KH3D The Unknown's connection(s) to Riku

Hello, everyone In the Square Enix long trailer, towards the end, the Unknown is shown extending his hand to Sora, saying, "Let's go together." Then, in a scene which is a second long, the Unknown is shown as Riku-who is also extending his hand towards Sora.

 

What is the significance of these scene? Thanks

I believe its mainly to show that we've seen this before. But its quite possible that Unknown is actually connected to Riku in some way since we have seen him talk about the darkness within Riku and (possibly) Repliku showing up in Monstro in front of the real Riku. But right now, it's unclear what his connection to Riku or Sora is.

I'm not entirely sure it was Repliku, but it's possible since he looks just like Riku did in KH1.

Riku looks same as he did in KH1, just like Sora. Except he has different clothes and hair.

Nah, Sora and Riku are the same age as they were in KH2 (maybe a little older), but they 'look' like their younger selves in the RoS. Sora's hair changes to it's KH1 look, but Riku's is cut.

Yes, Sora's clothes look similar to his Valor Form and Riku's clothe look similar to his KH2 outfit.

Not necessarily, bc their clothes don't change until they enter the RoS and before that they're still wearing their KH2 clothes. It still seems to be a mystery as to why they have new clothes in the RoS.

Nobody ever thought that fools Sora using illusion, that is believed to be Riku and so help them with their plans?

 

I've heard a theory that the Unknown will alter Sora's memories of Riku and replace them with himself.

Well here's a random theory, but the Unknown is connected to Riku the same way ASOD is connected to him.

 

As shown in the special trailer, the Unknown seems to goad Riku about his darkness the same way ASOD did in the past KH games.

 

Not only that he seems to know about the events of KH and COM and seems to be trying to make Riku join him like ASOD did.

 

So I think that the Unknown might be a form of Xehanort, what form idk some part of his heart probably
