The Meta (roleplay)

"Hmph, how cuted you are in thinking that mere sketches could stop me." Hunay said, remaining in the shadows. The shinobi followed the voice and made their way there. In a few seconds, a little bit of paper flew out from the shadows. Hunay stepped out of the shadows and revealed herself. "Stop hiding yourself behind those mindless puppets and put up a fight yourself!" Neena threatened. She readied her blade.

The moment Hunay had revealed herself, a bolt of electricity shot from the ceiling, barely missing Hunay. Three more bolts shot down, forcing her to back up. The others turned and saw Drake walking down the hall, his eyes glowing yellow and static shooting from his body. Always try to avoid a fight if it's possible. Could try reasoning and intimidation tactics, draw attention to her being outnumbered, convince her to walk away peacefully. If she continues to put up a challenge, kill her and leave with the others. Alright. Drake drew his short twin blades and pointed them at Kunay. "You're outnumbered. Walk away now."

 

Drake was sort of an odd duck in the Meta. He was the more strategic and peaceful type, always trying to ensure that violence was saved until all other options were eliminated. Despite being what many would think as a pacifist though, he has a reputation amongst the other members as being swift, brutal, and merciless when he's forced into a fight.

"Outnumbered? I guess you could say that. However, I know every thing about you, have trained for this day since I was a little girl. Now every one of your strategys, and weaknesses, and strengths. You know nothing about me, and have been locked in jail for close to a year now. You're rusty. I'm fresh. I believe that you are outinformationed." Hunay replied cockily to Drake. "There may be strength in numbers, but there is more than enough strength in this individual to take you all on!" Hunay slashed with her sword and quickly followed up with an upward swing at all of the Meta.

Soul appeared out of the darkness and caught the blade in mid air. "long time,no see" he smiled cockily at hunay. "kazi,careful what you say but,nice drawings you got there"he used his left hand to point at the shinobi behind him. "ok meta, let's leave." soul had focused hard and created a giant cage to hold hunay while they escaped. "I hope she can't break it" he whispered. He turned and ran towards his squad "this way!" he shouted as he bolted towards the exit.

Nathan stepped behind Hunay, "You know, my girl... I would like to have my fun with you, but I would like to get fresh air first." Nathan said and then made hole in wall with his Ark of Time and went through it. "Hey guys, I don't know most of you since I have been imprisoned the most time, but if you want to get out then you should follow me.

Nathan jumped out from the hole and said with sarcastic tone: "Now Hunay, I believe that if I make this building collapse, even someone as great couldn't escape in moment" Nathan felt good to be outside again and then focused his energy. "Now get out guys!"

Kazi followed the rest of his team out through the hole in the wall. Out in the courtyard, there was a large outer wall to the prison, "No surprise," Kazi said, "but no problem either," Kazi drew a circle and marked an X on its center, signifying that this drawing would be explosive. With a flick off the page, the circle appeared on the outer wall and violently exploded shortly after.

Hunay contemplated her situation. She was stuck in a cage. She could break the cage. Hunay tried her best to break the cage. It didn't work But there was some darkness outside the cage! All she needed to do was transport to it and she was safe. Hunay did it, and ran after the Meta.

And explosion shook the ground, Kyrre shot his eyes to the security officer coordinating with him. "What the hell was that!?!" he asked, already rushing to his laptop which was showing the camera feeds. Most were out.

 

"Sir, it's the Southwest quadrant, the outer wall is out!" The security officer was trying to relay the information and talk on the radio at the same time.

 

Kyrre grabbed the Veris out of it's holster. "We have to assume that's where they're trying to get out, are there teams ready to intercept them?"

 

The security officer's face became pale. "We don't have enough men over there, they have 2 small police squads rushing there now but it-"

 

"It won't be enough!" Kyrre wouldn't be able to reach it in time even if he rushed across the compound. "Keep the perimeter up here, you're in commend, just in case they try to escape from anywhere else. I'm heading over there"

 

"But will you be able to make it?" The officer questioned.

 

"I have to try, because if they get out, who knows what could happen...."

