KissyFace 134 Posted April 17, 2012 (edited) Why are Sora and Riku young in DDD? Personally, I don't mind it, though I'm interested in the reason. Edited April 17, 2012 by KissyFace
sorariku17 37 Posted April 17, 2012 why are Sora and Riku young in DDD? Personally, I don't mind it, though I'm interested in the reason. They are young due to the mark of mastery exam. thats all there is to it, they need to go back to the begining basically and learn how to use the keyblade properly
HarLea Quinn 26,501 Posted April 17, 2012 Because Nomura is obsessed with young boys .. .They only appear young while in the Realm of sleep bc of the MoM..When they are in the realm of light they are their current age. 6 Tsunamo, Pavlovic Sarah, Robbie the Wise and 3 others reacted to this

KissyFace 134 Posted April 17, 2012 I am well aware that they are only young in the World of Sleep, however, I would like to know why. And I doubt that they really had to re-learn how to use the Keyblade.

No seriously, its said lol, they need to learn the keblade the proper way, hence they went to the world of sleep, and a i think that's how the worlds see them as (young boys) (but thats my opinion, we won't REALLY know why they are young until the game comes out) and if there is no explaination, then its because nomura is running out of ways to get sora back to level 1 (riku too i guess lol) Because Nomura is obsessed with young boys .. .They only appear young while in the Realm of sleep bc of the MoM..When they are in the realm of light they are their current age. HarLea Quinn 26,501 Posted April 17, 2012 Unlike other keyblade wielders before them they have had no formal training so in order to prepare them to face MX Yen Sid wanted them to learn the proper way and to develope skills they wouldve learned with more formal training 1 Robbie the Wise reacted to this

KissyFace 134 Posted April 17, 2012 I see. So Nomura confirmed it. While I pretty well believe you, do you happen to know the source?

To any gamer, its expected that you are going to have to build your character up. Its a game mechanic not necessarily a story element. Although now that hes been consistent with the idea, itll probably continue that way. Inconsistencies suck.

Only idea i didn't like was the level 1 data sora if the journal was really "alive" then wouldn't it make him epic in everyway .........but yeah, i wasn't relating it to a story element, i was just stating that all his games (other than BBS and coded or days) have some way for sora getting back to level 1 story wise, which actually makes the game exciting, like after KH 1, CO made him level 1. then his sleep made him level one due to being weakened and kinda rusty. then now the MoM exam has him relearn the keyblade (hence level one ), and yes inconsistencies do suck, but not for this game..... deathrebirthsenshi 279 Posted April 17, 2012 I thought it was because in order to be in the realm of sleep, you needed to be in a form that no longer existed? But wait, that doesn't really make sense because of Riku's haircut and the new clothes...I also noticed in some scenes Sora turned into his KH2 self in the realm of sleep (ie in the scene with Roxas)...so... Nomura's having trouble saying goodbye to the original character designs lol. He's not exactly inconsistent...there are legit story-related reasons for them, and they can be pretty interesting. Chain of Memories actually came about as a way for Sora to start off at level one for KH2.I do wonder how much longer this is going to continue though...I mean, afterall, in BBS keyblade Master Aqua was able to start off at level 1 with only a few commands, so it may become less of a big deal as Sora finally gets stronger. Zanzetsuken 66 Posted April 18, 2012 I actually thought it had something to do with Xehanort. The change of clothes were actually due to Young Xehanort, but then they were pretty much young from the start... Back to level 1~
KissyFace 134 Posted April 18, 2012 I doubt levels actually affect any of the story. It's probably to just keep it like an RPG game.
