r0ckstarferlife 34 Posted April 11, 2012 (edited) Okay so i have an obsession with the kingdom hearts series (obviously) haha. As soon as i heard that there was going to be a game released for the 3ds i rushed out and bought one, when i found out that their were going to be the world ends with you characters in DDD i bought that game and completed it (very good), I own every game in the series and i even repurchased some of the others just in case the worst happens. The other day my friends asked me what was so great about the series that i feel the need to have the fan page bookmarked in my phone. I honestly didnt know what to tell him besides "Its seriously the best game ever and i'm addicted"... as you can imagine that wasn't enough. Most of my friends refuse to try it out because of the Disney characters, and when i go into detail everyone gets confused lol. Has anyone run into a similar situation? what did you tell them? deathrebirthsenshi 279 Posted April 11, 2012 (edited) Same thing happened to me when someone looked at a kingdom hearts shirt lol. I tell them it's like star wars, final fantasy, and disney all rolled into one. Then sprinkle in some teenage angst and questions about the meaning of life. Friend of mine's response: "So, it's a disney rpg? And the main character has mickey mouse shoes? And you bludgeon people to death with a giant key?...sounds disturbing." I think the worst part is, even worse than the blank stares you get when you try to explain it, is how much of a geeky nerd I sound like as I'm trying to explain it...it sounds like I have absolutely no life whatsoever which is true SHUT UP VOICE OF REASON Edited April 11, 2012 by deathrebirthsenshi 1 r0ckstarferlife reacted to this

Kishira 2,854 Posted April 11, 2012 About 99% of the friends I've had I've been able to get sucked into the series. As dumb or weird as the series may sound at first glance, it defiantly peeks the interest and curiosity. xDD

r0ckstarferlife 34 Posted April 11, 2012 Lol, When I try to explain it to my friends, they get confused and end up asking me a million of questions. x-x I know Its so hard to sum up the series, i might just force them to play DDD, because to my understanding it is targeting new fans to the series. Same thing happened to me when someone looked at a kingdom hearts shirt lol. I tell them it's like star wars, final fantasy, and disney all rolled into one. Story is great and leaves the player always wanting more. The story also has few (if any) plot holes. And these plot holes are filled up most of the time. The story might look predictable, but the next installation always makes your mind=BLOWN. The wait for each game is pretty short: 1-2 years. The game play is great and never the same as the last installation, so you won't get bored. The characters are loveable. It has disney and square characters... If you don't love the game series there is something seriously wrong with you... The graphics are amazing and the characters aren't poorly made. The creator, Nomura puts just as much effort into the smallest details as the gameplay, story, and characters. The promise of the series ending correctly. I know a lot of people hate when a series ends midway. The friendly, but serious environment of the game. The possible HD Collection. That you can play any of the games and you'll get hooked immediately. Edited April 11, 2012 by StrongHeart
map6789 2 Posted April 11, 2012 OMG lol my boyfriend is the only person I know who loves kingdom hearts, but he's not obsessed to the point of understanding everything about the game as much as I do i guess. My friends think it's really stupid, and if i try to explain it, they can't get it, plus a lot of my friends don't like video games I'm just like: I DON'T UNDERSTAND THESE PEEOPLE. HOW DO I HAVE RELATIONS WITH THEM. 1 r0ckstarferlife reacted to this

Tell them its Disney epicness + Final Fantasy (with a little TWEWY) epicness + some original epicness + some more epicness Thank the merciful gods, I go to a very nerdy school, so even if there aren't fellow kingdom hearts nerds (which...I don't think anybody really reaches the level of nerdiness i do, I even get blank stares among my kh friends), there are lots of anime nerds and I guarantee about 80% of students have disney songs on their ipods and can still appreciate the amazingness that is disney.^^
WerXand-XV 34 Posted April 11, 2012 I explained in detail everything that happens to Sora and the entire timeline of the game to my friend at her request
FireRubies1 1,325 Posted April 11, 2012 Actually... I was the one getting the explanation. I saw my friend drawing a keyblade in art class and I recognized it and talked to her about it. I tried to look up videos and the popular ones at the time were BBS. I knew about Roxas so I came to school later asking "what's Ventus?", and I also pointed out things only a rookie would notice... like the backwards words in "Sanctuary" and the added X in the org's names

PuellaMagiAquaMagica 24 Posted April 12, 2012 I told my private lesson teacher and everyone else that it was simply 'A Disney and Final Fantasy Crossover'. For my private lesson teacher, she knew about FF series already, so it's kind of easy. As for everyone else; some are confused. If they are confused, I will just said 'Just go google it'. Weiss 8,279 Posted March 18, 2013 I usually just describe it as an awesome Disney/final fantasy crossover where the main character fights with a giant key.