"Not so fast" Nathan said smiling and made prisons walls collapse to slow Hunay down. "We must get to safe place now and keep low profile now" Nathan said to other Metas and went out of hole which Kazi had made. Nathan noticed polices coming and heard sirens and though: "This isn't going too well for us, there is too much of polices, special forces and other people, we must leave here!" Nathan maded hole on the ground and jumped down to the severs.

"Do we really have to go into the sewers?" Kazi complained, he pinched his nose in defence towards the foul odor rising from the hole. Hesitantly and reluctantly, he jumped in. With a large splash, he landed on the drink, horrified, "Aaawwwww! I can taste it!" He climbed into the concrete walkway and tried to get rid of the awful taste destroying his tongue.

 

The sewers were quite dark. Kazi drew a lantern which produced a bright light that lit up the path forward.

Soul was walking behind kazi. "so team,how was your cells? Mine was a bare room and I had to be completely strapped down and blindfolded. It was hell and why the hell are we in the sewers,kazi,when I said escape,I didn't want to go into the sewers" soul said walking through a layer of sludge. "and that's just fantastic" he muttered. "so,hunay has caught up with us after these years" soul said cheerfully. "light!" soul shouted as he saw the end of the tunnel. "team,here's my Plan,we split up for a few days and get some rest then,meet me at warehouse bravo 6" he said to everyone. "be there in 4 days and I'll know you're ready to get revenge but if you don't show up and decide to settle down,hell,maybe even have a few kids,it's all your choice" he continued. He turned around and started walking in a random direction. "I'll be waiting for you!" he said and left the forest they were all stood in.

Nosne was seen walking on a nearby street, while holding a newspaper under his left arm before looking upwards, towards the sky and then talking to himself by saying "Boy oh boy, Sure is warm today." As it seemed from where Nosne was currently living at, was both the sky bright and the weather was hot.

Drake watched as Soul walked away. Unwise to remain away from others for very long, considering we're now fugitives. Would recommend everyone staying together, but if one gets captured, all get captured. However, more of us means greater chance of success in a battle. Others may not want to continue with this group. Plus, Hunay is still hunting us. One on one combat isn't smart with her, and almost impossible to escape from her. I have to stay. No other life to return to. Others may be different. Alright.

 

Drake looked at the others that were still there. "I think we should stay together. That way, we won't get picked off one by one like we may if we stay seperate. If anyone wants to go back to a normal life, go into a seperate group and stay together for a few days until everything dies down. Anyone have other ideas?"

"Damn it!"

 

The sewer lid was still wobbling when Kyrre made it to the Southeast quadrant. Police arrived right along with him, but they were too late. Everyone seemed to stand around, waiting for orders. Kyrre looked at the blank faces of the police around him. He was a bit frustrated by all that had just happened, so when he gave the order to sweep the facility for any remaining prisoners, it came out as a bark and the police jumped back, but immediately got to work. With people like that it was no wonder the Meta escaped. Kyrre spent the next 20 minutes or so going over what had happened and what the current situation was at the facility with the warden, who had decided to finally show up after the Meta had escaped.

 

Just then a long black limo pulled up. The driver was intending to get out and open the door for the passenger, but the suited man in the back was obviously very anxious to get to business, and he pushed the door open before the driver could reach him. He moved incredibly quickly to Kyrre and the warden. The warden saw him approach and tried to greet him. "Hello sir, we've been expecting you, I'm J-"

 

"No need for introductions warden, I need an update, have any of the escaped prisoners been found?"

 

The warden stammered a bit "N-no sir."

 

The black-suited man meant business, he clearly knew what he was doing. He immediately replied. "Any other developments?"

 

"Uh, w-well, there was someone else in the facility, a woman, she seemed to be trying to stop the escaping prisoners.She wasn't a Meta either, not on our d-databases"

 

The man took no pause between the warden's answer and his own reply. "I see, check all priority data files for her possible identity, Mr. DeRou, come with me."

 

Kyrre was shocked that the man knew his name, why he would be needed was unknown to him, he had just been called in to help suppress a local breakout. Kyrre followed the suited man to the limo and the car immediately began to move away from the compound. Without a word, the suited man pulled several files and held them in his hand, then he grabbed several more and placed them in the other. He handed them both Kyrre.

