It's pretty obvious that it would have happened eventually because otherwise she'd be stuck waiting on Destiny Islands forever. The fact that Lea becomes a wielder is pretty awesome, as for Kairi, I think it's epic too/ But I have faith in Nomura that he has his reasons for this.
