar eating cheese fries and drinking beer.) Travis: F***ing $2000. You should’ve just let me die. (They both laugh.) Travis: In all seriousness, thank you. I don’t trust very many people, but I know that I can trust you with my life. Nate: No problem, man. You would’ve done the same for me. Travis: Nope. I wouldn’t have. Dude, I barely know you. But, because of this you can trust me with your life, as well. Nate: Good, because I don’t think I’m going to kill any demons with some f***ing rocks. I need you to back me up! (They both laugh and then take a drink.) INT. FAYETTEVILLE GUN STORE (Travis walks into the shop and takes a moment to look around. He walks up to the clerk.) Clerk: How can I help you, sir? Travis: I’m looking to buy some ammunition. Clerk: You got a permit? (Travis pulls out his wallet and shows the guy his gun permit.) Travis: I need 700 .45 ACP’s. 11.43 mm. Clerk: That’s quite a bit of ammo, buddy. What are you thinking of using it for? Travis: I’m heading east and I need it for protection. You watch the news, don’t you? (The clerk leaves Travis and gets the ammo.) INT. FAYETTEVILLE MOTEL (Nate is watching TV, when Travis walks in. Nate is watching Batman: The Animated Show. Travis sets the case of ammunition on the dresser and sits down on the couch.) Travis: What the hell are you watching? Nate: Batman. Travis: Batman? Nate: You’ve never heard of Batman. Travis: Nope. Nate: You’ve got to be shitting me! Dude, Batman’s got to be like the coolest superhero, ever! You see this guy, Bruce Wayne, watched his parents get shot and killed by some low-life thug when he was a kid. So, he decides to get revenge by fighting crime as a vigilante. He learns martial arts and uses his inheritance to make all these awesome gadgets and gizmos. Travis: Then he dresses up like a bat and beats the shit out of criminals? Nate: Yeah. Travis: When I was ten, my parents were brutally murdered right in front of me. I’ll never forgive the bastard that did it, but if I decide to fight crime, while dressed up like a f***ing bat, I want you to shoot me. (They sit in silence and watch the show for a while.) Travis: This is not how most people would handle their parent’s death. Nate: Shut up and watch the Joker get the shit knocked out of him. It’s the best part! (They sit and watch the show for a while longer.) Nate: Hey, I forgot to ask you. When you stopped that demon from killing me, what did you do to kill it? It looked like some weird red light came out of your hand? Travis: Oh, yeah. I don’t know what the f*** that is. I can’t really control it. It just kind of happens out of nowhere. Nate: You don’t ever wonder what the hell it is? Travis: Hell yeah. But, wondering ain’t going to do shit in helping me figure that out. Nate: Well, just don’t ever give me a high-five or you might burn my hand off. (They laugh and continue to watch Batman.) Queen Tery 4,591 Posted May 4, 2012 CHAPTER 9: EXT. MOTEL-MORNING (The next morning Travis is putting the ammunition in the trunk of the car. Nate walks by him, but he stops him and hands him one of his guns.) Travis: Here, as we as head further east it’s going to become more important that you be able to defend yourself. Nate: Thanks. Travis: No problem. This way you won’t have to throw rocks at them. (Travis and Nate get in the car and continue their trip.) EXT. MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE (Travis walks into a gas station and uses a payphone to call Anna. He dials and sits through each ring, but she doesn’t pick up.) Travis: Hey, Anna, it’s Travis. I was just calling to let you know that I’m just outside of Memphis, Tennessee. So, it won’t be much longer ‘til I’m in NC. I’ll meet you in Jacksonville, NC, at Five Guys, if that’s alright with you. Considering how much time we went there as kids, I figure you’d like that. Talk to you later. (Travis hangs up the phone. He stands there for a moment, as if thinking. Then he smiles and walks out of the gas station. Nate is filling up the car, at the gas pump.) Nate: You good? Travis: Yeah, as soon as you’re done, we’re hitting the road, again. (Travis gets in the car.) INT. GREENVILLE, NC-NOON (Travis and Nate are driving through a large town.) Nate: So, where in North Carolina are we headed? Travis: Jacksonville. We’re just under 2 hours away. Nate: Why are you headed there, anyway? I know you wouldn’t tell me before, but I feel like we’ve become pretty good friends, right? Travis: …I wasn’t telling the whole truth when I said that North Carolina is my destination. I definitely will be staying here for a few days, but in about a week I’m leaving North Carolina. Nate: Where are you headed? Travis: Tokyo, Japan. Or at least… what’s left of it. Nate: What’s left it? What happened to Tokyo? Travis: Man, you really got to start watching the