 

"Mr. DeRou, the left files are the escaped members of the Meta, I assume you looked through most of them on your way here."

 

Kyrre was dumbfounded, what exactly was going on? "Yes sir, I did, what are these files on the right?" There were dozens of files Kyrre now held in his right hand, far more than the Meta list."

 

As always, the man was incredibly quick with his response. "Your potential picks"

 

Kyrre looked up, even more confused. "Picks for what, sir?"

 

"Your task force, Mr. DeRou. I've seen your case history, it's all I read on the way here. The fact that these terrorists got out was a tragic mistake, but we have to move on from it, we need to find them. That's where you come in Mr. DeRou. Task Force SD2 has been formed to find and either recapture or eliminate the escaped prisoners. We're putting you in charge, DeRou." The man waited impatiently as Kyrre looked over the files with disbelief. Top detectives, officers, soldiers. There were scientists who's names had been long hidden behind "Top Secret" stamps. Doctors, even.

 

Kyrre realized the man was waiting, and he looked up an replied. "It's an honor sir, I'd gladly take this position, I may need time to-"

 

The man finished his thought; "To think over the selections, of course, take your time. Why not do it in your new office, then, Mr. DeRou?" The car stopped. "You have until tomorrow at 7:00 AM to select your team, the specifications for the capacity of the task force are all in those files." The door of the car opened, and Kyrre found himself looking at a large silver office building, newly constructed. "Time is of the essence, Mr. DeRou." The man began to usher him out.

 

Kyrre turned back to him. "I never caught your name, or what section I'll be working under." The man laughed very quietly to himself. "I'm Sean Herenson, I'll be working as the task force supervisor, though I'll leave most everything to you and your team. And you work for a very unique section of the DoD, saying anything would be illegal."

 

Kyrre began to walk to his new office, looking over the men and women who would soon become his team, he would hunt down the Meta, and make sure they did not harm anybody else. Right before the suited man drove off, Kyrre turned back to him "I'll find them sir!"

 

The man turned to him with a light smile. "I know you will, you have to, good luck Mr. D-"

 

"It's Kyrre"

 

"Ok, then, Kyrre, I know you'll find them, good luck."

 

And he would. The Meta would be taken down.

Hunay finally moved the last piece of rubble off of her. She looked at the policemen who'd been patrolling the area who were now staring at her. She did the same. Her armor was very dented and her skin was very scratched. "Dang it!" She yelled. The policemen continued to stare. "You!" She pointed at one of them. "Where is the man in charge of this case?" He stuttered, "He went back to town in his new office." Hunay went back into the shadows and transported to a back alley near his office. She charged through the doors and yelled to a man sitting in an office chair and looking over some folders, "I highly doubt you know anything about the Meta I don't, but give it your best shot! Now!" She pounded her fist on the desk.

Kyrre's eyes widened, he had seen this girl before, but where? He kept silent for a few moments, examining her, she had rushed in here rather quickly, she was determined, but what did she want with the Meta, how did she know all this. Wait! She was in the security footage, trying to stop the escape, now he recognized her. Well, there were definitely a lot of questions that needed asking. Then he realized she was probably waiting for his response, she had asked him about the Meta. He had no idea who she was or what her intentions were, though. He looked down and checked that the Veris was in it's holster, just in case. If she had known about the Meta already, if she had been right there just as they were escaping, then she probably already knew quite a bit anyway. He thought he might go with it and see if anything good could come out of it.

 

He took a deep breath.

 

"The Meta, a clandestine organization of seemingly supernatural-powered agents who's role in high-risk or highly-delicate situations throughout history is as significant as it is secret. Several years ago, the organization split without warning and initiated one of the worst catastrophes in recent history." Everyone already knew what happened, he didn't need to name the incident. "The entire force was apprehended soon after and imprisoned, including members Soul Knight, Kane Reece, Bradley Junior, and Kazi Porter among others, all of whom hold unique and incredibly potent abilities that make them an immediate threat after their recent escape from their holding facility."

