James finished his food and got up. "I'm ready to go." he said.

Felix looked at her and smiled. "No...I really don't. I was a pretty bad kid. I never listened, I was always out late, and my dad sent me to military school when I turned 16. I hated it there, and so when I turned 18 and graduated I came home with a new attitude," he said. These were painful memories, but he was glad to bring them out in the open. Especially to Rebekah. "You know, you're a really nice girl..." he started, but then the rain poured down so he jumped under the lean-to they'd made. He pulled her in and sat beside her. Luckily the fire was under a part of the lean-to and wasn't being put out. He smiled at her, held her hand, and looked at the sky.

"It's pretty you know...the rain. If I had to describe it with word's....I'd say about half as pretty as you," he said blushing.

'Yeah!! No don't stop there say more!!" Axel thought quickly.

"You're...very beautiful...smart...funny, but I feel like I was a bit....quirky? I acted a bit off right?" he asked.

'No!!! Wrong direction!! Seriously, we're gonna have to work on that...' Axel thought with a sigh.

 

"I'm old enough to know I can't live my life on the run..." Scott said standing up. "I'm guessing you guys have been doing a lot of work huh?" he asked.

Alex, Elie and Mariah were running to the place they believed Felix and Rebekah were. "I see something, i think they are over there."

'Dont just stand there Alex, get moving i dont want to get sick.' Alex was about to run into the camp, but noticed something. Alex was pretty positive that Felix and Rebekah were having a one-on-one love chat. He face palmed himself.

"Hate to interupt them, but i can get very sick out here." Alex pondered for a moment. "I will give them some alone time..." Alex went a few feet from the campsite and huddled under a tree that...sorta protected him.

'You sure you dont want to go there.'

"I should let them be...i mean after all i wouldnt want anyone disterbing me if i was having a love moment."

'I guess so...'

"Well, i am tired and exhausted so i am going to sleep."

'Here?'

"Where else, i want to leave the love birds alone."

'Guess i better tell Axel so he doesnt freak out or something.'

'You do that."

 

 

Arina wandered around, but it was raining. She tried to cover herself with her jacket to keep herself dry.

'Arina, i think...Riku, he is nearby somewhere.'

"Really, is he another friend of yours?"

'Yeah, we need to find him.'

Mariah accompanied Elie and Alex as they hurried towards the campsite. When it came into view, she could barely make out two figures, which she assumed were Rebekah and Felix. It looked like they were having a conversation that wasn’t meant for anyone else’s ears. She backed off and took her place on the other side of the tree where Alex was situated, hoping their conversation would wrap up soon. Not that she didn’t care what they might be talking about, but she was getting cold and wet and wanted to get out of the rain as soon as possible.

Troy's dazzling smile practically made Keilani's heart melt. She smiled back at him, hoisted her bag over her shoulder as he had done, skipped over to him, and kissed him. “Alright, then,” she said. “Let’s go!” She started to walk out of the bus and into the open air. Before she did, though, she turned back around. “Troy, you have the greatest smile. Just thought I'd say that.” She walked the rest of the way outside and found that the rain was getting heavier. I guess we’d better hurry, she thought. But she still savored the rain as much as she could while she walked. She grinned as it came into contact with her face and hands.

“Okay, let’s get out of here,” Alexis said. As she got up, she noticed that Scott had left the keys to the Jeep on the table and swept them up. “I’m driving.” She made her way out of the restaurant through a side exit.

Rebekah looked away sheepishly. “Whatever. I’m not any of those things,” she mumbled. Then she looked back at Felix and laughed. “But you know, some say that a person’s quirks can be his most lovable qualities.” She looked at him with admiration, and again wondered why his parents had treated him so badly. Sure, he claimed to have been a bad kid, but his parents had to play some part in that--most kids didn’t just behave poorly out of nowhere.

 

At that moment, she heard some people approaching. Strangely, she didn’t realize until just then that Felix had been holding her hand the entire time, but now her eyes widened and she jerked it away, then scooted a little away from him. She wasn’t sure why, but the idea of other people seeing...made her feel weird. She hoped she didn’t hurt his feelings by her reflexive actions.

Felix smiled and blushed. "Alright, I'm gonna sit down now..." he said to her quietly, then he looked into the trees and yelled, "Alright, come on out we're done with our little chat I think. I mean for the most part...." He sat down and patted down his jacket, he pulled out his cell phone, and then looked at Rebekah. "Alright...this is going to be a big cliche, but can I have your number? For...emergancy of course...I mean...if you get taken, or if the group gets split. I wanna know you're ok..." he said blushing brighter. His face felt hot...he couldn't remember the last time he'd felt so nervous.