news. Tokyo’s gone. It’s just an empty wasteland. Whatever those things are that have made their way to America, they did it. They destroyed Tokyo and it looks like that’s what they’re probably going to do to the rest of the world. Nate: So, you plan on stopping them, right? See, I knew you were a good guy, you care about people! Travis: I’m going to stop them, but saving the planet is at the bottom of my priority list. Nate: Then why do you care about stopping them? Travis: The bastard that’s leading them killed my parents. I was only ten and he took them both away from me, right in front of me. I’m going to Tokyo and I’m going to kill him. You can do whatever you want, once we get to Jacksonville. Nate: Well, I want to save the world… and you know, help you out, of course. (They both start laughing.) Travis: Before we get to Jacksonville, though, I want to make a quick stop in Richlands. Nate: What for? Travis: Personal stuff. INT. RICHLANDS, NC-AFTERNOON (Travis and Nate drive through a small neighborhood. They eventually come upon a house that looks similar to Travis’ home when he was a child. He parks the car across the street and stares at the new house. A little boy runs out from the backyard, screaming happily. His father and mother run out from the backyard chasing him.) Father: I’m coming for you, kiddo! Son: You can’t catch me! (They’re all laughing and having a great time. The dad finally catches his son and picks him up. He turns him upside down and runs around, holding onto him. The son laughs, uncontrollably, as his mother becomes concerned.) Mother: Be careful, honey! I don’t want him getting hurt! Father: Oh, he’s fine! We’re just having fun! (Travis watches the family, picturing his own in their place. Travis sits there in silence, his face showing more and more pain as time passes.) Nate: Hey… you alright, man? (Travis jumps back into reality.) Travis: …Huh? Uh, yeah, I’m fine. (He rubs his eyes, still turned away from Nate.) Travis: I’m fine. (Travis puts on a fake smile and drives down the street, acting as if nothing ever happened.) 1 Kirie reacted to this
Queen Tery 4,591 Posted May 10, 2012 CHAPTER 10: EXT. JACKSONVILLE HOTEL-EVENING (Travis and Nate pull into the parking lot of a hotel.) INT. JACKSONVILLE HOTEL (Travis and Nate walk into the room. They set what little stuff they have on them down. Travis grabs a pillow and blanket and puts it on the couch. He lies down on the couch, exhausted.) Nate: Hey, if you don’t mind, I think I’m going to hit the sack. Travis: Bed’s all yours. Nate: Really? You usually take the bed and I take the couch. Travis: That’s exactly why I’m letting you sleep on the bed. Think of it as your turn. (Nate smiles and then makes his way over to the bed, lying down.) Travis: Nate, why’d you hitch a ride across the country with a complete f***ing stranger? Nate: Well, I looked at what I had to lose and what I had to gain from it. I had no home, no friends, no family; I had nothing to lose from leaving L.A. Then I looked at what I might gain out of this. A chance to start over, an adventure, a friend; they were all possibilities. Travis: Yeah, but you didn’t even know me. I could’ve f***ing killed you and stolen all your money. You were willing to trust me with your life, yet you didn’t even know me. Nate: Honestly, if you killed me it wouldn’t really matter. Like I said, I had no friends and no family. If you had killed me, no one would’ve missed me and I wouldn’t have had any regrets. So, it was basically like a last shot at life for me. I’m glad I took it. INT. JACKSONVILLE, HOTEL-MORNING (Nate wakes up with the TV on and Travis sitting on the couch, drinking a beer. He’s watching Batman: The Animate Series. Travis looks over at Nate, who is smiling.) Travis: It was the only thing on. Nate: Uh huh. Travis: I was bored. Nate: Whatever you say. (Nate gets out of bed and goes into the bathroom.) INT. JACKSONVILLE BAR-AFTERNOON (Travis and Nate are sitting at the bar drinking beer and eating hoagies.) Travis: Anna’s supposed to be here, tomorrow. We were supposed to meet at Five Guys, but she wants me to pick her up at her parent’s place. She’s flying in, so she won’t have a vehicle of her own. Nate: That’s cool. Travis: I really care about her. It’s weird, because other than hanging out with her in high school, I don’t really know her. But, I look at her and I talk to her and I can’t help but feel like she’s perfect. Nate: Her ass is perfect, I can tell you that. Travis: She does have a great f***ing ass! God, you’re getting your own room tomorrow! (They both burst out laughing.) EXT. ANNA’S PARENT’S HOME-AFTERNOON (Travis is driving down the road, when he sees a group of demons attacking the neighborhood. He quickly parks the car and gets out. He grabs his sword and coat, putting them