Hey guys, TB2 here again. So, hopefully by now you've noticed that the EU release date for 3D is the 20th of July, 11 days before the US release. This strikes me as odd. Nothing bad or good either way, but just strange. It seems as if they're starting to favor EU countries over the US releases. For years, most Japanese-export games have always gone with a JAP > US > EU release line, with the Japanese versions getting all the goods, the US getting some different yet lesser things, and EU getting either near-nothing or flatout nothing special at all.

Lately though it seems as if those tables have turned, especially for the KH series. It first started with BbS. Sure, the EU date was still after the US, but the EU regions got the fancy special edition what-not while the only bonus for the US was sticker decals for the PSP (still badass, btw). But as the games progressed, the release dates started getting closer together, until finally now, EU will get the game a full 11 days before the US.

Even though I live in the US, I'm actually saying it's about time. I always felt like the EU region was getting jipped by having the last dates and with nothing special. I think it's their time. On the hand of course, it sucks for me as a US resident, but...oh well.

So, what are your guys' opinions on it, if any at all? I just thought it was something interesting I'd like to point out.

Huhu, I honestly thought we wouldn't take the news well, but besides the 3 people I've seen complain about it, we've taken the news of the switch up pretty well. Yay!!! :3

It'll be interesting to see what our preorder bonus is. Since there was a SE 3DS that came out, I'm going to assume more decals (which is fine, the designs are amazing) but who knows. I know the preorder bonus for TheatreRythm Final Fantasy is a specialized new stylus, so that's cool.

I wouldn't look into the Birth By Sleep limited edition too much. Europe (and by extention Aus and the rest of the PAL region usually) tend to get alot limited editions for games, that never see the light of day in the US. (and you guys got the PSP bundle for BBS, Europe missed out on that I think)

But anyway I'm quite happy Europe's getting a Kingdom Hearts early for once, sucks for America, but they've had to wait a month for quite alot of Kingdom Hearts releases, so them getting it early for once is quite nice. Hopefully the US and Europe both get the next Kingdom Hearts release after DDD in the same week ^^

This whole incident kind of reminds me of the Ocarina of Time 3D dispute we had here in Australia with the game getting released two weeks after Europe for some reason, and a indie gaming store grey importing copys from Europe (to keep up with the competition), selling them early. It caused pressure on retailers partnered up with Nintendo of Australia to sell them on a Friday the week before it came out here officially. It was quite shady, confusing, and a really strange streetdate break, but it all worked out in the end. :P

I'm not mad about it , just curious to why its 11 days apart . Why cant they release it in all regions at the same time ? It wasnt fair to EU in the past and it doesnt seem fair to NA now ..I just dont see the logic in it .. That said, it doesnt bother me that EU gets it first this time bc they have gotten jipped in the past .

This. I wonder why we can't all get it at the same time too. They could even start the English VA soon enough to coincide with the JP release. But it seems that they plan on keeping the same way, to where someone must always get the shaft, while Japan gets preferrential treatment.

i think that this is a good move because europe was neglected the previous years, maybe they can maintain a ballance and the next game will be publiced first in america ,actually i think other jrpgs like xenoblade, last story and pandoras tower got released in europe before usa

Yeah, they all did. It was them getting released in Europe that kickstarted project rainfall to get the games in America.

I've always wondered this. I understand they need to do different animations for cutscenes, but even then, production could/should be done at the same time. I can never get why they basically say, "OK, we're going to make the game here, then you guys change it." Just do it at the same time. As you're writing the script for dialogue, translate it. As you're animating mouths for cutscenes, have US teams animate it for the English at the same time. And record voices at the same time. I just don't get it. There's really no reason not to have worldwide release at the same time.

That's exactly what I think. I don't see why the localizations can't be done simultaneously with the original Japanese versions.

Im American and I font feel angry or anything, I just find it strange that it's coming out in EU first because the dub of the game is done by American actors and recorded in america. I don't really think anyone should be upset because it's only an 11 day difference

I'm European, so I won't opine. However, there's something still annoying me: the fact that Final Mix Versions, specials editions of consoles and much more are only realised in Japan, and that Re: Chain of Memories never come here to Europe http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/smiley-cry.png . So, the US at least have Re: Chain of Memories. I hope the 3DS Special Edition of KH3D releases here in Europe too, and the 10th Anniversary Box too.

>: ( this is an outrage! As an all mighty, awesome, fantastic, super-duper, amazing, freedom-loving american I demand we get everything first! We should have gotten the game even before japan got as Disney is an AMERICAN icon!

...... that was a joke. I don't really care as long as we get the game at some point LOL.

Believe me, it doesn't matter. The gameplay is still horrible. Have you watched the cutscenes online? If so, then you've played the game, simple as that.