'Dude...you got her to come talk to you, alone....in the woods, and you're nervous about a cell phone number????' Axel thought.

'Well, when you put it that way...' Felix thought. Then his memory locked onto something he'd almost missed...something he just didn't get. "Rebekah...you are everything I said and more. Don't let you or anyone else ever tell you differently," he said with a wink.

"I am not playing games here!" Aria J said and smacked at Scott's face. "Okay by the look of you, you are about 28, perfect enough. Now if you dont mind put your hands on the top of your head." Aria J said.

James got up and followed her, saying "Sounds good to me." When they reached the Jeep, he got in the front passenger seat and sat down, buckling the seatbelt. "So, where to now?" he asked.

"Finally Felix. Oh wait we are at numbers now. Good job." Alex got over into a dry spot and sneezed. "Man am i cold."

'I told you.'

'Roxas...'

Alex curled up into a ball, slightly shivering.

 

Arina found some dry spot and kept herself warm.

"Kairi...are you sure you can find Riku."

''I am sure."

'I hope so.'

Arina buried he face and Seichi came to mind, she started to slightly sob, it was her fault he was gone.

Tyler grinned and said "Lead the way!" as he followed Tudi through the rain out towards the makeshift camp, excited about the people he'd meet, but slightly nervous as well.

 

Troy was beaming at Keilani's compliment so much that he barely noticed the rain pouring down around him. When they got to the camp he noticed that Felix and Rebekah were getting along splendidly. Troy realized that he really didn't know either of them very well at all, but still, he was glad to see both of them happy. Maybe it was just Ven's feelings towards both Axel and Aqua, but he didn't really care. He cared for them and knew that they would have his back in a pinch, just like he'd have theirs.

 

Ethan slid into the back seat of the vehicle, stretching out and leaning back against a door but letting Alexis and James have their room. He noticed Scott get slapped and chuckled inwardly. "Well, I'd say to the spa resort unless one of you two would like to do something else? As Lexi's big bro and new acquaintance of yours, I'd be happy to pull some strings to make your nights unforgettable. The night's still young, hell, it's barely even night. So, what do ya say?"

Vanitas turned to see a man standing there. "Wow. I can sense darkness in you. Pretty strong in fact." Reilly narrowed his eyes. "Do...I know you?"

Rebekah felt a rush at Felix’s words. Even though it was hard to process, she realized he really meant what he was saying about her. No guy had ever told her those things, except maybe her father, when she was much, much younger. Her cheeks reddened and she felt a lump forming in her throat as she said, “Thanks. You’re really sweet.” She felt so overwhelmed that she became lightheaded and dazed, and almost forgot about the question Felix had asked. “Oh, um, yeah, phone number. Of course!” After she gave it to him, she thought of something else he had said. In case they got separated, or...she got taken.

 

She realized with horror that she could be used not only against Mariah, but now against Felix as well, and he against her. Just like Scott had done when he kidnapped Keilani, just as Reilly was manipulating everybody--especially Mariah--by holding Joy captive. She shivered and hoped she would never be forced into a situation like that, either where she was used as bait, or someone she was especially close to was taken in order to manipulate her. Maybe this was one reason she was afraid to fall in love...

“That sounds wonderful, Ethan,” Alexis said with a grin as she started to drive. “Thanks for hooking us up.” She cringed inwardly at the double-meaning of her last sentence. She didn’t want to be with James more than she had to. She was also ready to get this whole killing off the “good” Inhabiters thing over with, her only reason being that if they didn’t know of her by now, they might soon, especially if any of them decided to come looking for their friend. Of course, with Scott doing whatever the hell he was doing, their plans might be delayed a bit. Or not...? She could never tell what he was up to.

Mariah emerged from the shadow beside the tree and almost immediately saw Rebekah’s and Felix’s red faces in the firelight. She smiled, but decided not to ask any questions, never having been one to pry. Maybe she would ask her cousin about it later in private. Despite being happy for them, though--assuming their expressions meant something positive--she also felt pained and worried, remembering Joy. Tomorrow, she thought. We’ll save him tomorrow. Tomorrow couldn’t come fast enough. She forced the thoughts aside and spoke casually. “Hey, guys,” she said. “Alex and I got some plants that we can eat. I’m not sure if we’d eat the raw or cook them somehow...but I’m pretty sure we’ve got enough for everybody.” She quickly got under the lean-to so that she could be out of the rain, almost too tired to think about eating.

When Keilani arrived at camp with Troy, she almost instantly noticed the way Felix and Rebekah were looking at each other and couldn’t resist an, “Awwww!!!” She decided to back off when Rebekah appeared embarrassed. Her eyes focused on Felix for a second, and she wanted to talk to him and ask his advice right now, but she figured it would be better to wait until Troy was distracted, since the advice was about him. “So, I got some bedding and some water bottles for us,” she announced as she got under the lean-to beside a woman she hadn’t yet met (Mariah). She then looked at Troy. “Wait, what did you get? I didn’t even see!” she said with a laugh.