on.) Travis: HEY! GET YOUR ASSES OVER HERE! (The demons notice Travis and come after him. He pulls out his gun and pumps them all full of led. Some of the demons survive and continue toward Travis. Travis puts away his gun and unsheathes his sword. He runs at the demon’s hacking them apart. He rebounds off of the ones on the ground and cuts down one of the aerial demons. On his way back to the ground he plunges his blade into the head of one of the demons. He does a back flip off of the demon and slices the skull of the demon behind him. He lands on the ground and cuts its head off. He kills off every last one of the demons and quickly runs over to Anna’s parent’s house. He sees Anna’s parents, dead on the front lawn. His breathing becomes more rapid.) Travis: ANNA! (Travis hurries over to her house. The door is locked, so he quickly kicks it off the hinges. He rushes inside.) Travis: ANNA! (He hears her crying, somewhere in the house. He hurries up the stairs. Once he reaches the top, she bursts out of the nearby room and runs into his arms.) Anna: Travis! (She is bawling, unable to control herself. Travis wraps his arms around her and slowly calms down.) Travis: Shhh, calm down. Anna: They’re dead! My parents are… (She buries her face into Travis shoulder.) INT. FIVE GUYS (Travis and Anna are sitting at Five Guys, a burger and hotdog restaurant. Travis is eating, while Anna is staring out the window, with her food just sitting on the table. He stops eating and stares at her for a moment.) Anna: …They’re gone. Those things killed them. Travis: I’m sorry, Anna. Maybe, if I had been there sooner… Anna: No. This isn’t your fault. You couldn’t have possibly known that they would go there. (Anna looks at her food, picks up a fry and takes a bite. She leans back and continues to look out the window. Travis sighs and then continues to eat.) INT. JACKSONVILLE BAR-AFTERNOON (Nate is sitting at the bar, drinking and eating nachos.) Barkeep: So, you plan on heading out west on account of those monsters? Nate: Nah, a buddy and I are heading east, in fact. Barkeep: East? Are you guys insane? That’s where those things are coming from! Nate: Yeah, but we got our reasons. Barkeep: Whatever, buddy. I hope for your sake it’s worth it. Nate: I hope so, too. (Nate takes a drink and then continues eating.) INT. JACKSONVILLE BAR-EVENING (Travis and Anna are now at the bar, drinking.) Anna: So, you’re headed east? Travis: Yeah. Anna: Maybe you should rethink this. You just came back into my life. I can’t bear to lose you, too. Travis: Anna, you know I’m not going to stop. Not until he’s dead. Anna: But, what if you die trying? Do you think that your parents would’ve wanted that? Travis: …No. But, they also didn’t want to die. Anna: …Then at least let me come with you. This bastard may be responsible for murdering your parents, but now he’s responsible for killing mine, as well. Travis: If you want to come along, no one’s stopping you. (They both smile at each other. Travis guzzles down his beer.) INT. EMERALD ISLE SHORES (Travis, Nate, and Anna are sitting in Travis’ car on the shores of Emerald Isle. A long bridge made of a pitch black fog is forming across the ocean. They get out of the car to look at it.) Anna: What the hell is that? Travis: It’s a bridge. That bastard’s using it to connect North America to Africa. Nate: Buy, why? Travis: I don’t know and I don’t care. The point is that we can use this bridge to get to Africa. Then we’ll make our way to Tokyo, Japan. Or at least what’s left. INT. CASTLE (Azrael is speaking to the King.) Azrael: Sir, the bridge has reached North America. Based on my Intel, he should be heading across the bridge, as we speak. King: Dammit, he’s moving too fast. If he doesn’t slow down, then he’ll be here before my body has been unsealed. Azrael: My lord, you should have nothing to worry about. If Travis gets here early, then we’ll just subdue him. We’ll take him down, without killing him, and keep him here until your body is ready. King: You don’t understand. Travis will not simply be subdued. He will not stop, until he is killed. So, if he gets here and we are forced to fight him, the only way to keep him at bay would be to kill him. Luckily, I’ve thought ahead. Travis has an obstacle headed his way; one that will surely slow him down. Thus, giving me more than enough time to return to my body. 1 Kirie reacted to this

Queen Tery 4,591 Posted May 13, 2012 sweet travis is batman reborn in real life idk lol Travis may be getting a little nicer, but they are pretty different. Batman fights to help people, is fairly kind(except to criminals), and fights as a vigilante in one city.. Travis fights for himself, is kind of dick(like i said not so much, now, but still.) and is a wanderer. On a side note: Thank you for following my story.