 

Time to play his card.

 

He put down the files and stood up, looking up at the girl with a smirk. "But you already know that, because you tried, and failed, to stop them." His nerves were held taut, not exactly knowing what to expect next, but he relaxed himself a bit, sighed, and brushed his hand through his hair.

 

"I'm Kyrre DeRou, the lead detective of the SD2 task force in charge of their elimination or recapture of all escaped members of the Meta; the only question then, Miss, is who are you?"

"I'm Hunay Imuna, a warrior with powers like the Meta but prefer to use them against them." Hunay introduced herself. The idea of an entire team devoted to taking down the Meta intrigued her. She could join, see what it was like, and run away if need be. "And I'd like to join your team." She finally decided.

"Well I would like to go alone now but Its too risky since there is so much of "dangerous" people here so lets go as group for sometime." Nathan said and then noticed ladder. "I will go and check area out." Nathan climped up and didn't saw people. "I think we can go up here. I know one place near the shore where we could hide until we are recovered. I really don't have plans to go far away with my condition so.. What do you guys think." Nathan raised from severs and then felt voice in my head. "What is that guy already here?" Nathan thought with shocked look and moved faster. "I can't explain right now, but we must go faster or we are screwed."

Kyrre hid a smile and sat back down, examining his newest possible pick. Somewhere in his head he had thrown around the possibility of it after seeing her on the camera footage, but here she was right before him applying for SD2. Kyrre's suited superior would probably green-light the addition, especially since it was such a rare chance, someone with a power. But wait, she hadn't specified her power.

 

"I think we could definitely use your talents, but if I could ask; what is your ability?"

"Night vision, invisiblity as long as I'm close to darkness, and limited teleportation." Hunay replied with no hesitation. The question wasn't that odd, was it?

Soul walked through the forest wondering how he got caught. He laughed at his thoughts because he intended himself to get caught to save his team. "right about here" soul whispered. He used his hands and started digging into the earth. After digging for about an hour,he found what he was looking for. It was a box shaped like a bullet. Inside was his clothes,his weapons and some provisions to use while he's on his way to warehouse 6.

Kyrre leaned back, cracking a smile, no longer focusing on his gun, but the interesting new prospect that stood before him. Those skills could certainly come in handy. Kyrre would probably be able to pull a few strings to allow her in, but it may be best if the rest of the team wasn't informed of her abilities. He had picked out most of them, and she just about rounded them out, tomorrow he would have a full list for his suited superior, and withing a day, SD2 would be fully functional and ready to find the Meta.

 

"You're hired, miss Imuna, we could certainly use your expertise, I'll make a call, have you allowed into the team, though keep talk of your abilities to an absolute minimum. I think you'll prove a valuable asset to taking down the Meta."

 

He began to collect his files, he was done for the night, he could head home and get some sleep before the next day. He beckoned that they both begin to walk out after he had put away the personnel files. As they began to walk out, he suddenly thought of something, and stopped and turned to Hunay.

 

"Before we leave, if you don't mind, there's just one thing I am dying to know; why exactly are you after the Meta and how do you know so much about them?"

Hunay smiled. It was the first time in a while. Finally, some real support in taking down the Meta. "When I was a little girl and first learned of my powers, I had previously heard of the Meta and their great feats. I had wanted to join them. But as you know, they eventually started doing some bad things. They lost my worship and I acted as if they were enemies. Though, some time later, a recruiter for the army showed up. I was training in a field outside the town, when he saw me use my invisibility. He of course pursued me to join the Meta. I told him I didn't want to, but he insisted. He got a few men to try and detain me but I easily fought through them and ran off. They tried a little bit longer to get me, but eventually quit. I figured, that considering I wasn't in the village anymore I might as well start combatting the Meta. So I collected as much information as possible. When they got into jail, I began patrolling that area because I figured they were too powerful to stay in jail for long. And the guards were depending solely on the special cells to keep the Meta contained. Thats about it." Hunay finished her explanation. For some reason, being around this man made her very comfortable. Maybe it was because he helped make a dream of hers come true. "And you may call me Hunay."
