Truthbringer 210 Posted March 11, 2012 And when i ask this i don't mean the game's name but the thing in the game with the same name. In KH1 i understood kingdom hearts to be the gate to the realm of darkness, i might be wrong. In KH2 it is apparently the gathering of countless hearts freed from heartless by use of a Keyblade. In BBS it is the fusion of all hearts of all worlds. So... what the heck is it?! My best guess is that it is related to some kind of light that is within the realm of darkness, but again, i might be wrong. Can anyone come with a concrete description as to what it is? Yang 1,859 Posted March 11, 2012 The gathering of enough hearts to make a power source or, if strong enough, a passage to the realm of darkness. 1 _The Door To Light_ reacted to this

SingingCookie 5 Posted March 11, 2012 Kingdom Hearts is...actually all those things. I think. It depends on how it comes about. Like, in BBS, Kingdom Hearts is created by the hearts of the worlds, it showed up because of the creation of the X-blade. While in KH1, Kingdom Hearts didn't actually appear, merely the door that was supposed to lead to it. And in KH2, it was created by the "hearts of men" and was created by the many hearts that were released by the Keyblade. At least, according to Nomura. He also said you can tell how it was assembled by the color of Kingdom Hearts (i.e. BBS it was blue, while KH2 it was yellow) However, if you're looking for something concrete I'd have to say that... Kingdom Hearts is basically the heart of everything. It's a sign of wisdom, and really it's difficult to completely comprehend which is why we never really get a straight answer. ...That's my thought on the matter, anyway. So, in KH1, it wasn't the gate to the Realm of Darkness, but rather, it was inside the Realm of Darkness (which was behind that door they had to close). You've got it right for KH2 and BBS, though. See, the gathering of hearts can include the hearts of worlds, too. In fact, the hearts of the inhabitants of a world are part of what makes up the heart of that world. It's video game logic, essentially. Also, Impersisfluff: I like your Soku and Roxel pic.
Dave 5,715 Posted March 11, 2012 I think Kingdom Hearts is intentionally abstract. The series has made clear that hearts are complicated things to understand, and so too must be the Heart of All Worlds. 4 VoidXName, Kishira, Queen Tery and 1 other reacted to this

Elijah Gravenhorst 480 Posted March 11, 2012 Kingdom hearts is the heart of all worlds and a realm of its own. It is also the light that is spoken of in kairi's grandma's story, which makes it all the things that you mentioned but all at the same time. Even though it wasnt all explained in the same game doesnt make it different every time.

JTD95 1,107 Posted March 11, 2012 In KH1, the Kingdom Hearts there was the Heart of all Worlds. Something which confuses me is: the door you see is sometimes referred to as the Door to Darkness, and sometimes it's referred to as the Door to Kingdom Hearts. I believe then Kingdom Hearts was for some reason residing within the Realm of Darkness, and we don't get to see it that game. The only thing we see is dark clouds behind the door shaped like a heart. In KH2, we see an artificial Kingdom Hearts created by Xemnas containing the Hearts of Men (or people is more correct to say). In BbS, I'm not quite sure what that Kingdom Hearts is but, I believe it's the same as the one in KH1.
Axtwyt 500 Posted March 11, 2012 The object known as "Kingdom Hearts" is the heart of all worlds. In KH1, Kingdom Hearts was found beyond the Door to Darkness (the door at the end). KH2, it was a fake Kingdom Hearts made by lost hearts. BBS, it was the real deal, summoned by Master Xehanort to be unlocked by the x-blade.
Rob 5,571 Posted March 12, 2012 In KH3D or KH3, Kingdom Hearts will be Sora.
atheist123 583 Posted March 12, 2012 ^This. Sora is the key to everything so therefore he is also to key to KH and IS Kingdom Hearts. Sora will absorb all the Hearts from Kingdom Hearts and become the new god ( and capable of reshaping the world as is often said by MX/Xemnas) but will be destroyed when the hearts try and explode out of him. He will eventually be revived somehow and start again at Level 1; unable to do anything more complicated than bludgeoning people with his keyblade. TheKHTheorist 17 Posted March 14, 2012 In KH3D or KH3, Kingdom Hearts will be Sora. I certaintly hope not. For one thing it seems awfuly predictable way to go. Secondly, Sora was always meant to be the normal kid who just so happened to be able to wield a giant key. Giving him the power of a god seems, to me at least, like it could ruin the entire point to his character. He's supposed to be the good kid, the one who comes on screen for the five year olds and tells them to follow the light inside of them. He's supposed to be a bit of a role model. Making him a god brings up all sorts of ethical and moral dilemas that, frankly, I don't think he needs. (From the looks of it, Sora's already got his fair share of moral problems for 3d.)