"How did you get water bottles-(achoo)" Alex rubbed his nose. "The plants I gathered can be eating raw. But if you want to boil you can. I just want to sleep." Alex laid down on the ground. (Achoo)

Scott smiled and said, "Wow, police brutality? I'm guessing you're new to the whole innocent until proven guilty in a court of law huh?" He chuckled and put his hands on his head. "So, what are your plans? You going to put me in prison, make me hook up with a rough inmate named Jim, and next thing I know it's the Shawshank Redemption?" he asked laughing.

 

Felix blushed and moved over by the fire. He admired the new number in his phone, then said, "I can cook actually. If anyone has a pot I can collect some of the water and make a nice stew. Some of those plants ya'll picked up are good herbs for adding flavor. See that's ginger...weird that it's growing out here though..." He looked at Rebekah and winked. "Alright so I'm thinking guys will bunk on the left, girls on the right. The fire is big enough for us all to get some heat from it, and we should take turns on watch. I'm thinking that us guys should take the watches so the girls can sleep, it's been a long day, and especially for Troy and Keilani," he said looking around.

"There was actually an assortment of plastic utensils and a few pots that we could cook in that I found in the travel bus. Living on the road must be intense. We should be able to just cook the rain water for use to cook stuff. I don't know about you guys, but I prefer my food that way. Besides, there was a girl in the group earlier who I think went to go get some meat. Sorry if that offends any vegetarians or vegans," replied Troy, turning to all of the people assembled under the rather large covering Felix and Rebekah had made. "I'm used to cooking, so I can handle that along with Felix if no one has any objections," Troy continued, setting the pots out of the cover to collect water and handing out bottles of water from Keilani to the others there. "You all can go ahead and make yourselves comfortable with the bedding my girlfriend got."

I am a mutant, my brother is engaged to Victoria, and Aria and Noel are just simple famous people caught up in this whole mess. "No, I'm afraid I do not know you." Sumer replied to the man, though he as well felt a sense of familiarity. "I'll take that comment as a compliment." He said, now referring to the other now. "I can sense it within you as well. And there is one in here that doesn't. Are you holding it hostage? If so, I've got another for you." He said, kicking Seichi forward. "By the way, I'm Sumer, inhabited by the great, Ansem, Seeker of Darkness!"

Tudi did as Tyler suggested. She ran back to camp in the pouring rain. She didn't mind it much, the rain had always energized her. Yuffie didn't seem to think so.

'Tudi, get out of this rain! It's not much fun.'

'Get off my back, I'm going as fast as I can.' Tudi tried to appease Yuffie. Both of them finally made it to camp, and Tudi made her arrival known. "Hey guys, I'm back! And I've got bird! Oh, and a new recruit! Here we have... drum roll please, Tyler!" She said.

Joy looked up. "Get out of here! Escape while you still can!" Vanitas growled. "Shut up Joy!" He looked down at Seichi. "What's your name? I sense...some sort of familiarity within you." Reilly grinned. "That there's Sora. You know, the 'great hero of light'? Weren't you wanting revenge, Xemnas?" He nodded, as if hearing something. Vanitas rolled his eyes. "Sumer, please take this boy next to Joy."

"Tomorrow we are going to save Joy. We will finally stop the bad guys once and for all." Alex said standing up. "Tomorrow we will need all out strength. Because I am not going down without a fight."

Scott shook his head. "Nah, I'm good. Just take me to jail, I'd like the judicial system to take it's course..." he said with a smile, "Just go ahead and cuff me. I won't be hunting anyone down. I know what it feels like to be hunted, and I won't return the feeling."

 

Felix looked up. "Alright. I think I'll just be the number two guy automaticly. The first spot can alternate. That way you guy's can get even more sleep between shifts," he said happily. He looked again towards Rebekah...then blushed.

Troy replied to Elie, saying "I'm Troy and this here's Felix. I can't say as Ventus, my inhabitor, knows yours, and I didn't manage to catch your name earlier." Just then, Troy was caught off guard by the arrival of Tudi and the new guy. "Glad to have some meat here, personally, and even happier that we've got ourselves a new teammate. Tudi, was it? Do you think you could hand me those birds to cook and go ahead and get the new guy all caught up on what's happening here? At least as much as you know, that is. Tonight after we eat we should all get good rest in shifts. Tomorrow, things get real. I don't know about Scott and Ethan or what they're planning, but we know where Joy is being held and maybe we'll find Seichi and the other girl there as well."
