What percentage of US users on this site will vote for Obama even though this recession has hurt video game companies revenue because of declining game sales and a weak dollar? My guess is 85% at least.

Fewer than 70% as of now. The race is 50/50 for the most part right now. The people who don't know who to vote for yet are going to decide who takes the Oval Office.

Personally I would vote for Romney because Obama has not only failed to make things better, but has made things worse/ let them get worse.

Also, if you are going to base your vote off of video game revenue then you should be denied the right to vote. Our infrastructure is crumbling in half the country and outdated in the other half. We are also falling behind in science and medicine. Obama has not properly addressed any of these problems.

Obama is also failing to support our allies as much as he should. He basically condemned Israel to death by telling Iran they can make the first move. You don't say "come at me bro" to someone who is actually crazy enough to come at you.

He is also stepping on state rights. The individual states are what makes the country strong. A machine isn't going to function properly with rusty parts.

I can't vote, but if I could I'd vote Obama. I don't like any of the Republican candidates.

There is only one Republican candidate now. Romney has virtually locked up the nomination with his chief rival dropping out.

Also, I am talking about only people who use the forum, not in general.

I am not sure about the percentage of people who would vote for Obama, but I said fewer than 70% due hating Obama being "cool", when a good portion of people who say it don't even know what the heck they are talking about. Though, to be honest the Republican candidates all made themselves look pretty horrible with their advertisements. I swear, every commercial I saw for the elections was focused on completely bashing another candidate.

I see this is your first election.

Also, the votes for this thread should probably be anonymous.

In his defense, the congress is full of republicans.

That is sadly what almost all political commercials are. Making themselves look good and making the other candidate look way worse.

First one where I can actually remember the campaign commercials and what not. But I have to take back what I said, well half-way. I saw one of Obama's commercials, and while not nearly as bad as some of the Republican commercials got, it was still unnecessary.

I have no respect for Congress. Not only did they devote themselves to stopping progress, they made pizza a freaking vegetable (well, at least they tried to, no clue if it actually passed).

And yeah, I have figured out the commercials now. Its disgusting.

I don't give a damn :I Politics in my opinion just fire-escape everything up, start wars, etc. (Partially hippie i think o_o)

wars are going to happen no matter what. i'd honestly rather have a government like the US' than an anarchy or a dictatorship any day.

I think it would be somewhat disappointing if people based their votes on how Obama affected video game companies. ._. If that's the only thing people are worried about, then they really need to find something better to do with their lives. Plus, Obama doesn't have anything to do with the beginning of the recession. That was back with Bush.

@thread

lulz, we all know Obama sucks

Romney sucks

Ron Paul doesn't even have a chance, so I don't even know why he's on the poll.

third parties never win

this is between Obama and Romney and I personally don't care who wins, because either way it won't be good.

Gah, politics.

It's really quite a sickening monster at this point. It's just a bunch of high budget name calling, followed by four years of marginal or backwards progress, followed by a repeat. Governments have become such convoluted mazes of expectations and promises that any semblance of efficiency has long since gone out the window (And I'm not talking the last few years, or last hundred, or something, politics has been on a downwards slant since its inception)

That's just a facet of our culture though, so what ever.

What I'm really sick of is the idea of how we vote. Why are there only a handful of 'real' parties? Why do people insist I have no right to complain if I don't vote? I'm not claiming apathy, I just don't agree with the candidates, why is that a damning sin? It's beyond choosing the lesser of two evils, no matter who you choose, it's going to have negative impacts all around, so choosing who you vote for is really more choosing who will harm you the least.

Why is it that we have to throw our entire ideals behind a single representation? Why can't we, the people, choose what we want? Why is it that this democracy is eroding functionally into something more like a monarchy (Well, an oligarchy) where a small group of people determines how everybody else lives?

And more importantly, determines badly. I have no idea why, but the United States seems to obsessed with following through on their 'just like the Romans' value to the letter, right up to the painful collapse. Is it really hard to see what's valuable? That we should be investing in making our people desirable employees, with high education. People who can keep the precious capitalist machine running? Is it really that hard of a concept to understand that if you give a person the means to make money, and keep money, they will spend that money, and increase the overall quality of life for everybody? Or, if you're not going to taek that route, take A route. Something. Do something. It's better than nothing.

To quote Douglas Adams

"Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job."

We don't have the right people doing the job.

If you refuse to vote then you don't have the right to complain.

Everyone has a right to protest too so i can complain ;)

What I'm saying is that if you vote you have a chance of changing things to how you would like them. Refusing to vote and complaining about politics is like turning down lottery winnings and complaining that you are poor.
