Xehanorts Guardian (KH3D spoilers and possible future spoilers)

Recommended Posts

Is Xehanorts guardian ever explained in any KH game? Is it just a heartless that MX has somehow tamed or is it something more sinister?Posted Image In BBS it is assumed that somehow Terra-Nort creates the Guardian somehow but I feel that it still has something to do with MX's time in the darkness, of possibly to do with the whole KH3D time travelling business. Maybe even KH3. Xehanorts Guardian seems to be a sybmbiote of some sort that is joined to its host but this is quite unique in the KH lore; only Xehanort and his incarnations have ever had a Heartless fuse with them.

So crazy speculation; Guardian is actually a time travelling MX after his defeat in KH3. As a punishment for his evil deeds he is joined to his past selves and ceases to act with his own mind. It actually makes some sense, since KH3D time travelling postulates that time travelling is only possible to times where a form of you exists. MX might try and time travel but is corrupted by his own darkness to such an extent that he no longer retains his mind and humanoid form, instead pointlessly travels back in time to help his past selves and watch his various defeats.

Come to think of it, I dont think it's ever been explained. And I don't think I have any hypothesis as to what Guardian is, though I really doubt he is Xehanort from KH3.

Good question though, you left me thinking about it..

Its a pureblood heartless from the RoD that was drawn to the immense rage and darkness of Terranort. Like all heartless that are drawn to people's darkness (ie Clayton and the chameleon), its true goal was likely his heart as it tried to drag him into the darkness when he was defeated. However, MX seems able to control heartless (as shown with the neoshadows) so when his memories reemerged he probably reigned in the Guardian and made him into a permanent servant due to his incredible power. Why the guardian is so close to SoD and doesn't come to any of his other forms after BBS is never explained but its likely due to the fact that SoD is a heartless he has a special relationship with and greater control over the guardian.

thanks for your replies. My theory was a stretch, even by my standards, but I still don't know what the Guardian IS. No other heartless is close to its uniqueness . . . maybe its one of the rulers of the RoD, a sort of heartless prince. But its symbiotic nature is strange; has any other heartless done that? And the whole time travelling thing; this raises the possibility that heartless can time travel too which is just confusing (the possible plot points.) But then again you have to purposefully remove your own heart and as far as we know Xehanort is the only one that has done that.

Well, the thing as far as what you said about the guardian is...almost anything surrounding Sora and Xehanort ends up in a first, lol. I mean, technically, before Xehanort heartless barely existed--the could only be summoned from the realm of darkness by someone, and they weren't free to roam about and steal hearts as they wished.

Huh. That might just be why...maybe the guardian heartless has on some level been influencing a way to bust the heartless out of the RoD or something...Idk but i think i was on to something there for a moment...
