Tails 6,692 Posted April 5, 2012 Hirokazu Yasuhara, a games industry veteran and one of the game directors for the early Sonic titles has joined Nintendo. Nintendo and Yasuhara have both confirmed the move, but neither will reveal what his new position is within the Kyoto based company. Yasuhara has told press that he will be working at Nintendo of America in Redmond, Washington. I find this to be fantastic news for Nintendo. I mean, the co-creator of the classic Sonic games joins NoA? That's the best thing that ever happened. I really wonder what his position will be and what games he will be working on. I am very interested to knows what it is. But I wonder is, why is he working for NoA if he is Japanese? I don't have a grudge against this or anything but why work for Nintendo of America? 2 advfox and Zenithia reacted to this
Zenithia 305 Posted April 5, 2012 tutti frutti. I actually hope that Yasuhara is able to get the Sonic games, at least on the Nintendo consoles back on track. I loved how Sonic Generations was like a stepping stone towards getting Sonic back to how he is supposed to be. There are some others that I've loved in the Sonic franchise: SA2, Sonic the Hedgehog 1 - 3, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), etc. I'm definitely looking forward to his new position and what ideas he will bring to Nintendo. hatok 6,413 Posted April 5, 2012 I'm not sure how this is the 'best thing ever' or even really a 'thing' Kinda interesting, I guess? And I'm sorry, Sonic has long since 'recovered' his games are as good as any other's.
Weedanort 8,786 Posted April 5, 2012 He'd better do Sonic games. If he does Mario games, Sonic's screwed.

Dude the only good sonic games to be released since 2004 are Sonic Gens and the PS3 version of Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing. Every Sonic Wii game sucks and sonic 06 is so glitchy you cant play it without getting a game over on every level. BTW i'm sorry if this makes me sound like an ass, i'm just expressing my opinion. Sonic Colours outdoes Generations, simply because it's more or less the same as Generations, only with more content. Every game past Sonic 06 was a steady improvement. The games weren't truly good until I'd say... Sonic and the Black Knight, roughly. Sonic Unleashed managed to finally have a polished engine, and Sonic Colours and Sonic 4 finally were free of any of the large, sweeping complaints of previous Sonic games. All that remained was nitpicks. Also, the handheld games were never bad in the first place.

If you must know, I own and have beaten Sonic Adventure 2. As well as Sonic Adventure, and Sonic 3 and Knuckles, and Sonic 1, and Sonic 2, and Sonic CD, and Sonic Heroes, and Shadow the Hedgehog, and Sonic and the Secret Rings, and Sonic and the Black Knight, and Sonic Unleashed (Both versions) And Sonic Colours, and Sonic Generations, and all of the handheld games up to Sonic Rush Adventure (including gamegear games and whatnot) I KNOW what I'm talking about.
